    Love the comment about "putting a smile on your face", before taking years to obtain a license for two wheels at 40 years old, the good friend who got me on to riding in the first place, said the same thing: horsepower, features, statistics are to a degree relevant however most important is if you feel comfortable on the bike and you enjoy it, if it puts a smile on your face. It doesn't matter what other say about your bike choice, you are the one that rides it.
    Great channel, cool parts. Haven't bought an Enfield 650 yet but hopefully soon.
    Current bikes are Husqvarna Nuda 900 R and Honda Monkey 125. Both bringing equal smiles :-)

      Absolutely agree … Its a sad fact that a majority of bikers are riding a machine their ego thinks
      they should ride rather than the one that would actually enjoy the most .. it took me many years
      and many bikes to realise that .
      I ride a Triumph Street Scrambler now , modest in every way but fantastic fun .

    Nicely done guys. I’ll be popping mine on shortly! Been finding plenty of chain lube everywhere since ditching the plastic one so nice to see this sits back further for added protection. 👍

    A 1/4 Universal or a 1/4 flex extension will make it possible to tighten the 10mm nut w/o removing the wheel.

    Looking forward to buying the booster plug since I already got the DNA kit and the stainless steel exhausts from your shop. Also interested in the rear light and indicator kit. Are both E-marked? Great video as usual. Keep them good tec bike parts for the Royal Enfield 650's coming.

    Interested in plug to check / remove fault codes on ecu and how to bleed brakes through modulator if air in system. Simple things you would have to take to a dealer for.

    I am just finishing the TEC chain guard installation. Here’s what everyone needs to know: It is almost impossible to install this chain guard with out removing the silencer. Also, determine ahead of time the exact size of the Nyloc nut for the stud that goes into the swing arm. I would say what it is here but I’ve not determined what size socket fits. So far the following sizes don’t seem to fit: 8, 9, 10 and 11 mm. Have not tried any SAE sockets yet. My mistake was assuming one of my 1/4 inch drive metric sockets would fit. I about to remove the rear wheel so I can get in there with an adjustable spanner. Argh! If I finally get a socket to fit I will advise here accordingly. Also the little plastic plug that’s supposed to fit in the one empty screw hole is too small. I will fill that hole with a nice stainless screw. The chain guard is otherwise a very nice upgrade to the look of my RE 650.

  • @OlllOHD
    @OlllOHD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent! Waiting for short exhausts & that Scrambler rack big enough to mount a small top box at least . Edit: rear set bar risers

  • @richardcasey7521
    @richardcasey7521 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Update: The stainless Nyloc nut that goes onto the stud in the swing are is a10mm nut. The reason my 10mm socket appeared to not fit was because there was so little space between the socket and the chain guard the socket was prohibited from sliding on normally. At present the socket is securely on the nut but none of my extensions will fit in such a tight space. I’ll probably remove the rear wheel and tighten the nut with an open end wrench. There is simply not enough room to get tools where they need to be because the wheel is blocking access. Knowing what I know now I would have removed the silencer AND the rear wheel and this would have been a very easy installation.

    • @ferrumignis

      Heidenau K60

    • @isaac.oliveira
      @isaac.oliveira 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ferrumignis i didn't find these dimensions in Heidenau catalog, 100/90-18 to front wheel and 130/70-18 for rear wheel. Unless you fit non-standard tires, in some countries isn't legal. Although, i would like to see the bike with these tires and it looks cooler.

    • @ferrumignis
      @ferrumignis 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@isaac.oliveira If you check out the 650 Project Part 4 video he mentions the tyres briefly. He says the same size is fitted front and back but mentions the 140 section he fitted was maybe a bit too wide as swingarm clearance was very small.

    I'd like a big ugly chain guard that completely covers the entire chain like some of the small Japanese bikes of the 60's. Better yet like the 80's Yamaha Virago's that allowed you to run the chain in a bath of lithium grease.
