He poured all of his considerable skill and strength into this 250 year old hymn and it shows. This Brazilian metal singer studied voice for at least 10 years to be able to do this. Dan Vasc is very addicting Samantha. And a lot of us are addicts. Luckily he has been putting songs on his you tube channel for something like 10 years so there's more than 200 videos covering a wide variety of musical styles to help. Dan is amazing! I am a PK (Preacher's Kid) and was in church in utero. My family is also very musical. I play several instruments and sing. I've heard this performed in hundreds (if not thousands) of ways throughout my lifetime. My beloved Granny played the harmonica beautiful and as a teenager at family gatherings, we'd gatger around the piano (which I played) and would sing as she played harmonica and I played piano and this gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it! I try to listen to it once a day if not more! It is, IMHO, the hands-down best version ever performed. I feel like all of Heaven stopped to listen! Dan is amazing! I am a PK (Preacher's Kid) and was in church in utero. My family is also very musical. I play several instruments and sing. I've heard this performed in hundreds (if not thousands) of ways throughout my lifetime. My beloved Granny played the harmonica beautiful and as a teenager at family gatherings, we'd gatger around the piano (which I played) and would sing as she played harmonica and I played piano and this gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it! I try to listen to it once a day if not more! It is, IMHO, the hands-down best version ever performed. I feel like all of Heaven stopped to listen!
