This comment encapsulates way I think she left the royal family. Did she go through a lot? I'm sure she did, but so did Diana, Fergie, and Margaret. Meghan isn't special in that regard, but people can only take so much and at first I felt like she probably reached her limit. And I couldn't be mad at that, people need peace in their lives. After the Oprah interview I realized it wasn't that she reached her limit, she left because she couldn't control the narrative. This realization was cemented by the fact that these 2 don't seem to be after the privacy they claimed to want.

What I noticed most about her latest podcast was that she couldn’t stereotype Asian women more if she tried. She related Asian women to noodles and Korean spas. If that isn’t stereotypical i don’t what is.

As a British citizen, your opinions are exactly how the majority of us feel. If you listen to her lies, and misinformation she claims "to my knowledge" or "in my opinion". She never declares her utter rubbish as facts, so she can weasel her way out of it when she is picked up on it. I hope their endeavours really show both of them for the type of person they are, as when the money runs out, and no publications or networks want to work with them. They'll try to come back grovelling to William, as now he is the Price of Wales, he is the one in charge of the purse strings being the person responsible for the Duchy of Cornwall. I’m doubtful that Spotify will air the entire series of episodes. Meghan doesn’t have the ability to “connect “ with her guests or her audience. She’s so focused on what she wants to say that she dismisses or talks over her guests comments.

I think the biggest reason it is a flop is because Harry’s first wife is telling us all about her. She named a program archetypes when she is attempting to discuss stereotypes. I think Markle is very uncomfortable with being of mixed race. She had tried very hard to be "white" for most of her life, and was probably shocked when her mixed race lineage was one of the main things noticed and talked about when she started dating Harry. It was actually commented in a very positive light, but I get the feeling that she was not best pleased. She was more or less forced to accept her mixed race after her marriage and hence her obsession.

They thought that she was Italian and she never corrected them. Then there's the fact that she never dated African American men, only white men, even marrying one before she married Harry. Then there's the fact that nobody has clapped eyes on any of her black relatives, as if she's hiding them. It seems Megan does not know what archetypes are. Carl Gustav Jung brought them to our awareness, but they are known in many cultures. She has the resources to inform herself. So, if she wants to analyze archetypes and talk about them, she needs to know them first and then find how they are culturally defined and how they could've been remodified to suit current cultural values. There is nothing like that, unfortunately, so there is nothing women could've learned from her except her aggrandizement.

When this podcast was coming out, I was completely turned off by the fact that all of her interviews would be with celebrities. I feel as though a large majority of people at this point in time, including myself, do not care about celebrity struggles. It would have been amazing to find actual people with real struggles and have them on. I think we are kind of over celebrities. And let’s call out the obvious. This podcast has and had, absolutely nothing to do with anyone or anything other then giving her a microphone to give her side of the story. All of it is an excuse to try to vindicate herself. Of course we know that will not happen, but this is what her narcissism is telling her.
I think its a way for her to build up a bigger celebrity 'clique'.... none of the celebrities she invited to her wedding knew her beforehand (but went because it's good for their image to go to a Royal Wedding too..) and now she can invite more celebrities onto her podcast and include them as her 'friends' to boost her 'image'.

Been to that spa several times - in the late 90s - and never ever saw a teenage girl. Girls are for the most part insecure about their bodies due to media posting perfect bodies. So why would Doria do that to her? Also to be honest it kind of grossed me out when all of these naked women would get into these bodies of water. Didn't seem hygienic enough for me.

I thought it was childish of MM to rail against RF protocols because they only applied when she was on public duty - which wasn't very often: These types of restrictions and protocols aren't limited to the British RF - I've no doubt that the White House has its own, as indeed does any governmental or Presidential institution around the world. Or at the other end of the scale, even companies have their own rules. She just rails against anyone or anything that doesn't put her centre stage and/or allow her to control events.
There have been many 'commoners' who have married into the royal family and successfully followed protocols. Harry's wife was determined not to do that. She sees herself as some kind or rebel (as she imagined Diana to be), so she deliberately flouted some of the Queen's wishes. She thought being married to a prince meant you just go round bossing people about, which is why so many turned against her here in the UK. We like our royals to act like royals. Hollywood 'royals' are just crass imitators who think their wealth elevates them to a position so far above us mere mortals that they don't even want to talk to us.
@@BoingBB I don’t know who you are referring to as “Hollywood royals.” There is nothing “royal” in the U.S., though an occasional tv personality may refer to 1 or 2 specific people as being “TV royalty” but that’s left to one’s own interpretation. Meghan Markle is certainly not “Hollywood royal.” Being the daughter of a light worker for a tv show means nothing. She was a very small time actress that few people knew existed before she and Harry were engaged. The cable tv series she was in was filmed in Toronto, Canada, nowhere near Hollywood. Megs and her behavior don’t speak for or represent Hollywood or anyone in the U.S., she speaks and represents ONLY herself.

Hey Brittany. Love your take on all things Royal but especially The Wife. I am 65, I am a bus driver/heavy vehicle instructor and before a sad sea change in my life I was a building Surveyor. I am the youngest of 5 boys and have always lived in what Meghan would call "a mans world". I have never had any problems in my career nor in life in general due to being a woman. Now at 65 I am also one of the few female heavy vehicle instructors and one of the oldest. My Mum also was head of an apprenticeship program for one of the then largest technology companies in Australia and never had a problem. I think Meghan thinks we are in the 19th Century not the 21st. The biggest issue is that she has absolutely no preparation to discuss social issues... she thinks she can discuss based on lame anecdotes only (even the shooting to the parlor, she made it about herself), she doesn’t even do a little research on the topic before recording. There is people out there making serious research on social studies, and anybody who is in the slightest interested on racial or gender issues, has far better sources of information and analysis to understand what is going on and what we can do. There is really no reason to hear her podcast.

Sometimes rules are just commonsense. You wear a hat so your hair is tidy. You wear stockings because it’ll prevent blisters and sweaty feet. It is a sign of respect to wear certain colours at certain events. When invited to another country, different cultures, it is a sign of respect to follow their rules. Meghan didn’t follow any rules because she wanted to be the victim.

She has no skills nor expertise to discuss what she is. She's a failure for all the reasons discussed and Spotify surely won't end up airing all episodes.
The royals don't wear black as it is difficult to see them if they wear black when they are greeting people, it's more a kind gesture to the public so that they can be easily spotted.

She didn't even learn that October in the U.K. is Black History Month, and it started in the late 1980's. When she says work, she means the actual editing, putting in the background music, fading in and out of comments, putting the show together, etc. She doesn't mean the actual content that was chosen for the podcast. That would be megains choice I believe. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
It's nice to encounter someone (you) who is honest about their own flaws. They tend to make me much more tolerant than someone who cannot admit that they have any flaws at all!
There is potential growth if someone learns about their flaws and tries to work on it. It also makes the people well rounded and humble to see that they don’t always have the answers therefore are more open to other people, which is an appealing aspect to have in the days of cancel culture for getting one thing wrong.

I think Markle is very uncomfortable with being of mixed race. She had tried very hard to be "white" for most of her life, and was probably shocked when her mixed race lineage was one of the main things noticed and talked about when she started dating Harry. It was actually commented in a very positive light, but I get the feeling that she was not best pleased. She was more or less forced to accept her mixed race after her marriage and hence her obsession.

Then there's the fact that nobody has clapped eyes on any of her black relatives, as if she's hiding them. None of them were invited to her wedding because it seems like her only black family is her mother even though the Ragland family is quite numerous. All those things seem a bit odd to me and that's why I think she's not comfortable in her own skin.

When this podcast was coming out, I was completely turned off by the fact that all of her interviews would be with celebrities. I feel as though a large majority of people at this point in time, including myself, do not care about celebrity struggles. It would have been amazing to find actual people with real struggles and have them on. I think we are kind of over celebrities. And let’s call out the obvious. This podcast has and had, absolutely nothing to do with anyone or anything other then giving her a microphone to give her side of the story. All of it is an excuse to try to vindicate herself. Of course we know that will not happen, but this is what her narcissism is telling her.
I think its a way for her to build up a bigger celebrity 'clique'.... none of the celebrities she invited to her wedding knew her beforehand (but went because it's good for their image to go to a Royal Wedding too..) and now she can invite more celebrities onto her podcast and include them as her 'friends' to boost her 'image'.

Been to that spa several times - in the late 90s - and never ever saw a teenage girl. Girls are for the most part insecure about their bodies due to media posting perfect bodies. So why would Doria do that to her? Also to be honest it kind of grossed me out when all of these naked women would get into these bodies of water. Didn't seem hygienic enough for me.

I thought it was childish of MM to rail against RF protocols because they only applied when she was on public duty - which wasn't very often: These types of restrictions and protocols aren't limited to the British RF - I've no doubt that the White House has its own, as indeed does any governmental or Presidential institution around the world. Or at the other end of the scale, even companies have their own rules. She just rails against anyone or anything that doesn't put her centre stage and/or allow her to control events.
There have been many 'commoners' who have married into the royal family and successfully followed protocols. Harry's wife was determined not to do that. She sees herself as some kind or rebel (as she imagined Diana to be), so she deliberately flouted some of the Queen's wishes. She thought being married to a prince meant you just go round bossing people about, which is why so many turned against her here in the UK. We like our royals to act like royals. Hollywood 'royals' are just crass imitators who think their wealth elevates them to a position so far above us mere mortals that they don't even want to talk to us.
Royal protocol is a bunch of bullshit. she said black is for mourning, yet there are pics of kate on occasions that were not funerals wearing black!
@@BoingBB I don’t know who you are referring to as “Hollywood royals.” There is nothing “royal” in the U.S., though an occasional tv personality may refer to 1 or 2 specific people as being “TV royalty” but that’s left to one’s own interpretation. Meghan Markle is certainly not “Hollywood royal.” Being the daughter of a light worker for a tv show means nothing. She was a very small time actress that few people knew existed before she and Harry were engaged. The cable tv series she was in was filmed in Toronto, Canada, nowhere near Hollywood. Megs and her behavior don’t speak for or represent Hollywood or anyone in the U.S., she speaks and represents ONLY herself.
@@andeeq666 I see references all the time to 'Hollywood royalty'. Usually it's just some film star or TV presenter (like Oprah or Ellen). Not really royals of course but some treat them like royalty. Hey Brittany. Love your take on all things Royal but especially The Wife. I am 65, I am a bus driver/heavy vehicle instructor and before a sad sea change in my life I was a building Surveyor. I am the youngest of 5 boys and have always lived in what Meghan would call "a mans world". I have never had any problems in my career nor in life in general due to being a woman. Now at 65 I am also one of the few female heavy vehicle instructors and one of the oldest. My Mum also was head of an apprenticeship program for one of the then largest technology companies in Australia and never had a problem. I think Meghan thinks we are in the 19th Century not the 21st. Thank you for your videos, you're not shrill, you're enthusiastic and passionate, always remember that!! Love from Australia.💜

The biggest issue is that she has absolutely no preparation to discuss social issues... she thinks she can discuss based on lame anecdotes only (even the shooting to the parlor, she made it about herself), she doesn’t even do a little research on the topic before recording. There is people out there making serious research on social studies, and anybody who is in the slightest interested on racial or gender issues, has far better sources of information and analysis to understand what is going on and what we can do. There is really no reason to hear her podcast.

@@cinnow Most of the rules were established by Queen Elizabeth, who was indeed crowned in the 1950s. I wouldn't be surprised if they relaxed a little since I don't think King Charles cares what color nail polish his daughters-in-law and nieces wear.
Sometimes rules are just commonsense. You wear a hat so your hair is tidy. You wear stockings because it’ll prevent blisters and sweaty feet. It is a sign of respect to wear certain colours at certain events. When invited to another country, different cultures, it is a sign of respect to follow their rules. Meghan didn’t follow any rules because she wanted to be the victim.

There is potential growth if someone learns about their flaws and tries to work on it.
