Some people think his songs are very repetitive. Some are just that clickity clack beat that repeats with little melody... vocally hes clearly heavy on "chillie peppers" albums .but I like his stuff it's cool.....
I was in this crowd, at the end of the show while everyone was clapping and applauding for the group around me, I threw up two peace signs in the air. John nodded his head in my direction and threw them up back while he headed off stage. I will never forget that moment as long as I live. ✌️

I just recently discover Butler's music. What the hell I was listening before!? I have just listened his first album so there's so much music left to discover, I'm super happy and excited. I feel he's going to be one of the top artists in my life :,)

Visited Perth in 2001 and was fortunate to see a live gig with a much younger John Butler infront a much smaller crowd. His potential was undeniable then and it's fantastic to see his growth and recognition through the years. I still listen to him often with wonderful memories 20 years on. Amazing talent. Huge fan and I don't say that lightly.
John Butler is great artist, but his unique talent is underrated IMHO. Thank you for that performance, John Butler, thanks to all of you!

My wife & I saw watched this concert just about 1 year ago and flipped over John and his music. Just a couple of months later we got to see him live up in Rohnert Park, California. It was, for us, a night to remember and we remain huge fans.

Ocean was the introducing song to John Butler trio for me and always gives me chills, wow the live version is probably far better then studio!
I introduced my wife to John back when she and I met. If memory serves me correctly, I would say it was, "Groovin' Slowly" of course. lol Anyway, I think I stumbled onto "Ocean" way back when and also fell in love with him as an artist.
The pure, raw emotion that song induces is timeless and amazing! Lots of smiles and many tears.

So great to listen to music performed live where the singers actually sound amazing. Most modern "artists" can't sing for shit. JBT are simply awesome.
Beautiful recording work, really great sound..I have been a JBT fan for many years now The Album "Living" is an all time favourite. I remember the first JBT concert I went to John did a half hour version of pickapart it was absolutely mental...busted drums, broken guitar strings and a lather of sweat in the north queensland heat. John Butler is one the greatest entertainers ever.

I don’t know how I let music slip away in the last 8-10 years, I guess life took over and now I’m taking the time to absorb it back in. I’ve pulled my instruments back out too, let’s see how I can use life to influence and grow.
It was even better siting on the steps of the Opera House opposite the stage listening to this legend live!

Ocean Blew my mind as it always does - every single time I hear this masterpiece I’m being mind blown by it, and this live version was so amazing and refreshing that it was like the first time I heard Ocean and was blown to the edge of the entire universe and back by it, now I was blown to the edge of the universe and back once again.
If you haven't already, listen to his version from Live in Paris that came out this year. It's simply incredible
