Jack Cassidy was the father of David Cassidy and Shaun Cassidy. He was married to Shirley Jones. Also, He was a three-time guest star/ murderer in the original Columbo movies. In December 1976, Jack Cassidy died in fire in an apartment building.
There is an animated movie that came out about 10 years ago called "A Monster in Paris". I haven't seen it but a friend of mine says that it is a mash-up of Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast.
Phantom Of The Paradise saw way too young in theaters but somehow always remembered it. By some weird luck, I've seen the actual plastic injection machine at Pressman Toys (board game maker) which in the movie is a record press for vinyl records and causes the Phantom to be mutilated.
Whenever you talk about "Cacoon" would mind saying: "with Linda Harrison"? :) I love that this was recorded around Oct 20th and Jason is feeling sad for the end of Halloween. It hits me very hard too. Meanwhile, it is Nov 1st and I'm trying to eek out j...u...s..t one more...day. Great episode. Lots of fun. FYI, Phantom of Paradise is free on Amazon.
The original B+W is most definitely the best of the Phantoms. The musical is probably my second choice. Got to see it on stage way back. All the rest are just a huge pile of 'eh, that was okay.' The book is pretty good too.

You are already setting up your future "Dean Koontz" epidode: you can talk about Phantoms and Demon Seed there.

Hallmark horror movies ... you might be describing the 'Beauty and the Beast' tv show
Hey this podcast has not posted to any of the pod catchers. I'd like to listen to it on my commute

My favorite Halloween movie isn't scary, It's "Fun Size". That movie is great!
