I was a heroin addict for 14 years, switched to fentanyl smoking 3 years ago after nearly loosing my life to injecting heroing and meth/coke. I got an extremely bad abscess and blood infection. I thought smoking fentanyl was the lesser of two evils even tho I knew it was often times fatal. The tolerance I had to opiates was sky high. But the tranq and fentanyl quickly became soul consuming. It overtook me harder than heroin ever did. I have 13 months clean and sober today and just got hired to work as a peer support specialist (if my background check comes back okay, which has me stressed)with other addicts and homeless people. After being a part of the problem for so long , I might be able to be part of the solution. If you're still using and you read this by some chance, getting clean is possible, and so worth it. Life's to short to waste on drugs.

I’m 1 day out of rehab, clean from fentanyl an tranq. I live in Philadelphia an it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I was deathly sick for 2 weeks an 150 mil of methadone didn’t even touch or help my withdrawal. I’m so happy that’s over an glad to be alive. I seriously thought I was going to die right there on the floor in rehab. I pray for everyone going through this bc it’s not an easy thing.

I understand what you are going through. My daughter was a heroin addict and she disappeared for over a year, my grandchildren would pray for her all the time and some days I woke up sobbing and praying for God to protect her. She was came home one day and I made her go to the hospital. She was found to have cancer and passed away within less than a year. I am so grateful that she didn't die in the streets. I'm praying for you and your son that he will come home and be able to get his life back together. Just keep praying for him is sometimes all you can do ❤

Former heroin user here... I've been clean for 10 years or so, had 1 over dose which was directly from fentanyl. For anyone that may be a current user watching/reading this, there really is a better way to live! I thought it was all BS too and sitting where I am today, I couldn't have imagined it when I was using. Please get help! Life is so much better not using!

I shot herion for 17 years, I got clean and my first day with no drugs was 4/19/19. Fentanyl was becoming pretty big in my city for a year or so before I got clean. Within a year or so of getting clean I lost four fairly close friends to fentanyl. I'm glad as hell that I quit when I did.

This is pretty informative on the drug! I’m an EMT and my state sent out a letter to all us EMS workers to look out for this drug. It’s scary how strong drugs have gotten where we have to use so much more Naloxone to reverse an OD than before. I hope any struggling addicts can get clean and stay sober, I personally know how hard it is
Protect yourself, get home to your family. My father died a month ago, he was covered in sores and his legs were peeling. I couldn't understand why all the emergency personnel left him uncovered and naked. Well, his room was littered with paraphernalia, now knowing more I fully understand. The room had fent and tranq in it. They need to get home safe, just like you. Thank you for what you do and the help you give.

Officially been clean for more years than I used this year 🎉 Around the time I got clean is when fentanyl really started creeping into the streets and taking over h, but we were all TERRIFIED of it. People didn’t want it! Now it’s all people want and it has completely taken over and replaced h. Which I didn’t think it could get worse than that, aside from krokodil of course. I’ve heard it is even harder to get clean, the withdrawals are way worse. More similar to methadone. I pray all the addicts out there find the motivation or “that thing” that is finally enough for them to get clean & heal through their pain that made them start using in the first place. One love ❤
That's when I got clean. I was a heroin addict through and through I didn't want it. And after trying it I'm pretty sure I'm allergic anyway I didn't want fetty or tranq. So it actually helped me get clean. Sad that so many people are actually addicted to this horrible stuff 😢
I was put on fentanyl years ago for pain management. I have severe debilitating fibromyalgia and muscle issues. I had no idea what I was taking at the time. I barely remember 2 years of my life, I was a complete zombie and could barely function. It was horrific and that was only a low medicinal dose. God help anyone who can't get off this stuff
Wow, you must be super sensitive to it. My mom and grandma both had fentanyl patches and it just dulled their pain. My mom still needed the Vicodin
it's an amazing drug when used correctly. I was in the hospital with someone who basically broke their back and they were screaming in pain. One injection of fentanyl later, and they were conversing happily with a nurse. It has its uses. What we really need though, is some kind of non habit forming version of these pain killing drugs...

I get that. After the car knocked me off my bike the Baptist hospital had me on a drip, morphine, till the V.A. got hold of me. 3 days and 4 nights strapped to a cot. Detox! Yea V.A.😡 I'm better off for it! Close call. Oh yeah; 123 stitches, 42 broken bones 35 pounds of plaster cast. 5 days later and the v.a. says nope, not in this hospital. They still don't give veterans more messed up than me norco?🤔

@@RobertNowagarskiThis is untrue. Strictly speaking, something that can be used in the same way as opiates without addiction absolutely does not exist. There do exist other analgesics that provide a comparable level of pain relief, but they are meant for VERY acute use only, as they are not just analgesic but particularly anesthetic in function. That is, they provide the effect of general anesthesia - like the mini coma you get from them for surgeries - in an immediate way, before overdose level. They also tend to block memory formation, and risk brain damage, kidney failure, and so on. Volatile anesthetics are used in many acute instances. This includes things like laughing gas, which is one that many people are likely aware of. & as most people know, we do use it in the US.
For persistent pain, opiates are given because they are the safest option.
Also, people get addicted to and abuse anesthetics. The one talked about in this video is an example, lol. So... Yeah.
And here I thought that there isn't a more horrible drug than krokodil...

My gf had to get both arms amputated due to tranq. That shit is real. She lives with that pain everyday now.
I recently started Suboxone maintenance therapy, also went to rehab first to wean off benzos. So I'm now 4 weeks clean of benzos and 5 weeks clean of opioids.
I had RX for diazepam for 12 years, then in May when I ran out of them I developed delirium tremens and gnarly seizures/convulsions. It was my fifth seizure related to benzo withdrawals so I realized I have to wean myself for good while still alive.
In december I'm also starting hep C treatment, so I'm finally getting rid of it after a couple of decades. Luckily the bloodworks, liver biopsies and ultrasound imaging have confirmed there's no damage in my liver.

This is scary as hell. My little brother is addicted to meth and fentanyl right now. My dad recently passed and he’s gotten really bad. He lives halfway across the country and never has a phone. I miss him.

About a year and half ago. I was on meth really bad and heroin. I never injected though. All my years of ever doing any drugs. I never would shoot up. I took meth everyway you could take it but shoot up. Even a few different ways up my butt basically. One way you mix it with water and with syringe with out a needle inject the water mix up your butt. To this day I still can't explain what they felt like. Like a alien was pulling me soul from my body or a god. That's how i described it to someone while high. I told them it was the scariest feeling and best feeling possible. No way shooting up could feel better. Anyways i went old turkey about a year and half ago. Worst almost three weeks of my life. I made it through though. Your brother can too. I was on meth bad and heroin.

@@Botman1234 that's not how it works. First, I don't have the money to fly across country and find him. Second, I'm disabled and can't drive. Third, you can't just force addicts to get help. It just doesn't work if they don't want it.
I went out there after my dad passed and talked to him but it didn't help. He actually ended up disappearing while I was there.
I work at a detox center. we had a client come in detoxing from tranq dope. This individual had a horrible open wound on his leg that resembled a burn mark. He unfortunately left after 3 days to go back to the streets. Stuff like this breaks my heart but reminds me why the work I do is so crucial. Fuck whoever decided that fentanyl wasn't deadly enough on its on.

Ugh, that's horrible. As a kratom addict who got sober this past year, I know how hard that was to get off of and the feeling of being trapped in the addiction cycle. But I can't imagine being addicted to something that strong and having to suffer those consequences in the meantime.
Can I ask how you came off kratom? A friend has been trying to come off it for years & always goes back to it.
@zoehansen_ So it sounds like your friend has come off of it before successfully, meaning they have gotten past the acute withdrawal stage? But then they fail to stay off of it? If that's the case, it's important to keep two things in mind first and foremost:
1. Beyond the acute withdrawal period (which lasted about 5 days for me), it's common to have post-acute withdrawal symptoms (PAWS) after quitting kratom, opiates, or other hard drugs. This means it can take several months to feel completely normal again after quitting, as the brain repairs itself. It's important to set expectations for this and prepare coping skills. For example, how does one self soothe without kratom when your nerves are randomly getting restless and you can't sleep for example? For me, I found that exercise or just kicking and thrashing around in bed for several minutes if I couldn't sleep helped replace the missing endorphins my brain was lacking from years of kratom abuse. prepare to feel bad for a while, but remember that things will get better slowly with time. Having a healthy diet, good sunlight exposure, plenty of exercise, and as good a sleep schedule as possible are essential during this period. There's a lot more I could write about coping skills, but this comment would be way too long.
2. One must have a good reason to quit and stay clean from addictive drugs like kratom. For me, the reason was that I hated that I felt the need to hide it from my family, and I also knew that my tolerance was unsustainable and couldn't be reset easily, so kratom use had reached a dead end. They should write these things down and keep them close to reference when feeling cravings to use kratom again, to remember why they quit and all that they would be throwing away if they relapse.
Beyond these, it's worth seeking addiction counseling and/or joining a local recovery group. Also a good idea for them to tell people after they quit so they have some social accountability. There's no single easy answer, and for some people they're using to self-medicate a deeper mental pain, so it's important to also take inventory of these things and seek help for any underlying issues. Hopefully that helps some. Quitting kratom is very hard work, but it is possible with the right will and frame of mind.

@@zoehansen_i quit fentanyl cold turkey multiple times and i jus drank and smoked weed for the first 4-5 days when shit was really bad but it’s all mental from there fr jus comes down to wanting to or not . i wanted to go back to the drugs so i did . since the last time i quit i’ve planned to stay sober and have it’s been roughly a year and i haven’t relapsed because i quite literally don’t want to , i can’t , i have to many responsibilities and things i want to do that you simply cannot being an addict to anything MUCH less fentanyl . a lot of addicts lie to themselves and can’t be honest , but straight up how it is , if u don’t wanna quit u won’t . if you wanna quit you will . it’s not easy , but if you support em and they believe in themself anyone can do it we’re all strong enough .

Unfun fact: In 2008 (before the Fentanyl crisis), there were only 3,000 deaths from Heroin overdoses in the U.S (where heroin was the only drug found in their system, not mixed with other stuff). That's less than Tylenol overdoses. We don't have an Opioid crisis, we have a fentanyl crisis.
Thank you! People who truly need opiates to function/ have some quality of life are treated like criminals. Now they are doing complete hysterectomies and other major surgeries with just Tylenol and Motrin. One extreme to the other and we all suffer due to others bad decisions.
To be fair, heroin existed on it's own for decades before Oxy was being prescribed to stay at home moms who strained their backs picking up a too heavy load of laundry. Before that only hard core users were affected by heroin. What over-prescribing led to was non-junkies becoming addicted. That being said, fentanyl is definitely a major problem. Drug abuse on it's own was (for the most part) a problem but we were able to manage it before all these super powerful variables came into play.
@@AC-01- My fear of opioids was so high that even though i got 3 major bariatric surgeries. I turned down morphine and oxy because i didn't want to risk getting hooked. Luckily I'm in my late 30's so I was relatively young enough to just push through the pain.

I’m also a recovering addict recovering from fentanyl. Struggled on and off for 10 years. 16 months sobriety and working as a peer specialist helping others recover from their addiction and live a thriving life. I mainly work with women prone to reincarceration. Im also pursing my masters to become a licensed professional counselor specializing in drug and alcohol addiction. I’ve faced death many times and my life had been spared by God many times. I know my purpose is to help those who are still suffering find purpose in their pain.

My little sister is an addict. Tried to help her many times but every time I got hurt.
Last time I helped her, she stole all my mothers jewellery and all my cash before disappearing out the window in the middle of the night.
She clearly doesn't want to get better or care about hurting her family, so I've cut her out of my life.
Far as I'm concerned now, I don't have a sister. You can only help people who want to be helped.
Don't give up on her. Addiction makes ppl do things that they wouldn't do otherwise. Money and jewelry can be replaced family cannot.

There's a bar across the street from my house - it's a family-friendly place and a decent neighborhood - and I've been known to cut loose there a time or two. One night, not too long ago, I bumped into an old schoolmate who I hadn't seen in YEARS! He was joking about Tranq, I didn't think anything of it, had my share of beer, and walked home.
The next day, I noticed his car in the parking lot. Laughing to myself, thinking he was just sleeping things off, I walked over to wake him up.
There was no waking him up. Not then, not ever. He wasn't joking.

What ordinary people forget, is that drug use is a form of self medication. And, they don't ask themselves WHY the use of drugs has exploded GLOBALLY. _Something is clearly very, very wrong in our societies when younger people choose to use drugs instead of embracing their lives._
(My little sister got hooked on hard drugs and she ended her own life in front of a train in 2020.)
The break down of society on a both a institutional, Moral, and values lvl is the reason drug use has skyrocketed. The war of drugs failed sure but that doesn't mean we should do a 180 and just let it run. My city went from small amounts with minimal deaths to people lying dead in the streets. Even injection centers that people claim to help aren't working because there's simply not enough medical staff on hand to handle the problem.

It's stupid that a country like the US, with the most advanced surveillance network on earth, can't just do away with these drug dealers. There is simply no excuse for it. Singapore's strategy has worked very well for them.
Just execute the dealers; simple. Put pressure and fear into them until none of them are left. The sociopaths selling these kinds of drugs make any social programs ineffective. They make thousands of dollars off this stuff just so they can buy hookers and flashy cars. 100k deaths a year is simply terrorism and should have been dealt with accordingly.
Sorry to hear man. I did heroin/hard drugs for about 15 years and drugs in general for like 25. I'm 41 now and clean for 10 years. Yes it began around 15 years old. You get to a point where you truly feel taking your life is the only way out. I too lost my sister to drugs. It a very difficult place to get out of. EVERYTHING has to change. I moved 3 hours away from home for almost 2 years to get where I am today.
14 years on heroin and 3 on fentanyl till June 18 23. Yesterday made 7 months clean. Boy I sure did some crazy stuff. I lived in hotels and supported my drug habits by making sure money was exchanged after dates with prostitutes took place. Easy money wild life style. I eventually got sick of living with drug addicted prostitutes and at times we lived like stray cats but we always had all the drugs you could want. If you can think of something crazy you can bet Iv done it. Iv found some peace now and life is pretty good. I'm lucky a trip to prison never came and I got out at the right time for me. Let's all pray for those still in active addiction. It takes huge balls to make the change and the world seems to fight it at every turn. Street drugs are bad.

Spent some time reading this comment section and it made me realize what horrors people addicted to these drugs go through. I’m sure it feels great but the consequences can’t be worth it.
I've been clean 19 years. When I first stopped using I had to learn how to apreciate and enjoy simple things. Things like conversation with others and going for a walk. Drugs had been my go to in order to feel 'good' so I realised I better find healthy ways to feel 'good' if I was going to stay clean. Apparently Kirstie Alley, the famous actress/model replaced cocaine with flower arranging. I've done both and can say they feel very different from each other!😅

Not only that, but also that many people are going though issues with addiction. People you usually dont see in your daily routine, or Issues which are commonly hidden by the people affected.
My mother has a case of Fibromyalgia and I am always invested in checking which meds she gets prescribed so that she wont end up developing an addiction.

@@Prplex.I tried to research it and apparently it just knocks you out. No actual dissociation or trip like Ketamine or PCP. It's mainly just used to make cut doses of opiates appear more potent. Tricking the junkies that they got more than they paid for
I quit smoking meth in 2020. I am so thankful I did, because I am certain I was heading towards being a stat line in these studies.

I got some nasty infections from injecting meth and missing my veins. Pretty common in iv meth users. It was horrible. Luckily the worst was on my arm and not my neck where I ended up injecting into my jugular. I feel so lucky to have gotten away from drugs before this stuff. I was hospitalized for 3 months by my family and I managed to get drugs in. It wasn’t until I really truly wanted to get sober that any of the help I received worked. All you can do is love without enabling. Enabling is making an addicts life easier while they are using. Giving them money, letting them stay with you, paying for a phone, letting them borrow your vehicle. Things like that. Not enabling is being there to listen. Willing to get them help if they want it. Telling them you love them. Reaching out. Spending some time together. If I were in your place I would tell her I love her that she is important to me and that I will be there to

I actually knew about this drug from a course about tranquilizing animals via dartguns I took. For actual tranquilizing it is often mixed with ketamine. Our Professor told us to always be "guarded" by a second person in case we might inject ourself by accident. We might not have enough time to call an ambulance to save ourselfs otherwise. Scary stuff indeed.
Back in the day we used to use xylazine with acepromazine when sedating horses. Never used ketamine, although some folks would use it with ace instead of xylazine.
Rompun(xylazine) is no joke. That stuff will knock half ton animals on their asses.

I’m a nurse practitioner and saw so many deaths and families torn apart. I am fighting heart issues. Hope my open heart surgery has fixed it. My medical service dog and I visit drug rehab centers as well as kids wards for cancer and every and any hospital patients.

seeing other people in recovery in the comments is making me feel much more comfortable in my own journey. i’m one month sober today. i only used for five years, but i started when i was 15 and feel like i lost the last part of my childhood/teens to using. i never really developed any hobbies or built skills because i was so busy getting high every day, multiple times a day. i’ve been focusing so much more on my art, guitar, and gaming and i find more joy in these things than when i tried to do them while high. my journey is early and i still get cravings, it hurts like hell to fight sometimes, but i know it will be worth it. i’m not sick anymore and i find myself wanting to hangout with my family more often and it makes them happy. seeing them happy instead of worried about me is a warm feeling i never want to lose. good luck to everyone else on their recovery journey! we got this 💪🏽
You got this...I'm 35 and also started using oxy cotin at age 15. I didn't get clean until I was 33 (had 5 years clean in my 20s)...I relapsed right as xyloxene started secretly being cut in the fetti...I gave up for a while the xyloxene was so hard to kick (made heroin and fetynl wd seem like a joke) I started having swelled feet and hands for months, all my veins started collapsing....got to the point where I assumed I would eventually od and be free....but then I tried rehab for a 2nd time and now I have 19 months......now I have some permanent health issues from the xyloxene but life's so much better now....took a while for things to really start feeling normal again but it does. Keep doing what's working for you....and what you said about family is so important...I wouldn't be here today if I didn't have a few family members who never gave up no matter how many times I disappointed them. Keep up the good work 👏

I've been on drugs since I was 14 and I'm 36 going on 37 now. I never thought I'd see mid 20s but something insane happened....I had a kid. I've been in a methadone clinic now for almost 12 years and were it's not perfect I'm not on the street or dealing drugs. Being a dad saved my life and now I can't hardly believe the things I put my body though and people these days with this tranq is legit crazy. I really hope the US does right and find a way to help those ready to be done with this crazy shit.

Recently left rehab, out of 200 of us there about 150 were getting fentanyl mixed with tranq and had giant open wounds, rotting from the inside out. Horrible to see, so many people dying it’s horrifying

As a large animal veterinarian for thirty years I used xylazine on my patients daily, often tranquilzing dozens of calves at a time for pain free dehorning. What frightened me was that there was a widespread rumor that xylazine had no effect on humans. I don't know how the rumor was started but I did my best to tell everyone I could that it, in fact, was deadly and that it would be the worst death you could imagine.
I never imagined that someday large numbers of people would purposely inject themselves. What a world!

I was a drug addict for 15 years. The last five of these was opiates and in the end it was only fentanyl. The withdrawals was truly hell. Now i’ve been on suboxone for 8 years and it has truly saved my life.
But I have a Suboxone addict in my bunkhouse.

Suboxone is just a replacement for addiction, one crutch to another. You can still abuse Suboxone. You need to deal with the issues behind why you take them and more than likely you have to hit rock bottom to come to this revelation that getting clean is worth it. I have one brother that is on Suboxone 10 years sober and one brother who died from an od, I also found it amusing when I was partying I was told by both brothers if I ever shot up id get my ass kicked. I never have had an addictive personality and enjoyed the psychedelics more.
I was a pill popper for 10 yrs and the last couple years was to the bootleg Mexican Fentanyl’s. Almost killed me. Found Suboxone online and wife and I kicked the habit ourselves right before we lost everything. I’m still amazed of God/Jesus. Absolutely amazed. You would never tell either of us were strung out and working good jobs.
That map just gave me the chills. I just got clean. I still feel bad months later off the baltimore m.d street caps. Fetty/ tranq is the only thing you can get in the city. You have no idea the hell it has caused. I have passed out driving almost died many times! Fallen down the steps, in the shower, at work.... crazyiness. Addiction is terrible man! Im doing everything i can to stay clean. I know if i relapse i will die. The withdraw was ten times worse than methodone withdraw i had to go through years backs. Death is almost certain! Im so grateful today.
I'm 13 years sober from Alcohol, Heroin, and Benzos and the Benzo withdrawal was by far the worse. I was in the ICU for 2 months with Pancreatitis from drinking and went through alcohol withdrawal at the same time I was in the worse pain I've ever felt (and I've been through some pain in my life) and the Benzo withdrawal was still worse and took me about a year for the panic attacks and massive anxiety to subside.
I was beneath rock bottom and still got out, so for anyone our there trying to get clean, you can do it and life will be beautiful again. Good luck to everyone fighting the good fight to get sober. ✌️
CONGRATULATIONS diedefending420!!! I used fentanyl, oxys and Xanax been off 10 years April 12th 2023 I detoxed off Xanax first. Then opiates,using suboxone. My body couldn't take gradual taper to quit regarding opiates so suboxone was a blessing.
I was given a 30 day taper after 5 yrs of benzos. I had horrific panic attacks for about 90 days.

My doctors didn't like that I was on methadone and Xanax so they cold turkeyed me from the Xanax by refusing to keep giving me the prescription. I'll never agree with what they did to me but in the end I did get off of them.

Docs should know alcohol and benzo detox can kill you. I found later,how extremely fortunate I was to get off on a 30 day taper. My pain Dr and psych. Knew what the other was prescribing. That opiate benzo combo can and does cause you to quit breathing. I used that combo for 5 yrs.

I'm living in Poland and my God, I would be terrified as hell if we would have this drug epidemic. We've had our share of drug addicts in Europe too, and still do in certain areas. Sadly, in Northern England and in some parts of Germany, addiction is increasingly becoming a big problem.
Our opioid crisis is much more hidden with prescribed drugs. In my country, The Netherlands, there are 200,000 people who are addicted to Oxycontin. But because their doctors keep on giving it, there is no need to turn to other, more dangerous street drugs.
Our government is primarily the problem. They’d rather send money to Ukraine than help our people here. But that aside, addiction starts with that person choosing. Don’t chase the high. It’s ultimately their choice, nobody is forcing them. It’s all very sad.

There are a number of videos here on TH-cam about Tranq addiction in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. There are so many videos on this area that you'll think t must be Ground Zero for the drug. Having seen so many of these videos was able to recognize a case here In Charlotte, North Carolina.
There was a young man sitting on the ground outside the supermarket covered with these sores all over his legs and feet. Some of them were over an inch in diameter. One foot was swollen to twice the normal size and fiery red. I called 911 and MEDIC went out and tried to treat him but he refused to go to the ER with them. Another retiree told me that something had happened to him a few days later and this time MEDIC was able to convince him to come to the ER.
Forty-Five years ago this was a rural area 11 miles from center of Charlotte. Since then the roads have been lengthened and widened and hundreds of apartments have been built which surround our small forested area. Surrounding us now is a huge increase in crime with homeless people begging on every corner. They wander the streets of our neighborhood. My next door neighbor's home was burglarized in daylight when she stepped out to the store for an hour or so. My wife and are more cautious now when we work in our yard and are armed. We're in our 70s and wouldn't be able to put up much of a defense if we're attacked. We never thought we'd be living like this during our retirement.
Yeah Kensington is ground zero...I went to rehab in Jersey late 21 and they acted like I was making up crazy shit because they never heard of it...although I was the only one still showing wd symptoms and had an open wound on my wrist n both wrist and hands were so swelled they couldn't put the little I'd bracelet thing on....took about 3 months for the wd to subside (insurance only covered 11 days, detoxed the rest of the way from home)....I am determined to stay on this path because I have life long health issues now....Dr's and treatment centers need to start addressing this issue because a lot of people will just leave treatment in a day because they do nothing for it...there's always people who still will walk out or refuse help but that was a huge thing I noticed in my experience....I hope more videos like this are posted because this is a drug epidemic worst than any we've ever faced here before.

I always wondered why those using Fentynal seem to get horrific wounds. I've see three friends lose limbs. One both feet, one a thumb and one an index finger. Many have swollen oozing wounds in their limbs and it's gross looking. Now it all makes sense.

Tobacco and alcohol was a big tax income for govt, despite knowing for dacades the harmful and addictive nature; and now there is a concerted (knee-jerk) campaign to stop people smoking/drinking, which actually shoots the govt in both feet regarding a large market and profitable mechanism that also employed many people by consequence (who also paid taxes).

I've been around a lot of drugs and have gotten pretty comfortable being around them. Seeing someone with a bag of meth or doing a line of coke doesn't phase me. I grew up with family that smoked crack on the regular. But fentanyl and tranq are absolutely terrifying to me. I don't wanna even be near that crap.
To those who are struggling with drugs and trying to get out of their addictions, I hope you'll be able to recover and eventually come clean. I've never had anyone in my life do drugs, but it still sucks hearing others and their experiences of being addicts/or loved who are addicts. Anyone is who going through this journey of getting off of drugs, I support it.
I don't understand why we should have sympathy for those addicted: nobody force fed them the drugs. It was their decision, and everyone knows that drugs are addictive, that they ruin lives, that they can kill you. Self medication? That's BS. An inability to cope with stress is not the same as needing "medication". Nothing in the world could make me reach for drugs. I would sooner reach for, uh, a final solution, than for drugs.
Those who use know the risks before they begin. Oh, they didn't know, these are adulterated drugs? But what did you expect, from drug dealers? Did you expect quality control, did you expect honesty? Seriously.

I’ll be 3 years sober in a couple days and I gotta say I’m extremely happy I got clean before I found tranq. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be here today with the way I used.
It’s a scary world we live in. The last gf I had passed away from a fentanyl overdose, still almost three years later I still sometimes break down and cry because she didn’t deserve to die so young. It’s so important to never take anything for granted because you never know when you’re gonna see someone for the last time.
I found out my sister was a user when she died and her toxicology report came back OD-tranque, fentanyl and meth. She was 62.

Fentanyl was a Godsend for me. I quit heroin after 25+ years. even seasoned addicts died & the "high" sucks. it's just a blackout.
I’m a nurse but not working with Tranq patients. While an oncology nurse, we applied fentanyl patches to patients with end-of-life cancers. If you touched the patch without gloves - yikes - just a touch caused disabling side affects. Of course, pretty much everything we worked with could have hurt us, but, this was our job to try and help patients recover. For some, cancer is horribly painful, so we have to give them unbelievably strong pain meds. Fentanyl patches are applied to the back in carefully limited pharmaceutical doses. But as someone who accidentally carried one from the patients back across his room to the medical waste bin, I can say that this stuff is amazingly strong and, for those of us who react badly to opioids, a truly horrible experience. I’ve never u derstood why anyone would want to take an opioid because they give me nausea for a few hours then vomiting. Morphine gives me horrendous hallucinations, as I discovered after an operation, so will never have again. But it also gave a number of my patients skin discomfort and itching, which is why we gave antihistamines.
Yeah, my late wife and myself used to call them 'snake dreams'... It's almost like God's health warning or something!
I'm a cancer patient who has used fentanyl patches and they did really make the difference for the time i was on them. Helped a bunch with pain, wasnt enough to 100% numb me of course aha.. but i do remember those days when they'd fall off without me knowing and the horrible withdrawal I'd go thru not knowing what happened
Made me mad as hell when i was getting help appling them (my parents care for me) that my mom eventually stopped using gloves cause i was like youre gonna get that stuff in you dude
Anyhow nothing came out of it, can say i miss using it cause i have chronic pain aha but hey, I'm glad to be off the patches as it was kinda intense! My doctor once noticed me and was '... oh youre high, we gotta lower your dose'
Really makes you think about what bad shape people are in to get addicted! We hate that high feeling but for them it’s an escape… those poor souls. May they one day get the help they need to work through their demons. Easier said than done though.

I mean hell, the comment right after you is talking about how good it was and then having withdrawals. Not everyone is the same, but the fact is that it’s one of the most potent opioids there are and has a crazy low threshold to kill people

lost my cousin to a Fentanyl laced Heroin overdose in 2019 after she had already been using for 4+ years, overdosed + rehab multiple times the whole nine. it’s scares me to think about if she had found this.
I injected heroine everyday for 7 years from 1994 untill 2001 and it was extremely painful and very hard to get through the withdrawal I genuinely feel sorry for addicts these days, i can't even imagine how difficult it is with fentanol or tranc.
For those outside the US, street drug use and self-deletion have skyrocketed since the U.S. gov’t effectively forced primary physicians to cut patients off from their pain meds. Doctors went to the federal pen for what the feds determined was “overprescribing.”
The docs are audited if their prescribing of schedule 4 drugs reaches some mark, and if you *are* prescribed an controlled substance of any variety, you better believe: you’re in a database now.

Might have been better to have scrutinized Perdue Pharmaceuticals a little closer 15 or 20 years ago when it might have forestalled a lot of this sh1+! Still, about what you'd expect from a country that barges into other countries where they're not wanted, establishes an enormous civil service, police force etc, etc, staffed by locals, then decides the hippies were right all along and bale out, throwing all those loyal employees to the Commies/Taleban/etc...

It was a wise move to limit PCPs from doling out opiates. That’s where the majority of people originally got addicted to opiates. They were essentially turning their PCP into their drug dealer. I knew a guy back in the late 90s who made his living from having numerous PCPs writing him scripts for Percocet. He was selling them to kids, housewives, and anyone who wanted them .
Patients who have medical problems that can only be treated with opiates can be treated at pain clinics run by neurologists who give a strict accounting for their prescriptions. As a patient they also have to give an account of their personal lives by not having drugs that are not prescribed to them in their system. It’s become a necessity to separate the addicts from the ones who genuinely need the medication. I haven’t met one person with medical issues that require pain medication be turned away and resort to buying illegal drugs but I have met many who were clearly addicts who didn’t want to be accountable to a pain management doctor resort to other methods of getting opiates.

I don't see how legitimizing corporate pill mills would help the situation. People would get addicted to the official stuff, be unable or unwilling to keep paying, and start looking for cheaper street drugs to get their fix.
There's probably no real way to kill the demand for street alternatives in a way that matters. Unless the solution is to just hand out as much opiates to anyone who wants them for free, which will absolutely never happen for a number of reasons.

Holy fuck. An experienced user calling heroin comedowns/withdrawals "mildly uncomfortable" in comparison is more than a little bit terrifying.
I recently heard of this drug, a doctor was talking about it. I guess I am blessed that opioids have an adverse effect on me, so I am in no danger of knowingly ever taking this. The reason that people are self medicating needs to be looked at. I can’t imagine how hard quitting these powerful drugs is. My addictions are caffeine and nicotine, and trying to quit smoking is hard enough, but this pales in comparison to the withdrawal from these livestock tranquilizers.
As far as nicotine withdrawal , treat it like starting - you didn't start all at once , try Not Quitting all at once , , ,

It's worth pointing out that relapse after detoxing is one of the most dangerous times for OD... people detox in treatment, or jail/prison... then their tolerance drops and when they take dose that would not have been a problem before they OD.
Exactly… the only couple times I ODed was from a relapse after being 9 months clean and I thought I’d be safe snorting half bag of fent when before I was doing a bundle easy a day without even getting high off it. I’ve been extremely lucky in those situations but it’s really an eye opener how this shit is killing everyone. && I agree the biggest risk is that relapse after getting that clean time in. That’s the only reason I’ll push for suboxone treatment now when before I couldn’t see me trading one drug for another but honestly that’s probably the safest thing to do for the first couple or so years until you feel safe enough without it
@@CNChris_CN Congratulations on your ongoing recovery! Yeah, Suboxone is a great tool to help add some safety, and give people time to build up healthy coping skills and resiliency. I understand the concern about trading one for another, but it's also very different using a medication as prescribed, in a therapeutic way, and using the same drug in an abusive way. Plus, it's totally possible to really slowly taper off of Suboxone. Congratulations again!
@@danc6882 aww thanks for the congrats… I’ve only been going like 2 1/2 years so far but I did have those couple relapses in between that time. Thankfully I was on subs for almost a year and I never got any withdrawal from it which is crazy cause they had me on 8mg 3x daily. That was way too much so even tho they prescribed it that way I cut down to twice a day pretty quickly and then did once a day for many months towards the end. And I’ve been on methadone too but that shit was just as bad as dope. I remember being on it for like 5 months and they wouldn’t supply me with a weeks worth of meds when I went on vacation to Florida and when I got down there the clinic there couldn’t even get me anything until the last day when I was flying back. It was about instant withdrawal and I even spaced 1 bottle for like 3 days and I was still sick so of course I ended up getting back on dope while I was down there. I can’t tell u how many times I’ve detoxed, cold turkey, suboxone, methadone, kratom, inpatient, outpatient. I’ve done pretty much anything u can think of for years but now I’m in a good mental state and my depression cause that’s really what was my issue and u can’t get clean until u take care of those problems
I happened to go to google maps, in New Jersey, people were bent over, on google maps! I asked my son if this was some sort of protest, nope he said, those are drugs.
What’s interesting, is looking at it from the dealers point of view, is that while these dealers do not care about the loss of human life, they should care about literally killing off their customers, and either all their customers will die, or they will be too scared to try it or will find help to quit. Would be interesting to see you make a video on one of your channels, possibly from the dealers POV?
