- Nice to meet you! This is my first video, I hope you will like it. :)
We will follow Marylena Bruenig to work at the Pleasantview Daycare Centre, for this first episode of Monday Week 4.

Just stunningly beautiful and detailed from every perspective. All the time you've spent with the family lines seems to have resulted in such depth of story line, it's amazing. I love the lots, both the way you furnish and modify them. Your photography is superb - those street level shots of cars moving into parking places which sounds simple but isn't - really great.
The community lot daycare is something I've never seen before and I've been playing since the game was published. It's such a good idea. You use mods I'm not familiar with like the one to slow time, and the clothes rack, both of which I have to find.
Love the intro photo of the neighborhood with the horizon line, the autumn trees, and the way you introduce and move into your series. Thank you so much for producing this!

The clothes rack is called Tom's Clothing Tester, and is available if you use the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true cheat, and then shift click on a sim. From there, it's available under spawn. I'm glad you like the neighbourhood view - it's practically only Criquette's stuff, so if you like the looks of it, I recommend checking them out (the hood Feverfew is simply awe-inspiring).

Your game is beautiful. I just found your channel and I decided I wanted to see your videos from the beginning. I usually have a mayor who sims pay taxes and fees to, they build community lots that are not really normal businesses. For example, I usually have a few parks and a YMCA type building.

I'm obsessed with realistic gameplay and immersion with the sims 2 so this video totally scratched that itch, the slower time mod blew my mind, I've been wanting something like that for years. kudos for your creativity in finding workarounds to make this system functional. this was so fun!!! i'm actually super unfamiliar with all the gameplay mods you have going on bc i only really film with ts2 but watching stuff like this always makes me want to play again!! the daycare center was so cool and i really love your renos and makeovers of the sims, your style is distinct from a lot of other let's plays and it really works. very impressive how marylena (you) juggled all those toddlers, it reminds me a lot of ts3 ambitions daycare profession which was one of my faves :))

1. I imagine it would, though I haven't tried it out personally. Can't think of anything that would hinder it.
2. Yes, exactly! So basically, the Bruenig family is "locked" for play for me until I've played the toddlers' families and summoned + moved them back in.
3. I don't use the in game nanny personally, but it could definitely be used. A mod that I use is BoilingOil's "Kids & Pets Unattended", which basically disables the social worker. If you have that and for example have a single parent who's working late, and don't want to use the in game nanny, you could have the toddler be att daycare during the day, and then summon him/her back home together with a grandparent/teenage "babysitter" etc. who will look after the kid until the parent arrives back home. That's something I'm thinking of using myself anyway once a situation like that arises, because I find it more realistic than the in game nanny 😊

Hi! It seems I was immediately addicted to your videos :) The Daycare idea is very interesting! Everything is so well thought out.
Now I am thinking how to implement something like this in my game. Maybe make a home daycare business for families who cannot afford a nanny (nanny is quite expensive in my game). As I understand it, you play one day for each family? Necessary to add a toddler to the current family complicates matters for me, since I play with each family for 4 days.
By the way your game looks gorgeous! What skyline do you use? And I think you use lighting mod, right?

I play one day for each family, and just like you say, it's to keep up with the aging. If you figure out a good way to implement it using more than one day, I'd be very interested to hear how you'd go about it 😊 I'm thinking a schedule for each child might be necessary, to be able to keep up with it 🤔
I use Criquette's skyline that was included with Feverfew - it's just amazing, and pairing it with the rural charm lush terrain makes it all bleed seamlessly together, I just love it ❤
I use Gunmod's Radiance Lighting System 😊 If you're interested in getting it, I warmly recommend getting it together with Numenor's Scriptorium, where it's included with an automatic installation. That way, you get a fantastic program that lets you install modular stairs, fireplaces etc, without having to edit the game files, as well as the lighting mod with simple installation 😊

I have some thoughts about daycare and I need to test them in the game. Now I think what if I don't add the toddlers to the current family, just teleport them and make them selectable ... But in any case, I somehow need to remove the baby from his family when he / she should be in daycare ... It's tricky: D
I am currently using the Maxis Match lighting system but I used to have dreadpirate's version of Gunmod's. It has very beautiful sunsets and sunrises but also some annoying bugs. Do you have any bugs with Gunmod's? Such as stuff on the walls become dark when you move it. Or rooms with no windows get very dark if no lights are on.
By the way, I thought I had a lot of spreadsheets. Looks like I was wrong :D
The only issue with only teleporting the toddlers and making them selectable is that the adults who are not part of their family are prevented from interracting with them properly (I think, but not 100% sure how it works on a residential lot 🤔). Might be depending on relationship level with toddler too. It's definitely tricky, but that makes it fun too!
I wouldn't say it's bugs really, but yeah things get pretty dark with this mod (I actually have an add on that makes it even darker haha!) But yeah, I have issues with shiftable wall deco becoming dark. I had some very noticable issues with it in my first 4T2 speedbuild and have since then been looking deeper into it.
It turns out that it's not because of the lighting mod as such, but rather it makes the issue more noticable (as I understand it). I found info about it on threadandsandpaper's page, as well as a fix for the maxis objects: threadandsandpaper.dreamwidth.org/1499.html
Apparently, it happens when the bottom of the mesh is shifted below ground level, so the fix is to make the objects appear at the very bottom of the wall by default, meaning you need to shift them up to where you want them instead.

@@AniBats I love playing with townies so much, because I want to integrate my hoods everytime, when I try to play "normally" I end up open a store and one thing brings another and then bannn 100000 townies are in my rotation. That's why now I'm trying to play a uberhood adding all the premade townies to to the townie pool. I know, it's too much! hahahha
Haha I feel you! It's so much fun getting to know the townies and creating lives for them. And as you play, you keep meeting randomzied ones that worm their way into your stories too haha

I'm sorry for many questions but I'm trying to incorporate the daycare play into my game, what do you do when your daycare lady is pregnant? I have issues with pregnant sims going to their owned community lots so I try not to send them but I'm also not wanting to hire the nanny for the day they are pregnant
Feel free to ask! I'm happy that you're interested to try this out 😊 I think in the past when Marylena was pregnant, I might have skipped one day (unless it was a weekend), but then I do have a shorter pregnancy span (18 hours to represent 9 months). Something that I have done in a future episode (S2E02) is include a second worker, and one idea could be to temporarily hand the business ownership over to the second sim. If you wanted to try that, you could use Kestrellyn's mod that makes it quick and easy: modthesims.info/d/640450/pass-along-and-transfer-lots-to-all.html Then, once the first sim's pregnancy is over, the ownership could be transfered back to her. Otherwise, another idea could be to simply have the parents who can't stay home with their kids just bring them to your daycare worker's home, and she can look after them at home instead during her pregnancy. Haha, oh dear 😂 It took me an embarassingly long time to figure out what you meant. At first, I thought that maybe it's supposed to be pronounced like "Joey" in Friends. But then it clicked that it was the lack of a "dj" sound 😂
(It's actually pretty interesting - we don't really use that sound in swedish, even when the spelling is literally "dj-" (such as djur = animal). We just pronounce it with "j" in those cases.)
Are you using a lighting mod or something? Bc your game looks different to mine, the lighting, the feel to the camera and so much more I cant put my finger on, it's just different.

By now, it's abandonware as far as I know and can't be purchased other than the discs second hand (and some of the expansions on apple store I think? If you have a mac (I don't so I'm not sure at all if it's correct)).
What I would do if I didn't have it would probably be getting it off oldgames download. But, since I haven't had any reason to look into it, I can't promise that it's the best place.

For time slowing, do you have to have it on every lot?
You do with the version I'm using (Merola's original), but someone mentioned that there's apparently a global version of the time control clock out there somewhere too, and I suppose that would make it affect every lot.
Ani, I'm sorry if you already answer this to someone else in another video, I'm normally don't comment or see the comments section... anyway, totally influenced by your gameplay I started to play with CJH TimeController (global mod of Merola's clock), but the insane relationship decay is really annoying me. Did you still play just with More Realistic Relationship Decay by Simlogical? I already play with it and also with Monique's Relationship (STR) Decay Hack, and they help, but I was wandering if you didn't find another solution recently?
Honestly it's really bothering me as well, and I think that you have found a far better solution to it than I have. I hadn't realized there were mods for slower relationship decay so thank you for letting me know ❤ I didn't even know there was a global version of the time control clock😂
I have been recommended this mod by Lazy Duchess as an alternative to Merola's clock: lazyduchess.tumblr.com/post/635992960425738240/shorterlonger-days-quickerslower-motive-decay
But I haven't tried it out yet so I'm not sure how it works in comparison. But it handles the motive decays better looks like - it doesn't say anything about relationship decay though.
