Hi University of Amsterdam group,
I am planning to apply for the Political Science Bachelor's program. I will be pursuing the OSSD (Ontario Diploma) and the program's admissions description states that it is highly recommended to take the Calculus and Vectors course (code MCV4U). I only took the Advanced Functions course, final mark 90% (code MHF4U) and I just wanted to know how much could this lower my chances of getting into this program? Can I still apply and get into Political Science or is it pretty much pointless without the MCV4U course in this case? Thanks in advance for your reply!
Hey! Thanks for reaching out. For admissions-related questions, we usually refer to the programme's contact page. Find their contact details here: www.uva.nl/shared-content/programmas/en/masters/computer-science/programme-contacts/programme-contacts.html?origin=znSrDUT%2BQ5uz6dso72fBmw. You should know about Dutch universities that everyone who meets the entry requirements to the programme they apply for is accepted, UNLESS a programme is appointed as a numerus fixus (meaning a limited amount of spots) or selective programme (meaning there is a more thorough selection procedure). Political science is not a numerus fixus programme this year so you will be accepted if you meet the entry requirements. Read more about selective programmes here: www.uva.nl/en/education/admissions/bachelors/applying-for-a-selective-bachelors-programme.html. Good luck! ^IA
