Excellent, sunset railway photography is right up my street. I particularly liked the merged image of the class 66 with the city lights/sunset in the background 👍
Many thanks, Kristof, there is great satisfaction in capturing a railway image in the fading (and best) light of the day, I do share you passion for this art!
Thanks 👍Robert, sunset is a favourite time, it was a stroke of luck getting that final image, I could easily have gone home but as it turned out its probably my favourite of the year.
Thats a really great comment and I’m glad you enjoyed it, I get real satisfaction in hunting out new railway views, you don’t always need the sun over your shoulder for a great railway photograph.
Thanks Darryl, doing the videos is great fun and really keeps you on your toes trying to juggle photography and videography, editing is incredibly time consuming though.
If people can i would recommend watching your video on their smart tv’s.. amazing shadows and lights Andrew. the one train with the red light reflection on it is amazing. The two train you caught is fabulous .. very enjoyable.. look forward to more.
Wow, thanks! I was really pleased how the last images turned out and if only I'd have composed better for the couple of passing freights, I'm so pleased you are enjoying the videos.
High quality vlog presented in a personable style - very watchable and the photos top notch. Dedication of the highest order standing in that field near Eggborough until whatever time!
Glad you enjoyed it, John, yes I did stay later than expected but I’m glad that last 66 turned up though, that one looks like its my favourite photo of the year so far.
Thank you so much, Peter, when the 60 arrived I knew there was a great opportunity, but I didn’t have the time to set up the tripod and my hand held shots are just Ok at best, but when I heard the 66 in the distance, I concentrated on getting prepared for that one and I’m really pleased with the result.
Thanks Rob, I don't mind hanging about by the line, the couple of locations out in the countryside were rather pleasant watching the sun go down. I'll have to look out for the Scarborough Spa, especially if the pair of 37 are on it.
@@AndrewShenton definitely,I think it runs this Thursday but goes via Wakefield Kirkgate this week, even the Dalesman be worth a look for you aswell but that’s goes Leeds-Wakefield Westgate-Wakefield Kirkgate back to York.
Loving what you do with light and post-processing, Andrew. The post, especially, is all part of the art these days. I've got a couple of railway friends who get bent well out of shape of light - I must get them to watch your vids for both inspiration and reassurance! 😂
Many thanks Andy, yes if only I’d have re-composed to get more of the loco on the main line, the chances of catching that again are less than slim. Thank you for getting the book, it’s appreciated and i’m super proud to be part of it.
Cheers, Mike, I’m glad you enjoy them I do enjoy putting them together too, as far as subscribers, I’m fairly new to TH-cam (6-7 months) and hopefully if folk find the videos interesting they’ll come back for more.
Hi Andrew, I'm new to your channel and I love it !! May I use the pic at 7:58 on my channel and/or as my desktop wallpaper ?? Stay safe and take care :)
Evening, thanks for subscribing and I hope you enjoy the content, can you send me a message - use my website andrewshenton.co.uk and the contact form and include your email address.
You have created some fabulous sunset and low light photographs in this video. I have only recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying your work - I am sure I will learn much about framing of shots. Thanks, Ian
Thanks and welcome Ian, Sunsets are one on my favourite times for railway photography, catching the low sun and light can transform what would be a fairly normal location at midday with a high sun. Hope you find the rest of the videos useful and enjoyable. Regards Andrew.
An excellent mix of stills and video, professionally produced, far better than the ones where you have to wait two minutes for anything to happen! Keep up the good work ( I follow you on Flickr).
Many thanks Alan, yes, I'm with you on the slow to action TH-cam videos, hopefully I keep the action flowing. A few of the images from this video will be going up on Flickr.
Andrew, really am enjoying your VLOG's. Excellent quality, some fantastic shots and you have a great presenting style. I am just starting out and trying to learn the basic's, your channel is really giving me the drive to go out and improve (just ordered the book by the way.) Keep up the excellent work. Cheers Darren
Much appreciated! Darren, you should certainly find inspiration in the Phoenix Book, there’s some stunning railway photography on show there. Many thanks for making the effort to comment too.

Many thanks, Andrew, those additional light did bring the shot more to life I think.
@@AndrewShenton yep I agree, a very nice addition to the image 👍

Well done Andrew, great entertainment.
Thanks, Andy. I think this was the highlight of my summer evening photography, summer has completely passed me by this year.
My type of images Andrew using the available light, always bags of atmosphere. very entertaining video. Last image was excellent.

Brilliant! Love these videos a lot. Can't wait till the next
Glad you like them! I’ve a few videos I need to edit, I need to get cracking with them!
Another cracking video, you must have some patience getting these sunset shots, shame no charters were due past Midland Road the day you were there.

Cracking video Andrew, some lovely shots in great conditions. Almost caught the 66 on the main line as well as the biomass at 16:55!

Great video as always Andrew, I've always loved sunset shots and you've done them justice here. Brilliant stuff👏
Cheers, Pete, sunsets and dusk are my favourite times for photography, some fantastic colours to be captured when the clouds are right.
Very informative and thought-provoking as ever Andrew.
Thanks, Peter, you don’t always need the sun over your shoulder, in fact some of my favourite railway photos have been taken looking into the sun.

Fantastic to see some of the trains I deal with at GBRf's control in action!

Thanks, I’m using the mirrorless Canon EOS-R for photography and Canon EOS-70D for the video.
Lovely stuff as always Andrew! Out of interest what camera do you use as your vlogging camera? Cheers!
Thanks Joe, for the video I use my old DSLR a Canon EOS-70D, its really useful in that it has the flip out screen for filming.
Any more videos coming?
Thanks Mark, yes I’ve actually 4 outing all filmed, just have to make time for editing, I’m hopefully getting one out at the weekend.
