What a great episode! I remember when I was in school in the late 70s they called me space cadet which back then was very derogatory. The closest thing I can compare myself to was the boys on stranger things. As I have said on my channel a few times being born in 1965 when I first became aware of sci-fi it was Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Star Trek original series and space 1999 thrn Star Wars blew everything out of space.
I agree with Josh about Clash of the Titans and the Medusa scene especially. At least for 1 year of my childhood, I thought that was the coolest movie. Medusa is one of my favorite scary/creepy villains. I had the whole toy line, small as it was, my Kraken, Godzilla and Rodan had some rumbles too.
Great choice for Pod Stallions! I think I'll always prefer the 1981 version over the 2010 remake... just something about this film that is so enduring and enjoyable with the passing of time.
Brian, dude this is GREAT. It instantly made my hellish week much better listening to this episode. Hearing Josh talk about how much Clash Of The Titans meant to him really struck a chord with me because I was the same way. That movie was as important to me as Star Wars, I went through a phase where I watched it every day before school when I first got it on video when I was 9 or 10! The Harryhausen stuff in general was so important to me as a kid, and still is. And the toy line, while too brief, still makes me swoon. Thanks for this episode guys, it really helped brighten my day. Cheers. - Larry
Great movie the Kraken was awesome, the newer one is pretty good, but its hard to beat being a young kid in the early 80s seeing the kraken and medusa on the big screen.
I've been watching your channel on and off for a couple of weeks, I'm a vintage toy collector myself and although I only have a few Mego related items in my collection, I find your content refreshing and extremely interesting. I've actually purchased a couple of Megos since viewing your channel 😁 Keep up the awesome work 😉
I was just going to sleep and I had to find this.........no sleep for me. I want Jason and Brian MEGO lenticular cards Josh generously gifts THUNDARR FIGURES! Wow! Sooo Ultra rare! Medusa was real? For reals?
Hey Izzo, would you rather have had a Lovecraftian Clash of the Titians? Idk if that would be scarier. Lol!! Two, Too, 2 Boobos? Wore out those molds eh? The Caroline Munro Sinbad figure!
I remember a story about the clash of the Titans remake where they had wanted to add boo boo to the remake movie and the actor playing Perseus said he walk if they added him ( I remember I was pissed about hearing that.) They only were able to do a quick cameo? Why? Because he thought it was silly and stupid. Are you kidding me? To be in a remake where your disgusted about a character in the actual original movie? That's pretty insulting. I hope it was just heresay but I don't think it was.
@@BrickMantooth I'll never understand how they could completely trash the original source material when there slapping the title to there remake. I still remember RoboCop remake... what's he looks like? Oh that's stupid make him black.
Awesome show... I think I remember seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark and this one back to back weekends
sounds right.
Real fun episode. The talk about the Clash of the Titans customs made me stop in my tracks.
Yeah, Josh is really doing some fun things.

thanks for listening, pretty sure i got called "Space Cadet" a few times in my life, I always found the people saying it kind of boring anyway.

I can barely remember the remake.
Brian, Krull's "Prince Colwyn" was named after my home town of "Colwyn" and even I haven't finished the movie. Unlike Krull, I LOVED this podcast.
One of my favorite of the harryhausen films.

Yeah, I was ten, and what perfect timing.
The Kraken was/is not a part of the mythos of Ancient Greece. You bit a worthless trivia for the day.
Clash of the Titans was one of the two first VHS tapes I rented as a kid. The other was Condor Man.
That beats the first two i ever rented, laser blast and Stripes. Although I got a lot of nudity...
@@BrickMantooth I loveeeee laser blast ...that movie deserves an Oscar!!!
This was great. Thank you
aw I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Hey, the Megaforce matchbox cars were cool!
I'm pretty sure Neil McCarthy wasnt in Gargoyles. But Josh gets a pass from me because both those makeup designs always reminded me of each other.
Right, Goliath is Keith David from "They Live" and "The THing".
I know what I’ll be doing for the next hour👍
happy to hear it. We taped this a month ago so i may listen as i've forgotten it.

No books at Brain’s Carnadian Library
You guys should check out Ulysses 31.
I remember it from when it aired on ABC.
Are there still plans to do a follow up pod on this subject with the same guest since you couldn't cover everything?
Oh yeah, I'd love to do more Harryhausen.
