I'm a 77 year old widow who has just managed to fix my sticky screen door thanks to these instructions, wheels needed a good clean with boiling water and atoothbrush, spritz of WD 40 and its smooth as silk now, best instructions ever
That was it the putty knife. I've watched many videos and my screen door would not come off. Yours is the 1st to help me take off my sliding screen door.
Hi Chris, I have tried using a putty knife, and backed out the tension screws, and still unable to remove the screen door. It almost seems like I need to remove the track, or take apart the whole frame of the screen. What am I missing?
I’d probably suggest damaging that one to get it out and then build a new one that is the right size. Doors unfortunately can shrink because it’s vinyl but aluminum doesn’t so the small tolerances of the door trap it in. If your in Minnesota we could also recreen it in place.
I have been struggling for over a month now trying to get my screen door off to replace the screen. I just cannot get it to the point where I can get the wheels underneath to lift. I'm using a butter knife I've tried it putty knife and nothing will lift them so that I can lift it up and have it come off it's so frustrating
If only you had not done this video when someone was vacuuming or making some other noise that distracted from your demonstration. Did you not hear it?

Thank you so much, your video from so long ago is still helping many years later!
Thank you! I didn't know those were tension screws. I am not a handy person but I followed your instructions and got it out easily.
And, Voila!! Thank you for helping us get our screen fixed.
You are so welcome!
First video I found that explained how to get the screen off the track if there are no tension screws for the rollers!
Glad we could help. Have a wonderful Summer!

Did you adjust the top roller? Sometimes those are too tight so loose in the screws on those ones are the top.
@@ScreenMedic Hi Chris, thanks for the quick response. Yes, I have adjusted both the top and bottom rollers. Any other ideas?

@@ScreenMedic thanks again for the quick response. Unfortunately, I'm down in Florida, unless you want to come and visit! Lol
That would be a hefty trip charge :) best of luck.

Loosen all the adjuster screws so there is no tension on the wheels. This might be your issue?
Nice job!! Thanks!!
Thank you very much.
My pleasure!
Thank you soooooo much! ❤️❤️❤️
what direction do you adjust the screws ?
Clockwise makes the wheels go out more. Counterclockwise will retract the wheels
Thank you!
Anyone tell you you look like Ron Howard when he was your age?
Actually, I have one other time and I looked up some images and do see the resemblance. Have a great day!

Thank you very much sir
Glad we could help!
ThNk u 🎉
THANK YOU
Like it bro
Thank u
Good video. Now get off my deck!😁
This only works if the track is not blocked by the extrusion on the front
U can't see the wheels on mine
Then if all else fails you can take a hammer and bash the living shit out of it till it pops right out. Works like a charm! 👍

That was about 1:45 too long
Thank you!
