Got em installed on 9 floors of the Marriott in Virginia Beach, VA and I’m the service tech that repairs them. Only a year old and they’ve had tons of issues
They are great units, very efficient with like a 13EER with nominal gpm. Tons of them in high rise building on the beach here in Ft.lauderdale. I'm a senior tech here and have a 4ton Bosch in my home fed from a well... it's an open loop that discharges to the canal behind me.
hi, just reading your comment on Florida heat pump. I have unit at my mother's in Sebastian Florida, the reversing valve is not working apparently and guy I usually use says it is too costly to repair. any idea cost to repair something like that, thank you.
My issue, after working quite a bit with this technology here in Phoenix, is there is no good way to capture the condensation that forms on the uninsulated parts of the suction line and compressor. There is no pan, like there is under the evaporator, to catch this. Please let me know your thoughts on this. I have been using a secondary pan and manually emptying it, but I am looking for a better way.
Dave, I had a Florida Heat Pump installed in my new house back in 1998! Still working although recently it has a acquired a small refrigerant leak. Will say it has been a great unit and has needed very little service. I plan to replace it with a Bosch unit. Do you still like them? Problems? Is the two-stage unit a single compressor unit with an unloading scroll? Let me know your more recent thoughts. Thanks.
that bosch unit looks pretty good but in my opinion, nothing is better than a water furmace brand. they are by far the best geo/water source unit in the market. nice video though.
Mr Jones i worked in BS for 10 yrs Naples MIsl . Ft My even Matlacha and El Jobean...Le high...i relocate to SE now but love Mike W. From Whaleys. He will tell u....yeah i like Fhp but since Bosch got it Warranty went less yrs. I m the Co. Ok w me but as customer not good for them...Comp. warranty here sucks...yeah they do not break easy but their warr. Not the best...if water is good there is no issues...i kno lot of good people there....specially the mob homes parks.... tnk u. Be bless
hi dave i'm looking in to putting geothermal in my home could you tell me what the model number of this unit is and is there any rebates with this unit and fed taxes included thanks joe mann.
I guess the question to ask is would this type of unit work in the North such as Illinois where I live. I would like to find a viable option over gas. I don't mind spending extra over a possible return. Any thoughts?
I installed a three and a half ton GEOCOOL brand water source heat pump five years ago. It is very efficient and does a good job but I am disappointed in the noise of the scroll compressor. I have had Weatherking units in the past with centrifugal compressors and they weren't any nosier than this scroll compressor. The GEOCOOL is a quality unit, cabinet is also stainless steel and Cupro Nickel heat exchanger.
Around 4:40-4:60, you say that water is coming in at 60d and leaving at 70d. However, you also say that, refrigeration is taking the heat away from water. Shouldn't the leaving temperature decrease? Also the refrigerant pipe that is used, is the refrigerant used only for cooling the water or also heating the water?
I've worked on a house that has 21 fla hp 22yrs ago this customer called me when I left the company to a school system units are over 25 yrs. Work great refrigerant leaks and water leaks biggest problem. I've replaced 2 w conventional hp . 20k ft of water lines in 15 acre field started leaking ot now has vertical lines house is forsale now ill be glad just because its alot of up keep
How do you remove the blower motor assembly? Is it the 6- 3/8 screws mounted on the top sides of the assembly? there is no access to the sides its in a closet. thanks for your help
Can someone help me understand how the water cools or heats the refrigerant without mixing together both liquids. The coil he is showing makes it look like they are connected together and mixing, which I know is incorrect.
The coil shown is a heat exchange comprising of a water piping that wraps around refrigerant piping. The water will absorb (or release) heat from/to the refrigerant piping without mixing together. They're only exchanging heat, and each run in it's own loop! Its kind of like having a loop of hot or cold copper coil submerged into a tank of water; where the water will absorb the heat of the coil without actually mixing with the water in the loop. Hope this clarifies some of the confusion!
excuse me sr jones a question when a heat pum unit start but stop on 2 minutes what component can be. defrost selenoide or high pressure switch. thank you Sr.
Companies seem to be reluctant to install or support this equipment in Miami. Very disappointed, looks like a well designed heat pump. Was really interested in a residential geothermal system but the pool of companies down to one and won't coordinate a vertical well closed loop system. After discussing this with 15 companies, most feigned ignorance. The three that Got it had 7 day shipping for BOVA system. Plus they all were very worried about the supply chain for parts when it comes to maintenance. Lots of supply houses here for straight cool. All brands except Bosch.
At 1:35. Cold water from the cooling tower does not flow through the evaporator. Wish I had as good of luck with those units as you. I have a building with 40 of those and have had to replace 14 evaporators. And 4 more are leakers. Thumbs down on your video. Plus 2 of the 40 from the factory were leakers with bad welds.

Functionally they’re great when they run. But they pose problems with leaks which is the biggest issue I’ve found in them.

One of the best videos I've seen. Please make more videos about WSHP systems. There is not many videos in youtube. Thanks
Instead of the 1/2 inch installation what would be the next best thing to use for keeping the unit extremely quite?

Which compartment? Top or Bottom? Does the top compartment have lines that aren't insulated or over a drain pan?

If it's a closed loop treat the water but 20 yrs is good
excellent video. thank you for sharing. glad to see you again. thanks
Question how high the temperature can go/the refrigerant mix with the water
The water does not mix with the regiferant.
@gregorygrimm5540 It also costs a lot to replace the evaporator coil every 2 or 3 years.
David, wear can I get a TXV for a Boch water source heat pump, Its a LV series. 410a system

Very very informative, thank you guys, Can you please inform if they are available in 12000/15000 BTU, if so what is the cost.

They should. The ground has a constant temperature. It's always going to be warmer than the winter air and cooler than the summer air.
So glad to see you making videos again.

thanks I appreciate that
David Jones thank you for your videos
I have same unit that looks to have failed reversing valve, any idea cost to repair such part?
What do you thing would happen if we recirculate pure ethanol for the cold cycle?
Thanks for the video!
Muy buen video gracias

It’s a heat pump. Google reversing valve. It does both….
Please tell us where to buy this unit. tx
David Jones great videos, you're my hero :)
Should the white foam under the motor be removed after installation?
Yes
Yes

Good video and props for making the point on proper training. We need god techs out there
Video starts at 4:07
What happens to the water? Lets say in a residential well application. Where does the used water go?
Can someone help me understand how the water cools or heats the refrigerant without mixing together both liquids. The coil he is showing makes it look like they are connected together and mixing, which I know is incorrect.

goes through a cooling tower on the roof
thx for watching

Defrost? Donde vives pues a menos que sea lugar frio Defrost no hay en un heat pump unit. Posible High press switch pero necesitas Gauges to check.
Good video
Malfunction 4 red blinks won't cool compressor does not start help Please Help
LV60VT Nomenclature descaled with Rydlyme still 4 red blinks not cooling PS GREAT VIDEOS !!!

I don’t think water ever runs through the evaporator…
upload more videos thanks
Electric community motor?????
Electric comutated motor
Lmao thats what just said i had to listen to it again
I think you can see how to make it on Avasva . This is just an advice ;)
Sounds like a informational you should get paid! They are good units

Electro what? Lol
Sup nigga, explain how this technology works. This for heating or cooling.
