    The blue lighting at the end makes it look like a bright moon-lit night. Those "hidden' reverse loops can be tricky to notice, but the crossings help create the look of a busy railway, so glad you sorted it out.

      This scale has given so much in a very short period of time. It’s magical to imagine, create and also let things unfold naturally. The crossings are special and worth the effort. Easier to say, now sorted. It’s great to get inside these layouts we make and, after all the doing just be…

    Looking good. I am all building a TT 120 layout Dog bone shape, yes black to the back on an oval if you stand in the middle.
    Also a sound engineer at the local Church.❤

      This sounds great Steven. Good to hear that you’re into music too. Love the challenge of getting the sound in your head coming out of the monitors as a mixed song and the ideas onto a layout and becoming a reality. 🙏

    Fabulous layout! One of the best TT120 layouts I've seen! Love your home studio too!! Being a Guitar player, this would be my ideal setup! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!!!

      Thanks 🙏 us Musomodelers are not as rare as I first thought. It’s a fine line between modeling vs videoing. My guitar finger ends are getting soft with all this TT though!

      @modeloco Aye! My layout is considerably smaller - a 5ft 00 Inglenook.....too much drumkit in the way!
      Good video series, excited about the possibilities for TT120.

    I’ve been watching all your videos so far. Try to remember there aren’t any bends on a railway only curves. get rid of those track nails,and get yourself a bottle of Aleenes tacky glue. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

    When using those connector blocks 13:51 I cut the supplied busbars in half. That way you can have 6 red and 6 black on the same unit. Much neater and easier to use IMO.

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I like that idea. I’ll have at least 48 feeds once The Willow Brook and Saffron Bank ends are completed with Shiredale in the centre so, do need the extra blocks but, yes going side by side being a great option too

    Finding your videos very helpful. Just wish I wasn't stuck trying to get my ideas down onto paper, as I'm not sure what elements I want to include and whether I want a loop line or an end-to-end layout. Plus creating a fictional railway has me stumped also.

    • @modeloco

      Thank you 🙏 Did you spot this bit on my ml5 video….
      This link will take you straight to it th-cam.com/video/aoe3LjjokB4/w-d-xo.html
      It’s not easy trying to juggle all the many factors involved so I ask myself Why, When, Where, What & Which Way in this part of the video.
      Plus, there’s that fear of committing to something that may not work out as planned but, as the old saying goes, if you don’t try, you’ll never know.
      From my experience, the clearer the vision and confidence, the better the outcome.
      On my first video ever I committed to a £300 spend on bits to design & build a OO gauge Locolift that I refused to let little leprechauns in my head ruin and that I must get back to… The TT opportunity was just a bit too good to miss, no regrets.

      @@modeloco Thank you, that was very helpful. I'm gonna spend the afternoon pouring through old issues of Hornby magazine and try to get some ideas for what I'd like to see on my own layout.

    The easiest way to have resolved your ‘pos / neg’ issue would have been to have a reverse loop module on each loop. That way a full train would be in your balloon loop and be detected in the loop. I put ‘pos / neg’ in quotes as on AC the pos/neg is not the correct term but for most numpties like me and when using black and red wire the term works.

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you John 🙏. My dilemma was having a double track with both inner and outer loops crossing back and forth, which in this scenario would have meant 4 reverse loop modules I’m guessing, whereas I’m using two at present?

    Hi done a brilliant job with your layout and for me as a new tt120 fan just wondering if I was to fit or buy trains with him 7000 chips could I still run them on a dc layout if I don’t use the app to control them or would it still burn out the chips if you know what I mean hope you can help with this

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, thank you for your support and comments. I smoked a chip when I tried running a standard TT:120 Flying Scotsman, out of the box, in analogue mode on my Elite. At that time, this was said to be possible. It isn’t the case now and actually never was. I run all my layouts and locomotives in DCC so, I’d only used analogue mode as the new DCC chips, at that time, weren’t on sale. Last time I looked into this Hornby had updated their instructions to say, that this set up isn’t possible so, in my humble opinion I’d say, avoid DC at all costs with these new chips, unless you follow Hornby’s current guidelines, by using their current options and specified power supplies in the way they state. If at all in doubt contact Hornby Customer Services before trying anything you’re unsure of 👍

    I wonder if you could measure the space used for your dumbell return loop from the end of double straight under your studio. Trying to plan out a TT120 line that will have return loops either end so need to know max depth from both walls. Hope that makes sense, sorry if you have stated this somewhere and I missed it.

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question and will do 👍 it’s quite deceiving as I’ve a double track using Hornby geometry, 2nd and 3rd radius and you need that ‘S’ bend return. I got it as tight as possible at that end. Remind me if I forget this week. Just a bit tied up at present

    • @johndunford6082

      @johndunford6082 irony had me in Cornwall first time and Wales when you sent reminder. Good news is, back now but, on reading your question again and looking at this, I am a little confused as to the measurement you require as my loop board is slightly tapering out. So I don’t give you wrong advice could you be a little more specific?

    Hi again what do you use to fit the railjoiners to the track I'm strugling
    Thanks,
    Steve

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take an off cut of rail to match the rail joiners and bend a heel on one end in a vice or, by using pliers/mole grips. You can then offer a joiner onto the end and then offer it onto the prepared track. See Modeloco Video ml14 about 10mins in.

      On points I use an off cut of track too to push insul joiners on in pairs if room allows. Hope this helps Steve.
