Concorde (Supersonic Passenger Jet Airliner) New York to London in just 3 hours
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 2 ม.ค. 2018
- Concorde had a cruising speed of 2,179 kilometers or 1,354 miles per hour, which was Mach 2 - twice the speed of sound.
A New York to London flight would only take 3 hours, therefore making it much faster than a regular commercial flight.

Funnily enough I saw and stood in concord only a couple of days ago in the Aerospace Museum in Bristol where it is housed. What a spectacle! Loving the interesting and inspiring work you do here which gives teens like me a much greater insight and interest into history! Keep up the good work!
I was expecting the Falklands video but thank you for this video it was incredible
Seriously simply history makes accurate videos of history I’ve been watching this channel for 4 years
The Soviet version was a very similar copy of the Concorde because spies had infilitrated it's development. Britain and France knew this, however, and intentionally had the designs altered to be worse. While the Soviets managed to get their version in the air first, it was worse and suffered numerous problems.
Unbearable Pain if it was copy why did soviets sold plan for 144 to west?
To make money off of it?
Wow really?
I never knew this
You’re right
James Savage, no to not be beaten
My life goal of him making a Concorde video has been complete , I may now Rest In Peace.

I remember the Concorde plane when I was younger, and then didn’t heard much about it suddenly.

Nice job I love this channel
I love how the characters were dressed like the 90s simple History we love you 😍
Congrats on 500k subs, you guys are awsome!
The Concorde, the plane that promised a new chapter in commercial aviation, a new achievement in the development of aeronautics, yet it couldn't accomplish such ambitions due to the costs of fuel and the enormous amount it consumed and the operational costs for British Airways and Air France....and of course the fatal accident of Air France 4590 with put an end to supersonic air travel. But maybe one day in a not so distant future, that era will return and we will experience what it felt to fly at Mach 2 and fly at 60.000 ft.
Concorde, gone but never forgotten.
Thank you Simple History for remembering this iconic aircraft of aviation's history.
Congrats on 500k !!!!

I remember watching the news as they did a live feed of the last 3 coming in to land. They just looked so cool
To be complet, you should explain that the US has put in place specific regulations to prevent the development of concord on their territory in order to protect their aeronautical industry, thus programming its commercial failure (First Concorde commercial flight was in 1976. One year later FFA decided to prohibit supersonic travel (SST) over the US).
damn i never disappoints if i see simple history videos
Most beautiful plane to fly the skies.
Looks cool
Really enjoyed seeing this no-war related video. Thanks!
Nice animation! For the next video it might be a good idea to talk about the Boeing 747, since it appeared at around the same time and had a totally different concept.
My uncle actually helped design the Concorde and where I live there’s a place with WW1 planes and all that an air craft carrier tour and there’s a Concorde (flown one) that you can go inside and walk around it!
Really cool
I wish you guys had explained the whole development of the Concord, very interesting.

I REMEMBERED RIDING CONCORDE
I had seen that one in London....”BRITISH AIRWAYS.”
It was just stationed there...never to be used again.
I used to say Airline... i don't know why
Waraftermath British Airways
Token Black god damn...I forgot
Waraftermath you're not the only one who forgets stuff; no problem chap.
Waraftermath I saw it when I was taxiing from terminal 2 to the rubway6
There's one by the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados
I wish Concorde reborn again.
이동연
Even today, the gas price to mileage would not make up for it....
People nowadays prefer cheaper flight than faster flight.
이동연 if they can find engines that can propel a airliner at mach 2 without guzzling fuel like crazy, you will see the return of the SST
I love history
*Not Unusual Scout from Scout Army is here, reporting for duty.*
