Quite possibly the greatest performance in the history of recorded music. RIP SRV

You pick the best guitarist to do a reaction to. SRV was in a class of his own. Listen to the masterful guitar work on his instrumental Lenny.

Perfect reaction I love to see younger people appreciating Stevie Ray.

There's nothing that I can bring to the conversation about his immeasurable talent and passion. Instead I will talk about the kind of man he was.
Stevie was know to "hold the door"for his favorite musicians; going out of his way for guys that were either past their prime or just never made it to the big time and getting them on stage with him.
At one point his tour bus driver was waiting to pick him up at the airport. A bunch of Asian tourist just started to randomly file onto the bus, thinking it was for their tour group. Not only did Stevie wait in line to get on his own bus, but asked the driver to take them to their hotel first. The guy was just an absolute sweetheart

This is the 15th reaction to this video I have watched (In 1997, I bought the VHS tape of this entire El Mocombo show). The facial expressions of the reactors when he whips it behind his back and doesn't miss a lick is always priceless.

I loved your reaction!!!! I was blessed to be able to see BB King as Stevie Ray Vaughan's opening act in concert shortly before he passed away and he was mesmorising to watch play live.....he also from what I've read didn't know how to read music and was self taught with the guitar....he was also was one of the most unpretentious musical artists out who didn't really think he had a good singing voice, imagine that!!! You have just started down the SRV rabbit hole and it's full of phenomenal blues playing with a beautiful soul included.....enjoy❤ RIP SRV🙏

    • @vomhausmann
      @vomhausmann ปีที่แล้ว

Yes...the beautiful soul he had was so critical to his awesome skill and playing/singing!! Thank you for reminding us of that fact.

One thing I liked about your reaction video over others I've listened to is that you didn't stop the recording a dozen times to micro critique each section of the performance. I love S R Vaughn, so it was nice to watch and listen to the entire song with you and then hear your opinion. Hope to catch another one from you. 😎 Thanks

He worked at it 7 day's a week 365 day's a year for 7 hour's a day. He was my brother. ❤❤ Hewas doin' this shit when he was 6 years old. You never seen him without a guitar in his hand's or across his lap. He would do the behind his back when he was 10 year's old. Thats when he mastered the Guitar. He loved the Texas Blues when the Blues started. I miss him so much. We where very close like twin's. I listen to him every day and all night. Still cant get enough of my brother's playin'. ❤❤

Love your reaction, and that you didn't pause. You had the smarts to listen, and who needs a reaction because it's all over your face. It just never gets old watching people watch Stevie for the first tme. First the eyes totally widen, then the mouth falls open. Then the gigantic grin you can't wipe off your face. And finally, speechlessness or shock. It's addictive and incurable, but the lasting symptom is joy.
His magic gives the same euphoric feeling of falling in love, and baby you had the look. All the ladies love Stevie. ❤❤❤. ☮️

He always gave everything he had. And it always showed. He wprked at for 7 hours a day 365 days a year 7 day a week. When he was a teen he never took it off his neck. ❤❤

I’m a 70-year-old goofy white lady so I hope I don’t offend you when I say - you are an absolutely beautiful woman and I love that charming little gap in your teeth! It’s cute and adds something to your great looks. Anyway, Stevie got his first guitar at age 8, and the rest is history. He never learned to read music, but that didn’t hold him back. He was still a teenager when the great B.B. King took him under his wing. Stevie usually practiced 5-6 hours a day and played gigs at night. He was absolutely driven. Everyone who encountered him said he was the kindest, most humble human being. The sad thing is he died at age 35 in a helicopter crash leaving a concert venue. We lost him way too soon, but we do have the gift of recordings and videos to enjoy. He was the greatest blues guitarist to ever live.

Hard to top the comments below, but I'll try. Stevie loved the Blues & poured his heart & soul into playing...This is a simple song but tells a great story...You can "feel" the thunder-lightning of a rainstorm through his guitar & the angst in his voice. Bonnie Raitt said that the thing she remembers most about Stevie ( aside from his humility ) was his passion for the Blues...There are no bad SRV songs, take your time exploring the depth of his music. When Stevie plays, he invites you to join him on his journey.

I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The fog was so bad that we stopped and got a hotel room on the way home. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie's brother Jimmie and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!

I got to see in 3 X before he died and it was just magical. I remember buying that first album with double trouble and playing the hell out of it. He's got killer instrumentals but he also has killer songs with great singing and great structure and everything. Mary had a little lamb is a pretty fun take on the children's nursery rhyme. I personally prefer the studio version cuz that's what I heard on the radio and then on the record I bought, but it is really short and he's got a decent live performance of it for sure.

Fantastic reaction, it is lovely to see someone who really appreciates music hear SRV for the first time. If you would like a suggestion for another SRV track I would suggest Life Without You, kive st the Capital theatre in Prosaic New Jersey. It really is a mind-blowing performance and shows Stevie with a slightly different sound.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God said, "Let there be light" .. and there was light. And the evening and the morning was the first day ...
And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" ... So God created Stevie Ray Vaughan in the image of God he created. And then God created guitar and electricity; giving them unto Stevie Ray. And God said unto him, "Be fruitful, multiply and have dominion over all guitarists upon the earth."
And than God saw every thing he had made and it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
And on the seventh day, God blessed Stevie Ray Vaughan and ended his work which he had made and rested.
    RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan
