    The thumbnail for this video instantly reminded me of the old Viennetta ice cream cakes that were popular in the 80s.

    I just made a batch of my beer soap (no charcoal, just oats and coffee) and it always smells soooo good in the studio.

    Have stayed away from beer up until now. This soap makes me excited to try it. The beer is cold but what temp are the oils when you put them together? Thanks for sharing your great ideas!!!

    Any reason you couldn't freeze the boiled beer to minimize the smell/scorching?

    What size glass pitcher did you use? Oils already melted and cooled when you added the beer lye water blend.

    Is there any alternative to the coffee butter? I can't seem to find it here in the UK.

    • @bramble-berry

      You can always use cocoa butter, just make sure you run the recipe through your lye calculator to make sure everything works correctly.

    Can be used a premade soap base to making this soap? Thanks

    • @tleaftreasures1353
      @tleaftreasures1353 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Melt and pour soaps do come in beer bases, depending on where you live. OR just buy your regular base and add a beer scent. The scents are non alcoholic so no need to worry, just use as you would any other fragrance oil.
      Adding actual beer to a melt and pour base, no.

    Something I see a lot in soaping groups is people worrying because unscented beer soap smells awful. Give it time. I made a beer bastille soap with no fragrance, and it took about 3 days for the smell to go away.

  • @robynlong6607

    Have you ever made the soap without a fragrance oil? What is the scent like?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soaps without fragrance tend to take on the more neutral scents of what they're made of. For example, oils like hemp seed oil will give a more nutty smell and beeswax will give a slight honey scent.

      What would you put it in?

    • @lindahalpern5722

      @@witchypath917 HDPE plastic - over time lye etches glass, after a while the glass can shatter. When it happens it's unpredictable and unsafe - you can have shatters of glass mixed in with a lye solution. It has happened to me.

      @@lindahalpern5722 I’m pretty that she mentioned that the containers she uses for the lye are made of plastic in another video, she doesn’t say it in every video but she always uses either plastic or heat-safe glass containers for lye

      I agree. Any soap maker knows that. But she'll figure it out when her glass of lye breaks and goes everywhere. Teach proper safety if you're going to do a class

    I want to start a business but the regulations in Europe make it really hard I don't know any more is it worth it. The more research I do the more initial investment I need to make. Is there someone here who has actually started selling soap in EU?

    PLEASE do a soap without Olive oil. Olive oil is a little bit expensive in Brazil, it's "cruel" use tô make a soap that Will take months to be good to use...

    That's not true that you have to cook the alcohol off first. I don't cook it off and neither does Ariane Arsenault We add the lye to the oils first then the alcohol and have never had a problem.
