  • Boston didn't have the only Tea Party. October 25, 1774, marks the day of the first political demonstration organized solely by women. 51 women in Edenton, North Carolina mailed their proclamation all of the way to England declaring a boycott.

Great video, had no idea this even happened, public school's really should teach more of our nation's history.

Very interesting discussion about the Edenton Tea Party. Being from NC, it's interesting to me to hear how you pronounce Edenton. Here in NC it's pronounced "Ead-dun-ton".

Thanks for letting me know! Out of all the things I was afraid I pronounced wrong, I thought I had that one LOL

So much amazing detail in history people don't understand anymore.
The Annapolis Tea Party was quite an extraordinary event as well! Probably the most destructive and costly.
    Wonderful video!
I'm a daily proper tea drinker, same Chinese black teas that were popular back in the 18th century.
Grocery store tea has absolutely nothing to do with tea from 18th and 19th century teas.

@@SamsonHistorical Excellent! Peggy Stewart was burned to water line! Lots of good information online, but the more you research the more details you'll find.
I'm a Marylander so the Annapolis Tea is of particular interest.
My English and Scottish ancestors were here since the 1670s. Several fought in the revolution and were business and personal friends of John Hanson.
Tea was regularly and consistently smuggled into Maryland through the Chesapeake Bay.
