I've once spent $1000 on a rare Japan lottery exclusive Bakugan so even though I'm not into Funko Pop nor will I ever be; I won't be quick to judge those with wider pockets than mine. ^^; Not to mention those with bigger cabinet space...
I collect Funkos myself but since I buy only the ones from stuff I am actually a fan of and because I'm a broke student and live in Germany I could never see myself spending that amount of money on them

My problem isn't the collecting, I think they're cool and all (I've got one too)... It's more the price. Sorry, $13,000 for a freaking toy is kind of extremely ridiculous. The $8 ones, fine, but really, why pay that much? Of course, this is not the case for all of them, just the horribly expensive ones.
Those Funko parties must make a fortune. So elaborate looking and everyone there acting too damn excited. They make it look like those little bobble head things are more popular than the franchises they're based on.
I mean I like Funkos... but there is no way I'd pay over 20 for a regular sized one... I'd go a little higher on oversized... They just aren't THAT important. Not worth standing in line overnight for either.

everyone has their own reasons to collect, I think mine was a bit of the fandom and rarity in certain styles. the first one i ever got was a see through Predator (camouflage) which i no longer see any of. Its good and bad because for one, I know it's probably one in several hundred but bad because the neck is broken and i have no way to get a replacement. oh well, here comes the hot glue gun.

I have over 200 funko pops, mainly Star Wars (making up half of my collection) I use to own the New York Comic Con exclusive of Qui Gon Jinn, only 2000 were made and now averge sells are around $360-400. I traded it for a Tony The Tiger, Sonny the Cuckoo, Trix Rabbit and Lucky the Leprechaun

Biggest sell I ever got from one of my Funkos was a Red Skull that I sold for $500. I'm honestly amazed at some of the prices I've been able to sell for considering the series weren't that big, but ended up becoming rare because of it.

I like collecting them but never thought to look up there value until recently. I got curious so I looked up all my figures. I wasn't surprised that most of them are valued at what I paid for, with a few exceptions. But none of the those seemed to be worth more than $30 dollars. However, I was surprised to find that the first pop I ever bought was worth $130 dollars. I would never sell it because it's my favorite but It's funny that something that has just been sitting on my self was worth that much.
