Republicans can _in theory_ purge their ranks and rebuild the internal infrastructure as necessary to undo Trump's usurpation of their systems but that would require them to be willing and able to embrace rapid institutional change. The issue? Mainstream republicans are *conservatives.* _Conservatives don't do rapid institutional change._ There's a reason why it was populist *Trump* who was able to remold the GOP in his image in just eight short years and not any conservative.
I'm afraid any attempt by mainstream Republicans to retake their party will be swiftly blocked and undone by MAGA. Mainstream Republicans have ceded far too much power and MAGA is so much better inclined and suited to effecting rapid institutional change than them. We've seen this already in Republican primaries. MAGA will sooner burn the GOP to the ground than give old-school Republicans the time and space they need to return their party back to what it once was.

Trump supporters don’t distinguish between his reality TV persona (“The Apprentice”) and who Trump really is. They’re like people who write angry letters to soap opera villains. For that group, Trump can be replaced only by another reality TV star. The GOP is going to fragment without Trump.

You are so correct. They think he is a successful businessman and that will somehow help Americans. They only repeat what he says and they do not fact check anything. Both sides have taken statements out of context but more so on the Republican side. I mean the guy says he is in love with Kim Jun and that Putin is a great leader. He never once condemned Russia for invading Ukraine but he focuses on the border which he tied the dems hands by not passing bills that would have helped correct the problem. But is it really that bad of a problem. Immigrants are the backbone and they help maintain a population growth problem while other countries like China and Russia are freaking out because they are loosing their younger population.
I voted for him in 2016 because I wanted change but man did I get change and not what I wanted.
Please vote and vote blue and really try to take our country forward let’s let Trump just go away and allow us to get our Republican Party back.

The United States' reluctance to provide advanced weaponry to Ukraine for use deep inside Russian territory can be attributed to several critical factors that are often overlooked by the general public.Firstly, there is a significant presence of Russia sympathisers within the MAGA/GOP faction of the opposition party, which some may perceive as a domestic threat acting on behalf of Russia. These individuals have the potential to undermine U.S. foreign policy decisions related to Ukraine and Russia, having demonstrated this many times in the past. Since 2003, the United States and other countries have experienced infiltration by what many consider to be Russian moles who have secured positions within government. This long-standing issue has hindered the nation's ability to make clear-cut decisions regarding military support for Ukraine against Russian aggression. The U.S. can begin to address this issue only after the November elections, which would require the Democratic Party to win majorities in all branches of government. This scenario would enable the initiation of the largest internal government investigation in American history, aimed at identifying and removing any Russian agents within the U.S. government over the past two decades. Approval for Ukraine to utilise advanced weaponry without restrictions is likely to occur after the January transition to a new government, which would hopefully control all branches without interference from MAGA supporters. The critical period will be between the U.S. election results in November and the January inauguration of those elected to a four-year term. There are indications that Russia may plan to amplify another destructive event following the last election, potentially on a level higher than the January 6th incident. This disruption is likely to begin after the November election results and continue for an extended period. It is speculated that high-level intelligence, defense, security, and legal agencies may have advised a judge to postpone the sentencing of the former president, an instigator of the January 6th attacks who has ties to Russian support networks in the United States. By sentencing him just after the November election results and starting his sentence before the January transition, it could help prevent him from inciting further unrest based on false statements and claims. In summary, several key factors contribute to the United States' current hesitation in allowing Ukraine to use advanced weaponry for targeting deep inside Russian territory. The situation remains complex due to the presence of Russia sympathisers within the U.S. government, long-standing infiltration by Russian agents, and the potential for further domestic unrest fuelled by the former president's actions and influence. Only after the January 2024 U.S. government transition, assuming a Democratic majority in all three branches, would the United States be positioned to authorise unlimited targeting inside Russia. Currently, it is highly likely that the U.S. has quietly notified many UN members to refrain from increasing such allowances, as well as from responding to Russian antagonistic gestures against NATO members. If NATO were forced to respond before the January political transition, its members might find the U.S. constrained by the influence of Russian sympathisers within the GOP, potentially impeding the U.S. from fulfilling its NATO obligations.
Should the election put Trump in the White House again, it is highly likely that Ukraine will be abandoned by the USA, along with the USA's exit from NATO. If this becomes a reality, the USA, DARPA, and its advancements in defense technologies would likely decline rapidly. Meanwhile, the EU, particularly France, will recognise the significant advancements in science and technology in the defense sector, leaving the USA to develop with declining access to intellectual assets related to these technologies. Additionally, there will be a realisation that they missed something that makes the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) system and all current advancements in the Air Force and Navy look like child's play. This, combined with ongoing design flaws-which will be recognised by 2050-will continue to hamper innovation for DARPA and others in the industry within the USA.
This same situation occurred in Russia after 2004, when the excessive control of Putin caused many of their best engineers and developers to leave the country, slowing their advancements. A similar scenario is expected to happen in the USA if a radical is put in the White House. This would exacerbate DARPA's already struggling efforts to obtain new capabilities to make significant technological advances, further widening the U.S. defense tech gap between China and other potential threats.
Oddly, I am aware of a source with some intriguing technology that has been in development for over 12 years and could leapfrog all branches of the DoD by 70 years compared to the rest of the world. However, they are currently sitting on the sidelines, waiting for directives on where the US government will head after January 6, 2025. That technology will likely be destroyed or rerouted to France and other EU countries for development instead of the USA, should it once again have a radical, unhinged person in the White House who supports dictatorships, or if the USA experiences social decline post-2024 election due to the chaotic aftermath of the Snake Oil Salesman scorched-earth policies upon the USA.

Suspending the constitution, deploying the military against American citizens, executing your political opponents, appointing generals personally loyal to you and not the Constitution, offering public policy to the highest bidding oligarch, undermining faith in democracy, promising to shut down unfriendly media, and oh yeah, trying to overthrow the American government as President, which part of this is supposed to be love of America again?
It's clear that while y'all fetishize the founders and the Constitution you've never actually read them. They weren't Christian Nationalists. Washington basically never publicly mentioned Christ and stopped publicly taking communion. Jefferson made a Bible where he took out what he called the superstitious miracles.
Adams wrote to Jefferson "The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity".
      And anon:
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution."- Madison
"All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian, or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."- Paine
"Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." -Franklin
"But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." -Jefferson
Aaand the most apropo one in this case:
"The Christian god is a three-headed monster; cruel, vengeful, and capricious. One only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites." -Jefferson
Tell me again how electing an authoritarian Christian Nationalist fascist is what these guys would want and the "true America" lol.
You'd be better off looking in Rousseau, Locke, Voltaire and other Deists than the Bible for the roots of American government.
But you don't actually care about what they thought or said, they are totems for an Ethnonationalist view of America. One where White Christians dominate and force their views on the nation. That is fascism, not a Republic. And I'll leave you with this
"I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."
