Because we have so many horrible and oppressive laws, that everyone is now paranoid.

@Martin Sanders I think we're already seeing the opposite side and audit benefits of this. More and more audits, more and more times the Police refuse to come out to business, more we see colleagues telling their other colleagues to leave auditors alone, more security guards and receiving training on the subject.
I concur. It’s truly hilarious watching three grown men in full toddler mode filling their nappies over being video recorded - after literally walking up to a man on a public pavement, and attempting to obtain his personal details, and limit his rights to do a perfectly lawful activity.
The obvious limitations of their own rights in this situation and how lamentably wrong they in their assumptions, are perfectly matched by the limits of their understanding of the law and the photographer’s rights.
They are as comical as they are sad, and their irrational fears and ludicrous imagined threats are the product of something deeply disturbing. And the mental gymnastics being performed by that lower middle management type could provide sufficient material for an entire doctorate thesis.
What we need to understand is that they auction cars…!🐑🐑🐑🙄👀🧐😎😜🙈

Also great interaction from the WPC as well, looks like they are starting to realise that good interactions show they are not all bullies wanting to infringe on people's rights.

If you rang them and asked if they do GDPR tests, and then said you will audit them, then afterwards show them the results. £300 a class. They might send you to every site.

It becomes a little boring if every time something is brought up you have to Chae down every little "now you've made a record that is subject to gdpr..." unnecessary change to the time of the conversation (just in my opinion and for this audit). Letting them run themselves about on the hook was entertaining enough. The one chap saw these videos and yet couldn't help himself.
Spouts about his customer`s privacy then asks you to come closer to his CCTV so its facial recognition can scan your biometric information without your consent.

Everyone is an expert on camera and privacy laws 🫤 like the people targeted on Rogue Traders and Police shows give permission to be humiliated on TV.
Next time someone starts going on about number plates, ask them what information can be found out from a number plate. Their response will be very telling.

Yes. That speccy guy from Aston Barclay is quite correct in saying he made the company liable by taking an action (engaging with you).
It's a bit like when you become liable for the postmam (or woman) breaks his (or her) leg after you clear snow from your path.
