Greetings, all! Hope you're enjoying the longplay! As many of you have pointed out, this looks very much like a Mario Kart rip-off. Honestly, that's the best way I can describe it after spending time making this longplay. Someone had recommended it to me, and with as many kart racers as I have played both old and new, I walked away feeling a bit underwhelmed. No drift-boosting? No interesting mechanics? License tests that force you to revisit specific tests in order to progress in the Grand Prix cups? It is very much of a "middle-lane" game; there's nothing of substance here besides some of the Konami characters present here. Speaking of which, Goemon, Gray Fox, that dude from Power Pro Baseball, and a rendition of Dracula not seen in any of the Castlevania games? Was this really the best roster Konami could muster here? How did we not get Solid Snake, Bomberman, or even flippin' Frogger??? I would have even accepted a chibi version of James Sunderland or Pyramid Head just to get some Silent Hill representation here! This wasn't an awful game, but in my eyes, the worst game anyone can make is one that is mediocre and does nothing to differentiate itself. Super disappointed.
I was not impressed either… initially. But I stuck with it, and I have to say I really enjoy this game now. The stiff controls are unattractive at first, but ultimately they make for a unique feel that you can’t really find in any other kart racer. It feels almost a bit sim-like, actually. You can’t just powerslide your way through every course: you have to actually learn how to corner, be deliberate with your jumps, minimize your oversteer, etc. How many other kart racers can you name where those kind of things come into play? Even though it took a while to get used to, I’d have to say this was definitely one of the most rewarding titles I’ve experienced in the genre, though it’s admittedly not as exciting on the surface as Super Circuit.
I’ve been on the lookout for this game for a while as I’ve been interested in this game for a long time but never found a copy in the wild CiB or loose. Hopefully I’ll find it before it gets expensive. Either way Great Longplay as Always Longplayarchive.
From my time in the retro game market, folks are trying to upcharge old games for more than their actual worth. So, I wouldn't hold my breath on nabbing a real copy of this for less than $100 at the moment.
There are a lot of Konami IPs that deserved a spot on the roster. If they made a sequel today, I'm sure it'd be bigger with more Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Rumble Roses, Bomberman, Contra, etc. I can't imagine this sold well enough, hence why we never got a sequel.

There is a Metal Gear Solid stage though... doesn't that count for something ? It even has awesome music

Konami Krazy Racers, released in 2001, is a great Konami racing game, a few months before Mario Kart: Super Circuit in the same year.
Also released on Ios, Android as Konami Krazy Kart Racing.
Epic Mario Kart clone!
They got Pastel's name wrong, she is misspelt as "Pastl" in the results screen
But boy, you forgot the secret characters :(
This game is Parodius Racing in all but name!
18:50 Did they rip off music from Metal Gear Solid?!
@Wilson Nascimento Oh.
No Bill Riser from Contra? Thanks for the video LPA.
