This one's a SUPER simple "getting started" sort of guide - in a week or two once I've got a better handle on builds and the meta I'll be dropping some more detailed builds and gameplan videos to help players master the game at a more competitive level. Always open to any feedback and your questions/comments will help me drive future video topics so let me know the biggest things you want to learn or are interested in seeing in the next vods
Thx for the Vid pig, I am going to try and pop out my first cast of Stormgate this weekend so I am brushing up on the game. This was super helpful for me.
I would love to see post-patch builds taking into account current reward for creeping, cos at this point you really need to get this one lancer ASAP regardless of what you want to play later on.
I’m a noob but… Vanguard vs Celestials Lancer is heavy with bonus vs structures Exo is light with bonus vs heavy Argent is heavy with bonus vs heavy plus increased damage when having energy (24dmg vs heavy on full energy) Kri is light with bonus vs light In theory lancers and exos is really bad composition vs argents with kri You need to pop few Vulcans for that
Hi I watch a lot of your videos on the channel. Very good work, by the way I have a question where can I find the latest replays (of mine or best players) for the game could you send a link or some package
I was wondering if mass upgraded dogs may be good against the mass Cree(idk how to spell them)? Because they are light and the dogs will be at like 8 + 15 dmg against light
I think the Kri are just overtuned at the moment so it probably won't help that much. The main problems are that the Kri do splash damage on their first hit out of the roll AND after death. And with dogs being so fragile I think that'd scale really well in big fights for the celestial player. I imagine Kri will get nerfed pretty hard within a week or so, at the moment my Vanguard vs Celestial strat is try to wall off 2-3 bases with multiple sentry posts and then slowly head to vulcan medtech. If you can get a ball of 10 vulcans I think they'll scale really well vs Kri... though I haven't made it that far yet lol!
Genuinely struggling as Van vs Celestial. Doesn't seem balanced at all yet, which is to be expected, though it is also pretty early to tell. I typically aim for 2 base 7 rax all in, been my staple, works great vs Infernals and Van, tho Celestial can take a third and still match me on units by the 7 min push time. Not really sure how or why but Ive also not spent the time yet to learn them by playing them.
Can you make a guide on the other classes? as a Starcraft 2 and Warcraft III player and many other RTS games, I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THEM ON THE BEST WAY. @PiGCastsTwo
if you're still responding, what elo is this? I havent started playing 1v1's yet since Im not super experienced with RTS's, and afraid all the people who purchased early access are die hard fans lol. I wanted to see if games like these are what I should expect when first playing.
It's SUPER random in your early matches with Early access meaning you definitely have a lot of hardcore players but there's also tonnes of newbies. Just remember its an MMR ranking system so losing 5 matches learning a build is actually great since you'll just start playing much easier opponents that are suited to your level. These matches I was about 1600 MMR. Whether you play now or on day 1 of completely free to play either will be great entry points I reckon
So far every game I’ve played just ends in the first 10-15m from basic units haha, feels kinda boring and repetitive but maybe RTS is just not my thing anymore
Every new RTS that has depth to it will always take some learning how things work before you start getting more dynamic games. Stick it out and you'll 100% get there. Co-op is also a great way to get a bit more comfortable with the game mechanics before getting into a competitive environment
The first 40 games i played i lost every time to tier 1 units. And was frustrated and bit bored. Then as i got gud, all of a sudden tier 2 units started coming into play and holy mackerel everything clicked and it's so much fun.
100% - that's the basics of RTS. Getting a quick investment into economy, turning it into army and then using that army to try and win the game! Once you get used to the basics you can add earlier creeping to get more money and bonuses, and you can have other transitions into higher tier units, and more bases to widen your strategic options

thank you kind sir
Your casting is extremely eloquent, clear and each word is precise and has a purpose. I learned a lot in the first 3 minutes. Thanks!
You had me subscribed when you called him a try hard because I was just screaming at my computer screen earlier at a protoss and his early probe 😅
I love that you keep it simple for beginners like me who can't multitask yet
Cool, good stuff for the community!
Great video pig! Would love a similar one for infernals and celestials. Very straightforward to emulate.
After watching this I finally won my first Stormgate game, thanks Pig!

Great guide! Effective but simple and looks like a ton of fun to play
Great game, great tips. Thanks Pig!
Hi Pig, you rock homie. Love your teaching style
played 10 games, lost them all. Followed this strat haven't lost yet
eyy glad it's helping you out mate!
I’m a noob but…

I can confirm this do be working iv won my last 6 games with this build so far
good guide thank you
thank you for this video. just downloaded fresh out of sc2.
Thank you!
really like the build. But I have jet to play a game which is not 1base dog vs 1base dog with the current path :D

On the 4 player spawn map, the opponent can never spawn horizontally so you only need to check 2 bases
ive only beaten infernal twice as vanguard. they are so hard
Do u go 3 base after a while?
cool!
just i wish i could control this like star craft its so hard to adjust lol
how did you build the sentry like that? mine doesn't come out like that
the sentry post changes its function based on what you put inside it

It's imba right now - patch desperately needed because Kri are super overtuned. Don't worry I lose most of my games to them as well.
@@PiGCastsTwo good to know. Thanks for the vid !
I wonder why this game is reverting back to the early days of SC2 when we had to spend a few minutes just making workers 🤔
Yeah but they rush me with so many units just when my baracks are done. 😂😂😂
Can you make a guide on the other classes? as a Starcraft 2 and Warcraft III player and many other RTS games, I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THEM ON THE BEST WAY. @PiGCastsTwo
on the way in the next few days!
Do you press 1 on the keyboard with your pinky or ring finger?
personally I use my middle finger

you play Stormgate by uninstalling and never looking back 😂

this bo is free lose of cheese not fan rn works only if enemy start maccro & no harass too
which cheese killed you?
Pls do celestials
on the way within 2, 3 days max
is Vanguard IMBA??
Nooope lol, not right now anyway
Hedgehogs and atlas drops are still very oppressive. It's just that teching up to tier 2 is slower meaning you can't spam promote as quickly.
wonder if simply there more crap wins with less crap

SG bronze to GM when?
It's a points based promo system atm rather than MMR so I gotta put some more games in so I'm actually GM at this game first :P
this is actually wrong? dont teach complicated building mechanics when there is grid with easy hotkeys?
I literally at 1:52 you don't need to do it my way and can just use the build menu if you find that easier.
