Some people think his songs are very repetitive. Some are just that clickity clack beat that repeats with little melody... vocally hes clearly heavy on "chillie peppers" albums .but I like his stuff it's cool.....
I was in this crowd, at the end of the show while everyone was clapping and applauding for the group around me, I threw up two peace signs in the air. John nodded his head in my direction and threw them up back while he headed off stage. I will never forget that moment as long as I live. ✌️
I just recently discover Butler's music. What the hell I was listening before!? I have just listened his first album so there's so much music left to discover, I'm super happy and excited. I feel he's going to be one of the top artists in my life :,)

Visited Perth in 2001 and was fortunate to see a live gig with a much younger John Butler infront a much smaller crowd. His potential was undeniable then and it's fantastic to see his growth and recognition through the years. I still listen to him often with wonderful memories 20 years on. Amazing talent. Huge fan and I don't say that lightly.
Ocean Blew my mind as it always does - every single time I hear this masterpiece I’m being mind blown by it, and this live version was so amazing and refreshing that it was like the first time I heard Ocean and was blown to the edge of the entire universe and back by it, now I was blown to the edge of the universe and back once again.
I introduced my wife to John back when she and I met. If memory serves me correctly, I would say it was, "Groovin' Slowly" of course. lol Anyway, I think I stumbled onto "Ocean" way back when and also fell in love with him as an artist. The pure, raw emotion that song induces is timeless and amazing! Lots of smiles and many tears.
I'm honestly happy to see you singing real good band playing good band playing good I'm glad to be your fan I respectful of you always good for your song's
@@markspencer171 John Charles Wiltshire-Butler was born on 1 April 1975 in Torrance, California, to an Australian father, Darryl Wiltshire-Butler, and an American mother, Barbara (née Butler).[A] He was named after his paternal grandfather, John Wiltshire-Butler, a forestry worker who died fighting a bushfire in Nannup.[1] Butler has British, Bulgarian, and Greek ancestry through his father. His genealogy was investigated on an episode of the SBS Television series Who Do You Think You Are?, which aired on 1 November 2009.[2] The show traced his family history from his deceased grandfather's war diaries through to ancestors in Bulgaria and the events of the 1876 April Uprising.[3] In January 1986, after his parents divorced, Butler's father moved the family to Western Australia.[2][3] They eventually settled in Pinjarra, a small country town, and Butler attended the local primary and secondary schools.[4][5] He began playing guitar at the age of sixteen after his grandmother gave him a 1930s dobro belonging to his deceased grandfather.[3][6] In 1996, he attended Curtin University in Perth and enrolled in an art teaching course, but eventually abandoned his studies to pursue a career in music.[6][7] Some of his first musical performances were as a busker at the Fremantle Markets.[8] Butler was also participant in the Western Australian skateboarding scene,[9] and is recognised for his involvement with the internationally renowned "Woolstores" street spot in Fremantle.[10] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Butler_(musician)
So great to listen to music performed live where the singers actually sound amazing. Most modern "artists" can't sing for shit. JBT are simply awesome.
JBT and Missy Higgins collab on the run - was stunning and beautiful. You are such talented artists. JBT - no words to describe how your soulful music has soothed me through decades of growing up. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My wife & I saw watched this concert just about 1 year ago and flipped over John and his music. Just a couple of months later we got to see him live up in Rohnert Park, California. It was, for us, a night to remember and we remain huge fans.
Beautiful recording work, really great sound..I have been a JBT fan for many years now The Album "Living" is an all time favourite. I remember the first JBT concert I went to John did a half hour version of pickapart it was absolutely mental...busted drums, broken guitar strings and a lather of sweat in the north queensland heat. John Butler is one the greatest entertainers ever.
i saw this man live here in VA a few years back at my favorite concert venue around here....and still to this day...its been the best concert ive ever seen there...his music is just pure
This band getting more and more better. That additional percussion and smooth back vocals are amazing.. John and team, thanks for inspiring me for living for more than 10 years
Redescovering JBT today. I don’t know how I let music slip away in the last 8-10 years, I guess life took over and now I’m taking the time to absorb it back in. I’ve pulled my instruments back out too, let’s see how I can use life to influence and grow.
Excellent young Man.. got to shake his hand and chat in New Orleans last year and speak briefly about our current Global $tate.. I said "So few people are waking up and seeing things as they are John.." with a clam and reassuring smile he said "we are right now Brother".. nothing but Love and Respect of John
This has been the absolutely best way to start the day. I have my Martin, playing along when I can. Phenomenal concert! Jah Bless. With a little Love, we can Save the world- Amarante
God bless you, John! The audio recording quality on this is faultless. Such a great sound sound. unbelievable talent! Most underrated Australian artist. Dustin from stranger things on the drums!
So awesome to see! We were there for the first night and in the Opera bar for night two (and at the fence with my 9 year old on my shoulders jumping around to the always epic JBT). Can't wait to see them again.
Last nights show at Irroquois Park was absolutely amazing. It blows my mind how unknown he is! Honestly, I've seen 50+ shows in my lifetime, (that's not much to some people) and he is 100% in the top 5. Maybe top 2 or 3 period. As far as being one of the best guitarists ever? No doubt in my mind after seeing it live finally. I've seen Clapton, Bonnamaasa, Kenny Wayne Shephard, BB King, Carlos Santana, Joe Perry, etc etc and, as for me, he's in that list. (Even if most of the world doesn't know!) Enjoy the hell out of the show tonight!! Take some people with you that don't understand! I've considered making the drive from Lexington honestly. lol

Ocean, that's the song of yours that won me over. It's crafted so beautifully. I love it.
One more time. This is location, camera, crowd, entertainer, band, immersion, sound, Technique. Like DMB back in NY. Thank you.
