  • When it comes to installing a turbine engine in the back of a composite helicopter, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring fire safety. 🔥 Over the last few weeks, we’ve been conducting rigorous tests on various candidate materials for the HX50 firewall, designed to protect the helicopter’s sensitive composite structures from heat and fire hazards.
Now that you’ve had an inside look into the latest developments at Hill Helicopters, sign up for a group presentation to preorder your own HX50 👉 www.hillhelico...
Mischa Gelb (aka Pilot Yellow) and Ruben Dias, ambassadors for the HX50, will outline all the highlights of this unique helicopter and answer any questions you might have.

Ceramic tile material similar to what was used on the shuttle ?

Wouldn't it be cool if you could get the heat resistant tiles they used on the underside of the space shuttle

Presumably, there will be an engine bay fire suppression system, either controlled by the Pilots or set to operate automatically once fire has been detected.
Is the objective to extinguish the fire completely, to buy the crew sufficient time to land, or to meet a certification specification?
I ask because I don't know if the certification specification allows for either of these options.
