thank you so much awesome video!! The manual was saying to call a professional tech but they would’ve charged hundreds just to give the same info you did. Thank you again
Save yourself the extra 6:30 and find date code, add 1234 to it, and the sum is your unlock code if you've lost password. Date code + 1234 = unlock pin
I purchased 2 of these units probably 6+ months ago now, and they are really good units. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxcr5WULFU6yC9UUKc_cdNJT9jGa6VxO1l They are great for 3d printer plastic dry boxes, freezers, vehicles, gun safes, and more. The unit in the picture was pulled from my deep freezer and moved into my truck center console (monitoring humidity for water leak). It took a few hours to thaw and normalize temp and humidity reading going from those extremes, as expected, but it handled it well and is still running great.
If your router and it's configuration doesn't meet the thermostat requirements this will happen, there customer support is awesome you should reach out!
@@D2DNYAC Oh, so I needed a router to make it work? That's pretty dumb. What ever happened to things that didn't have life defeating computers in them?
After being educated on heat pump 2 stage auxiliary and emergency systems. I have found I have to change to this thermostat from my other thermostat. With this thermostat i understanding I can lock out the auxiliary heating functions while still keeping the emergency function intact by designating certain temperature that this element will kick in and operate. Here’s my problem. Large vaulted ceiling home, I turn down my heat at night to obviously save money and more comfortable sleeping. Wake up in the morning I usually want to raise my temperature from 71° at night to 77 during the day. Now that may seem high but keep in mind I have the high vaulted ceiling‘s. Here’s the problem. I can only raise my temperature by 2° in the morning to get to my comfort zone at 77°. I raise it more than 2° my auxiliary heating strip will come on and that’s skyrocketing my heating bills. So every 20 minutes I have to walk over to my thermostat and raised by one or 2° several times in the morning at 20 minute gaps to get to 77 without using the auxiliary heating strip. I understand the auxiliary and emergency heating strip is the same strip or the same unit. The only reason the auxiliary heating is kicking because it’s not ““ heating quick enough. I do not care that it may take 30 to 40 minutes to rise the temperature to 77° without The heating auxiliary strip function. I live in southern Alabama and during the time I’m raising the heat to 77 it’s no cooler than 40° outside so there is no reason in the world to use the auxiliary heating function because I am in no hurry for the right now 77 temperature. This is so frustrating that I have to every 20 minutes come and bump up my thermostat to avoid the auxiliary heating function. I understand this thermostat will let me designate a low temperature outside via the Wi-Fi temperature reading outside to enact the emergency heating strip if needed if the thermostat needs to defrost at low temperatures. I understand there’s a lot here but quite simply it’s such a pain to raise my temperature comfortably without running the emergency auxiliary strip. Again the temperature outside is not nearly cold enough that the heat pump can do it it just takes longer which is not an issue for me.
@eaaccountus here's a suggestion shut off the power / circuit breaker to the heat strips until its needed! ... thermostat may have setting that can aid I will check and get back if I find something
@@D2DNYAC that's what I thought but wanted verification from an expert. Thanks so much. The remote thermostat won't connect so I selected factory default and reconfigured the thermostat. When I go to connect device the remote thermostat gives me a no signal message. Thermostat is a Honeywell TH8320 no wifi but has redline.
We use a Honeywell TH8321WF VisionPro 8000 thermostat. The screen indicated the system was "WAITING ON UPDATE." I understand updates can be performed on this thermostat by downloading a file onto an SD Card and then inserting the card in the designated area on the thermostat, i.e., lower right side of the face plate. However, I'm having difficulty getting access to the file or reconfirming the installation process.
Great video, but it doesnt work for me. The previous tenant in this rental must have changed the code and the date code doesnt help, nor does adding 1234 to it, or using 1234
@@forrestsmith2246 I ended up calling their customer service and they found the correct code for me. I couldn’t add 1234 because my last digit was a 7, so when you add 4 to it, you get 11. That would make the code a 5 digit code and you can’t have more than 4.
Hi. My Honeywell thermostat is the th8320r1003 and there is not an installer Options on the view Status menu. There is a dealer Information that I can scroll through but there isn’t but a few lines that are really nothing. How do I get the Installer Options to show up??? I have changed the Cr2032 battery out. Then reset the circuit breakers on the therm and the AC system. Nothing helps. I scrolled to the bottom of the equipment status to the date code it is 1315 This was not the password. I wonder if I need to just update my thermostat???
very strange i have seen a client purchase one of these online and the set date & time option was missing from the menu. is this thermostat new and where did purchase it, you can also call or go to the resideo website for help
It is not new and the R number is the “version” from everything I have read. The r1003 is the oldest of this model. I just today decided to buy a non-smart thermostat and will be replacing this one. For around $28 , it will be less of a headache. I don’t really have a need for the scheduling anyway. But since the thermostat is locked into it’s schedule and I can’t change it, I’m thinking of fall and winter coming up and there would be way to get the heat going. Thanks for your reply.
If the installer options is not available, your thermostat may be locked or partially locked and will need to be unlocked first by clicking on 'security settings.' Unfortunately, the passcode to access security settings is different than that on the name plate and it only appears when locking the thermostat. So far, I am SOL trying to unlock it.
I have not tried this yet but this is from another video I found online: "The date code Plus 1234 is your security code. For example, if the date code is “1647” it would then be 1647+1234=2881 “2881” is the security code. Check the back of the thermostat and find your date code."
@@vanwert123 OMG! This worked for the passcode!!! I thank you so much! I was able to unlock after putting in the correct password. But Im stumped on how to turn off the scheduling ? At least now I can reset the temp as needed but it may still go back to schedule settings at the next time block.

Thanks for helping me find what the PW is for my thermostat! Really appreciate it.
I bought a house with one of these and am totally disgusted with the complexity of it. I have removed it from the wall PERMANENTLY.

Ours does not stay connected to WiFi. I regret buying it.

What should the reversing valve be set on for heatpumps.
It depends mostly on geographic location to the south its usually B and I. The north east here in New York its usually O
Just make a selection and test the system if it blow cold in heat mode or vice versa change the setting around!
