Great to see a man loving his fishing and smiling at the same time ,Regards from Ireland. Keep up the good work Matt . Love your tips on fishing and your uploads , Really enjoy your videos Mate .Regards Pat
Top marks for grit and determination Matt, well done, & you didn't blank. That feeling you were describing about just wanting to catch something, anything - yes I know it well, I have that feeling every time I go fishing! I didn't get around to leaving a comment on your last video on lures - brilliant - I always find them helpful, thanks very much.
Always used to make stinger rigs with knotless knot (along with fixed pennels) but started making what can maybe describe as a mini dongle with braid. Can hook it onto whatever rig/hook you are already using, size 4/0 circle is ideal. Have even started putting the setup out on the float.
Great video love the slo mo cast footage. I found what you said about just catching any thing. I've been in so many situations where any thing will do from the smallest whiting or tiny dog fish or a humble little dab. A catch is a catch. Yeah I know we all want that big catch there is nothing quite like a 5lb pluss bass but I would rather catch something smaller than nothing at all. Great video as always mate All the best tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Nice again mr saltwater, certainly unusually quiet on parts of the Sussex coastline at the moment, even the whiting are not around in numbers. I was out the other night and scratched a couple of fish but at best one could only describe it as the garment worn under trousers at the moment 🙄.That desperation for a fish … any fish on an outing seems to sit with us all , of course it’s Great to be out but the craving for a fishy fix never leaves you. I’m sure once the whiting return them stingers need to be deployed as the bass won’t be far behind them…. Sadly weather not looking favourable just yet , Thanks for sharing
Rounded end baiting needle’s has been a bit of an unexpected revelation. Makes putting worms snoods much easier and much less likely to pop them . Would recommend especially for blow lug
i seem to remember back in the early 80s you could buy hooks with two points on them like treble with one hook cut off they came supplied with a type of baiting needle to load it you just squeezed the hook points together an put them in the baiting needle a slid the bait on i cant find them any where now cant even remember who made them
I remember those too. I'm sure they were a cox & rawle product ?. They were great for pennel rigs. I've still got a couple of those nice stiff baiting needles; None of the hooks though.
Great video, Matt, as always! Quick question: I fish the South East Coast, and all I seem to find are those old, wrinkly wrapped lugworms. Where can I get fresh worms like the ones you use? Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
Most tackle shops sell fresh outs "wriggler" But supply is limited phone ahead to places like Tonys Tackle - Mine were from Hastings Angling centre all trade is reliant on tides and weather for their diggers so its not an exact science
Recently I’ve been down Gorleston pier and all I’ve been catching is whiting and smoothys hopefully over the next month or so I can catch my self something else
Tried rock a nore off the last jetty last Friday on the dusk high tide for bass on the lure but nothing taking lovely sunset though thanks for the vids👍
lovely bit of fishing, got a new section for the Penn rod?. if you flick the nose of a lugworm with your finger it will stiffen up which makes it easier to bait your hook.
I sometimes have to remind myself what I said to my son: It it's there we'll catch something. Plenty of times there is just nothing there when shore angling. Last session, something was there and I was expecting something else - that led to a bite no real hook up and lost it nearly at my feet. Of course, will target that next time and something else will come along or will blank.... Such is shore fishing.
Always enjoy watching and learning thank you 👍💯🖖

Yes indeed good tip on the lug. Ill have to look for a tip section for it
Hi, great video, is there any advantages or disadvantages between a 2 piece rod compared to a 3 piece?
A good quality 3 piece will feel and cast the same as a two but with the advantage of easier to travel with
@SaltwaterAngler OK thank you.
When was you down there Matt? Looks to me like Eastbourne? Hopefully going there Saturday all going well?
do you know any good beaches round the south west coast around dorset??
