Day 2 of DNC: Former President Barack Obama, former first lady Michelle Obama and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will speak this evening as the second night of the Democratic National Convention get underway.
The second night of the Democratic National Convention is now underway in Chicago.
Tuesday evening’s programming will feature remarks from former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, as well as other key Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth.
The theme of the night is “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.”
The evening will also feature some Republicans as Democrats seek to demonstrate a capacity to reach across the aisle: Mayor John Giles of Mesa, Arizona, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham and others.
Harris campaigns in Wisconsin: The new party standard-bearer, Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be 90 miles away in Milwaukee for a rally, illustrating the pressure they face to get their message out to battleground states under a dramatically truncated timeline.
Live inside and outside the United Center in Chicago as the Democratic National Convention heads into its second day on Tuesday. Former US President Barack Obama, as well as former First Lady Michelle Obama will give speeches. Harris’ husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is also scheduled to give his speech on Tuesday night.

Harris is scheduled to campaign earlier Tuesday in Wisconsin.
