Im a wing pony, I have multiple wings of different colors to be behind people, I mainly do it for fun, and it makes a few people smile and I adore that. Sometimes other wings join me and can make bigger wings for people to the point we have lines of people wanting to try them out and take screenshots!
I think the reason some people stay afk is to be popular. Like the guy at the docks, you knew him by name because he’s always there. Other players when they continue to see the same pony in the same spot every day will be curious and look at their name. After awhile, all the active players who frequently visit in that area will know their name. It could also be that they are claiming a small portion of the map, like a bench, as their bench.
I know this is pretty random xd but the weird thing is when you cosplay (for Sprunki, Tadc, Fpe, Mouthwashing, etc) people wanna interact with you, but if you arent cosplaying (especially if your new) nobody wants to talk to you, its really weird, but I see why. I cosplay alot and people always friend me asking "omg yk *game/show*!?" Pretty random once again, but I had to let that out.
Cuz those people have similar interests, so there is stuff to talk about. Ocs are not bad at all, but when it's an oc, they don't know what that person is into so it's difficult or even awkward to start a convo
The eternally AFK ponies baffled me at first. xP I can't tell if they're really off tab, and have the ponytown window open... because .. (Mayhaps they want to build up playtime?) Or, if they're just.. sitting there...
Some of these trends are pretty cool! (Unless they get overused like the annoying lineless "cats", or TT/TD/DNI/DID or whatever) the "make a skin with a lot of people" one is by far the coolest, they're so impressive
@dannyballsub I have used every status known to man, and am always near spawn, but noone interacts with characters they don't recognize. The only time I've ever been interacted with were 2 rare cases of people recognizing Azusa Mukami and someone recognizing Lilith from the Gacha games, also one random time someone gave me a flower and told me to have a nice day which was nice

Seems like a bad plan for attention. I mean how many people are going to look at an afk player and go through the trouble of following them on a different website or even go as far as to draw them? It can't possibly be that many. I doubt it would be even 1 no matter how good your pony looked
@dannyballsub bro you would be surprised at how many followers some of them have, it's because there's alot of github ponytowner users, some of them at 100 others even 400, there's also something called atabook where people just go on that website and send questions/compliments, which is why most of them have "sign atabook", these ppl be going afk for long to get messages, github in pt now is like Instagram back 2016 where ppl kept promoting their account, I honestly only have github to put my links there, I really like when ppl send me drawings main reason for going afk for me, but yeah it's honestly kinda a little disappointing that pt is now more focused on getting recognition by being afk, if only the creators of the game would add mini games that would definitely make me feel no need to go afk anymore, pt is like dress to impress now lmao (kinda yapped alot mb)
I sometimes go afk in the library with a book or a pencil and a paper because I am studying and I want my pony avatar to study with me!! It makes me more focused when I'm not studying alone (my friends don't always want study sessions!) ofc I don't do that always when I study and when I'm done I walk around the map I love apps and websites that are made for studying to be fun (like focuverse or virtual cottage) but ponytown just hits different idk :p
The afk ones, i don't get. Playtime is useless. I'd get it if there was passive currency buildup for playing/afking, but there is no currency in the game. And people won't even see your playtime unless you run the command for it in the chat bar. High playtimes are not impressive to me. It's a weird thing to even want to flaunt in my opinion.
trends are pretty cool my opinion on the asking supporter to join their party for higher limits is that its just meh its mainly on the safe server because most people cant afford it since their young unlike 18+ which is mostly adults
I remember when i started playing ponytown when it was new, I remember there was a trend where eveyone would make a completely black pony but the cutie mark, ghe cutie mark was a heart of a random color and we'd just run around the map. At the time it was really new so the most you could do was click on the ground to make the grass turn into the dirt tiles. Of course there were lots of nazi ponies but I dont think thats a problem anymore
5:25 "B/W to edit"s were fine, great even. Then tiktokers made it annoying by instead of waiting for people WILLING to come to you they'll bother everyone. And they'll usually record you to get 5 views on that god forsaken app.
I remember 2 old Pony Town OC trends and their from like mid/late 2016 or a bit after that. The Shorks & Doggos. I still have them on my Pony Town profile as a cool nod to Trend history :D Also, remember there were roleplays were everywhere? i remember back in like 2016-2018, there used to be certain areas for certain roleplays. i personally went to where the Aphmau roleplays were and i even remember joining a little BATIM ("Bendy And The Ink Machine" for people who dont know!) group despite not knowing the game well enough to roleplay but we did Truth or Dare and i still have the BATIM OC... why? idk-
@dannyballsub I mean, if you were asked to help with the limit, you can create a party on another server. The ponies will build their party, for example, on a Chinese server with a maximum limit, but the party does not bother you, because you are on an 18+ server
Oh, I see what you mean, but it is still inconvenient as the players would both have to leave the game and rejoin in a different server, find each other in game and then invite. Also your map will be effected on all servers so if you leave and come back later on the 18+ server, the changes they made to your map will appear there as well
Baguette lines started the very day the bakery was added! There was a huge line that day. Asking to use supportee benefits I only saw and started hearing about when Russia attacked Ukraine and a lot of companies banned Russia from their services, like Patreon. This led to the alternative supporter option of using boosty being added later on, and the asks were the biggest and most frequent in the months around that time, with the largest majority of pushy and rude players who asked. Majority of whom being Russian, which makes sense as even if they were never going to get supporter themselves, they then didn't have the option to. No excuse for entitlement they'd show, though... Something I'd also see a lot and occasionally do, similar to the asking for your supporter, is whispers asking you to buy them supporter, if they see you are one. Because surely one person with supporter means they have the funds to buy it for others! Most of them would be like "can i make you a pony for supporter" (against the tos for ponytown: you are not allowed to sell skins, so I always report those players), "can i do a drawing", or straight up just asking for supporter. These ones I found to be rude more than the others, as if you turn them down they'd get defensive and entitled, and like I said presume you can afford to buy them one too. I'd call skin tinting a trend as it's really big now. I see more people posting tinted skins than not I feel like in the supporter discord server, lol. And yeah the afk ponies are everywhere! I just like having the game open sometimes, so I may be in a skin saying I'm doing art or gaming and occasionally just AFK (when I actually am afk). The rest of the time, I'm hoping people will come up to roleplay. It only ever happens on days when I am using those busy skins or don't want to interact! I'm not sure why. I also just see a lot of rude people playing the game these past few years. Not to stereotype, but almost all have fancier skins and use tiktok and/or Twitter. It's made me wary of going to interact with people myself because so many will just attack you for existing or trying to talk. Is being mean trendy these days? I just use discord ponytown and TH-cam. I kinda like the occasional raid, even with the lag it can bring I find them silly. Those are definitely trends, most raids tend to happen near to each other in time than not.
