    video less than 10 mins long, but pretty much enough to get one going... you rule Os. Thank you 🙂

    Hi, thanks for this great feature. It took a while to figure out, that on first startup all patterns had a length of 0

    I am searching in the manual and I can’t find which midi mappings are necessary for using this. Which midi channels are used for each part of the note sequencer and drum sequencers?

      You set that up in the configuration.

    Are there advantages to one Launchpad version over another for use with FH-2?

    • @ExpertSleepersLtd
      @ExpertSleepersLtd  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's no functionality difference. Mostly it comes down to size, and feel of the pads. Some are soft rubbery pads, others have harder ones. My personal preference is the mini mk3.

    Very cool, and impressed to see a well thought out interface/usage of the Launchpad's matrix. Am I correct that 100% of the code to make this happen is on the FH-2, with the Launchpad being a 'dumb' peripheral?

  • @DumblyDorr
    @DumblyDorr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What an awesome feature. Just tested the note-sequencer and am loving it. Thank you, ES, for updating your products like this :)
    Now the cherry on top would be to switch mode/page on the Launchpad (Pro in my case) from sequencer-control to the generic note-grid, where I can solo on the same or a different channel than the note-sequencer ... is this possible at all?

    • @ExpertSleepersLtd
      @ExpertSleepersLtd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the Pro do you not have a 'setup' button, that allows you to switch layout? The sequencer uses the Programmer layout.

    • @DumblyDorr
      @DumblyDorr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ExpertSleepersLtd Unfortunately, when I switch to note-mode and am on the same MIDI-channel, the vertical line from the sequencer still passes over the grid when it goes through the first 8 steps, and pushing pads sets those notes for the sequencer, but does not play them momentarily. It might be too much to hope - but perhaps a future FW-update might change this so the note-mode can be used independently. (Takeover is active and MIDI-Echo is inactive, FW is 1.15.3)

    is there a way to have the launchpad running a drum sequencer controlling some gate outputs while at the same time have a keyboard controller connected to the other usb port ( or a usb hub ) controlling a cv/gate pair?

    In the manual it says drum sequences are loaded instantly. Is loading truly instant or does it happen at the beginning of the next bar?

    • @ExpertSleepersLtd
      @ExpertSleepersLtd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's instant. Delayed loading could be implemented though - I'll put it on the wish-list.

      @@ExpertSleepersLtd Excellent! Digitakt-style loading after the current section is done would make a real jump in usability for me. Thanks for considering it.

    does this work with the Launchpad S?

    • @ExpertSleepersLtd
      @ExpertSleepersLtd  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The manual says "At this time, the sequencers are designed to be used in conjunction with one of Novation's current generation Launchpad devices (a Launchpad Mini Mk3, a Launchpad X, or a Launchpad Pro Mk3) or the original Launchpad Pro."

    I'd love to use my Launchpad Mini mk3 with my FH-2 exactly like it is shown is this video. I´m unable to activate by pressing both buttons on the top row. This results in either going in the normal Keys or User mode. Pressing a bit longer does nothing. Do I need to install some custom firmware on my Launchpad or is there some configuration that I'd have to do on my FH-2? Connecting the Launchpad will result in it booting and behaving exactly like on my Laptop or iPad.
    Edit: Firmware 1.17 on my FH-2.

    Note that, I think (I just bought it, so I will confirm soon), FH-2 (as well as Disting EX) doesn't fit intellijel and other eurorack cases because of depth. The only case I have and they fit, is on the right end of the Make Noise skiff.

    • @TheDavidPoole
      @TheDavidPoole 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They fit nice and snugly in the Cre8 Audio nifty case. I have mine on the right hand side at the end. I unclipped the flying power cable at that end and pushed it up the top so there was nothing underneath the modules and it's a perfect fit. Nice thing is that its a very cost effective, powered case with inbuilt MIDI to 2 x CV and gate that can be duophonic or on 2 different MIDI channels and there are 2 1\8 inch audio outs summed to a 1\4 inch jack on the back.
      Also, the Behringer 19" eurorack racks are perfect for this as they are just frames but can be either rack mounted or sit on their own on the desktop at a nice jaunty angle. They do have 5v and so can power any USB devices plugged into the FH-2.
      You don't have to spend a fortune to get these racked up.

      Both FH-2 and Disting ex mk4 fit in my intellijel performance 7u case. I even connected the midi in/out pins from the proprietary headers on the case (probing with a multimeter in continuity mode) to Disting and they work perfectly.
      They likely would not fit if the power supply is in the way, but the entire top row is entirely clear of any collisions.

    • @lookfwd
      @lookfwd 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can see that it can fit in performance, great to know that there are options. It certainly didn't fit in Intellijel 4U Palette 104 HP even given its external power supply.

    I don't really understand the integration here how is this any different from using any other midi controller?

    • @ExpertSleepersLtd
      @ExpertSleepersLtd  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's different because the FH-2 is driving the LEDs on the Launchpad to make a UI for the sequencers.
