What’s your favorite Emergency/Minimalist/Survival and Multifunctional way to protect yourself from the weather and sleep comfortably?
Ottimo set up!

Helikon-Tex Swagman Roll + Rainponcho
This is definitely a good one from a big company. Still like my Wilderness Innovation Poncho/liner and blanket set up better as it is way more versatile still. But this is definitely nice to see a larger company finally starting to figure it out.
This poncho has been well thought out and produced. I’m in the U.S. and we’ve got a company called Wilderness Innovations, very well made ponchos and liners in multiple sizes and a BUNCH of color/camo choices. Also expensive. I like the shirt you’re wearing in this video and your rain pants were a great design too. I’ll be looking into this company, thanks. First time I’ve seen your channel. 👏👍✌️
Never heard of Wilderness Innovation Company before , thanks so much I will definitely check them out! The is an old 5.11 Taclite shirt! Hope you are gonna enjoy my channel, glad to be helpful! Have a great weekend!🙏🏻👍🫵🏻
A good poncho is really hard to beat. This has really smart enhancements that will serve the end user really well.
small funfact: Carinthia is the also supplies the austrian and german military with these so if you are lucky you can get these on military surplus for a bargain. cheers
It would be a great deal to find one of these in the surplus store!
Hi Alex and Erika. Great video keep'em coming. When I go camping it really doesn't matter what kind of poncho or tarp, it could be a trash bag just as long as I'm in the woods. Stay safe you two n be well brother.👊😎🤙🔥🍻🇺🇸
It so nice to find an Italian guy who speak English so well and who speaks about European brands! Thanks
Truly honored thanks! We need to support European brand that are doing a good work ! 👊🏻
@@AlexWander Absolutely! Thanks for doing it!
Thanks For Your support! 👊🏻
The poncho and woobie are my favorite. Smart choice to make military items in the country of use. Great video Sir.
Thanks so much ! 🙏🏻🔥
Hi Alex. Thank you for that honest and detailed review. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Thank you Nigel! Thanks for

Hope you are going to enjoy it man! 🙏🏻🤙🏻
Thank you for a great video
Thank you for your support!
Perfect presentation.👍🏻
Thanks so much friend!!
Sounds super solid, you certainly get what you pay for!!!✊️🔥✌️💚
It worths every penny in my humble opinion!
@AlexWander good quality kit usually is!!
poncho by itself keeps about 5-7 degress warmer depending how you ball up inside
I agree!
So lucky are we.
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
A great set-up, informative review, thanks! Keep up the good work, I just subscribed to your channel. What is the make and model of the shirt you are wearing in this video? Thanks for a quick pointer or even a link ;-)... enjoy your Sunday, Sir.
Thanks so much for your support! It’s a very old 5.11 tactical shirt ,the model is called Taclite pro I have it since 8 years! Here’s a link , hope it helps!

@@AlexWander thank you so much!
Nice product
Thanks!!!!
In trepida attesa maestro Alex 💥💯💥💯💥🔝
Grazie amico amico!!!!!🙏🏻🔥
By the way: the G-Loft fiber is unbeatable, if you dont want to use dawn, but the prices😢 I love my civilian carinthians sleepingbags so much
I agree with all that said!!!
Thank you
Great review. For my emerg set-up, I am using a Hill People Gear Serape and the Jerven Fjellduken. I do not use them in poncho configuration, just sleeping system and tarp.
Thank you! The Hill people Gear Mountain Serape and the Jerven Fjellduken are amazing piece of gear for a sleeping system! What do you think about the brass grommets of Jerven? Have you ever had issues with them? Just curious.
@@AlexWander I normally use the Jerven for a bivi bag or for sitting in. The few times I used it as a tarp were with bungee's and it works well. If you wear it as a poncho, the grommets are mostly in line with the zippers and don't catch on much
@craigrobertson6082 thanks for the infos!
Nice piece of kit! Question - what merino hat are you wearing in this video?
It’s a very old one with non label sorry! Anyway there are some on the market that worths the price 🙏🏻
you gotta try the Jerven Fjellduken man.
Despite they use brass grommets, which I don't like I would love to use one out and see how they are built!🙏
@@AlexWander the brass is backed by leather, no way for them to tear out.
@@davef5916 interesting 👍
I hope Carinthia will watch this video...
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Carinthia is good stuff but good overpriced
Prodotti vetamente al Top!
Funzionano davvero bene e apprezzo tanto la loro longevità!
❤
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
do u have one you would recommend also how much warmer than a swagman roll is it i’ve heard swagman is good to about 50 degrees f not sure about this does it have a temp rating?
The Carinthia Pro Poncho Liner and The Hill People Gear Mountain Serape are way warmer that the Swagman Roll 🙏🏻
Nice Vid
Thank you!
@@AlexWander I'm in the mountains recording an overnighter right now.
@@procaliberhq hope you enjoyed those moments!!!🔥🔥🔥
Have you had a HPG Serape by chance? Been eyeing one for a while but never puled the trigger
I didn’t own one but I had the chance to test it out for a couple of days, the quality is definitely high , warmer than the Carinthia Liner but it’s quite bulky 💁
@AlexWander the bulk is definitely something I had noticed with it and one reason I stayed away. I'm going to look into this setup a bit more
Il poncho è davvero multifunzionale e per questo vale la pena averne uno, anche solo per
Usarlo come bivacco o per stazionare seduti sotto la pioggia riparandosi perfettamente, se la vegetazione però diventa molto fitta il divento matto 😁
I want a minimum 3x3 mtp multicam tarp but cannot find one. Brand options suggestions? A 4x4 would be better too. Preferably similar weight to DD
I think there’s a 3x3 Mutlicam Tarp by DD, did you check it out?
@AlexWander yeah it's not quite a multicam, it's very repetitive like sections of lines very geometric and I believe would stand out a mile, as well DD is UK it has a brighter green shade it would be ok in European areas, but not in Australia its just too green. Helikon tex made one for a while but discontinued it. I'm guessing copyright issues with the camo. 6 foot 5 I just need bigger so a poncho doesn't work for me in the rain lol. The search goes on. Someone may know and the bonus for you is more comments it works the algorithm for suggestions more👌
@@davidleonard1813 yes you're right DD doesn't use orginal Multicam Pattern 🤷🏻 I will search more and see if we can find something closer to what you are looking for , glad to be helpful!
Fjellduken jerven Extreme
I know the brand very well, honestly I've never tried of of their ponchos, but they used grommets which is one of the feautures I don't like in a poncho tarp, I hope i will be able to test one of their products soon, thanks for the head up! 🙏
Is this poncho tarp liner waterproof or do you need to have a poncho to go over it?
The poncho liner is fairly water resistant but I would personally add the poncho tarp onto it to be safe 👍
Great vid. What’s that shirt you’re wearing?
Thank you! It’s an old Taclite Shirt from 5.11 👍
@@AlexWander cheers!
Not sure if I understand 100%. First you talk about the expensive poncho for cold weather from Carinthia, but then you say you switched away from ponchos because you cannot climb and hike through the brush with them?
I love my cheap, huge, indestructible poncho from the Dutch army, and its poncho liner. I also love my Carinthia sleeping bags (I got 2), but some of their products are way, way overpriced.
I meant that after all the test in the latest years I ‘ve crea ed a redundancy where I keep the poncho as a shelter and a rain gear for specific moments but if I have to move fast in uneven terrains or where I have to do more dynamic movements I switch to a different rain garment , hope it’s more clear 🙏🏻
Hey I really like your beanie, what brand is it?
The Beanie is made by Thrudark 👍
@@AlexWander Thanks! I will check it out
Great channel btw
I understand an Arcteryx jacket, but a poncho for 400 dollars?
This poncho is amazingly designed , full of future and it’s made in Europe by a small company with a great customer care, I personally think it’s acceptable . Are you talking about Arc’Teryx or Arc’Teryx LEAF ?
Because the Arc’Teryx Goretex jacket costs 500 dollar and half of the price is for the Brand’s logo and it’s Made in China, if you talk about Arc’Teryx LEAF GORETEX Jacket, it’s another story , it’s Made in Canada and it cost more than 500 Dollars 💁
👊😎🤙🔥🍻🇺🇸
🔥🫵🏻🇺🇸
Are you from italy??
Mi sembra accento italiano...
I am 🤙🏻
Head-hole should be waterproof-zippered flat. That's the best and only reliable way to waterproof it as a tarp. 2) Back of poncho should be high-waist clippable around the front to prevent flapping. Bushwhacking then becomes possible in a poncho. 3) Material should be wpb (waterproof breathable) eVent or GoreTex. Most skimp on breathable materials, since it's assumed ponchos breathe well enough without quality materials, but a true quality build uses the best materials and wpb makes a huge difference when it's time to seal things up against the weather. 4) Challenge Sailcloth made/makes an eVent dcf material that weighs only 1.2oz per sq.yd.. Dcf is typically stronger and lighter than Polyamide.
Zippers make the structure stiffer, it something the would interfere in tarp mode. When you stow the hood inside you have 3 layers of military grade polyamide that makes the water impossible to gets in. Goretex and E-vent are great materials for clothing but they are too rigid to stand tensions created when you set up a tarp in my humble opinion. You can clip every part of the poncho if you need there are some many sturdy buttons everywhere 👍
@@AlexWander - Saw all that. Also saw it weighs 800g. This author's poncho/tarp weighs 242g, is stronger, doesn't billow and breathes better. Goal isn't to rag on your poncho, rather to get your company to make a better poncho (since you appear to be representing them in some way).
@tomnoyb8301 I support the company because I know them, I know their passion but I’m not part of the company, my agenda is free and I show and support only those I think worths. I anyway looking for the materials you suggested because I truly into searching and test new stuff and materials so I thank you for that 🙏🏻
1) it is waterproof 2) use some pracord if it’s not built-in 3) the goretex of today is a hoax, it’s either waterproof OR breathable, not both at the same time.
@@tomnoyb8301 😂😂😂
so when it is a tarp you have nothing to wear, when you wear it you have no tarp
Crystal clear , because I don’t need a tarp when I’m walking and I don’t need a poncho when I’m sitting under the shelter 💁
Phuc this company. You cant even view their website without agreement to there insane access to your personal information.
Wilderness Inovation is better, numerous versions/ sizes / insulation versions.
Their survival poncho HD weighs around 3 pounds , the carinthia pro poncho weighs 1.7 pound, plus their ponchos don’t have a chest pockets and you still have to choke the hoodie to don’t let the rain gets in. Honestly specs don’t impress me much but I would need to use one to have a final opinion, thanks for sharing!
