I have a 22 MDX Advance (Non Type S , although I have pined for one!). When I leased mine in August 2021, the Type S was not out yet; If it was, and I drove it, I would have probably went that route. But premium gas was about $3.49 a gallon up from $2.99 or so at the beginning of the year (reasons for same not for this Forum). Now at well over $4.50 a gallon for Premium , the lower MPGs in the Acura is a considertion - for me as a 72 YO retiree. Acura was remiss in NOT continuing to produce a redesigned MDX with the 2018-2020 Sport Hybrid Model! That model sued the same 3.0L V-6 , with a electric Hybrid system which prioduced over 300 HP / and about 325 pounds of torque with 15-20% better MPGs. More HP and Torque better MPGs for anout $1800 premium on the price. Bingo - that would have been a Home Run !! Add some of the features of the Type S and then they would have a Grand Slam!. The new ZDX will be a faliure similar to all the new EV entries by the non Tesla competitors. I don't need to add Battery Anxiety to my psyche list!
I agree with you the ZDX will be a failure also I personally think the MDX Advance is a better choice than the Type-S. The standard MDX is more reliable, doesn’t have low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, and no MDX is a performance vehicle. I do wish Acura brought back the sport hybrid trim level though. My mom has a 2023 MDX Advance and it’s incredible but I think I would like it more if it was hybrid. For those folks who want SUVs with performance, they should ignore the Japanese and go German. We’re currently in the market for another luxury SUV (2-row one) and the next car will be a 2025 BMW X5 40i M Sport with all the options (planning to get it later this year). Def buy out your leased MDX or get something German!
@Bloodmoney92. if he has the car, I’m pretty sure he can afford the gas, people like to save money though and that’s okay, we have the 2023 MDX Advance and don’t tend to worry about gas mileage as we need the space and it’s a reliable car that will last us a long time, and if we want good gas mileage (and/or good performance) we can always use our BMW X5 (don’t have it rn but we’re getting it later this year)

If you want reliability, value and performance get an Acura MDX Type S. If you want a BMW, more than likely it's because you're a fan girl. My mom is getting a 2025 X5, however she is leasing it. She has always liked BMW but even she knows they are not reliable.

Also the standard MDX is more worth it than the Type-S as the Type-S is less reliable and has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads. Also regarding the X5 they are reliable as long as you get the 40i and it doesn’t have air suspension (less reliable than a non Type-S MDX tho). I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance (had it for 2 years and hopefully we can keep it another 10) but I’m really excited for my dad to get a fully loaded 2025 X5 40i M Sport later this year (we want to downsize our 2018 QX60). Hopefully we can pay off our X5 in the 1st 12-24 months of ownership than keep it another 5-7 years on top of that. Also keep in mind the X5 will get much better MPG and much better performance than ANY MDX. If your mom is leasing a X5, tell her to opt for the plug-in hybrid (50e). It’s a less reliable car but much better on gas and has more performance. The cost difference between leasing the 2 isn’t much either.
Acura also lacks the performance of BMW even the Type-S, for the MDX the standard one is marks worth it tbh (it’s more reliable too), go German if you want performance

Actually the BMW X5/X6 are more reliable than the MDX Type-S but less so than the standard MDX, I feel the regular MDX is a better value than the Type-S as it’s more reliable and neither MDX has performance, my mom’s got the MDX Advance and my dad is getting a fully loaded X5, they are very different and both incredible in their own ways
@CarGeek360 BS, never had any issues with my 2022 Type-S 😂😂 keep dreaming, BMWs always has electrical issues and many other BS things wrong with their engines. Maintenance is a small fortune just for simple things like oil changes.
According to JD Powers, BMW beats Acura in initial quality. According to Consumer Reports, BMW X5/X6 is more reliable than the MDX. Both companies build quality cars.

@@almassengale. Lumping all German brands together is the mistake. I’ve also owned a BMW, a Mercedes, and an Audi. The BMW, a 2003 Z4, which I owned for 20 years, was very trouble free. The Mercedes, on the other hand, had things failing at 5 years old that should never fail. With any German brand, finding a good independent mechanic is important for controlling repair costs. Having said that, I currently own a 2024 MDX Advance. A son is driving my 2005 Pilot and a son-in-law is driving my 2010 MDX.
I love my mdx type S and have no regrets. It's great BMW is that good, but I still would choose Acura. Many forget BMW, Mercedes, audi, etc are called luxury brands, while Acura is premium brand means it offers more than the Honda products. Also, many don't know mdx started this segment and still number 1 selling in that segment, and price and reliability and resale value, and built quality, and crash test results. Yes I wish mdx offers hybrid versions and all Honda products, but, I am still happy as well as my family
The OG MDX was an Isuzu Trooper, not made by Honda at all. Same the OG Passport, it was an Isuzu Rodeo. The true first Premium Crossover SUV was the Lexus RX300, which has continued to lead in sales for the many years its been sold.

@@PsychicMedium4747 If I were a rich man I would lease the Germans because I love the style (except for ANY coupe SUV). These are SUVs so 8/10th performance is a wash for me. Since I am not a rich man and have to live with these vehicles every day and also pay to upkeep, my purchase dollars go to Acura.
The most expensive maintenance without argument is that of the BMW, no argument. Reliability may become an issue as the type S does have different engine and the addition of turbo and air suspension adds more maintenance and or replacement of components which are extremely expensive to replace or repair. As a owner of 2011 MDX 300HP and 270 torque, reliability is very good of my car. I dont think, i still be driving an X5 or X6 with 120k miles with just oil changes and light maintenance. Acura does have an attractive product

MDX is amazing for reliability, my parents had a 2009 MDX for 9 years in the past and we hope to keep our 2023 MDX (that we got almost 2 years ago) for another 8-10 years
I have a friend who would have nothing to do with an MDX again. He had troubles with that machine which his dealership couldn’t handle satisfactorily and was involved in an accident. He got an RX 350 and now wants an X5 with the B58 engine and all its pleasant refinement.

For those that don't want leather, Sensafin is an option much like Mercedes has MBTex; both are more animal friendly. If you want high quality leather, you can get it in the BWM as well while you can't get a leather alternative in the Acura. ALSO, you can absolutely get massage seats in the BMW as an option. Just want to be transparent here as the review is a little misleading.

For people whom continue to spew the old, "BMW's reliability is questionable?" Remember that this X6 like others, comes with the bullet proof B58 engine. I believe this X6 comes with the 3rd generation of said B58 engine (code name B58TU2).
They are uninformed. When you present them with facts and studies conducted by reputable sources, they still reject it. The X5 ranks as the number 1 luxury SAV in initial reliability. The MDX comes nowhere close to the top list. The X5/6 is more fuel efficient and smoother with great driving dynamics. B58 engine all the way.
Not sure about this comparison, but the take away from this is… Add a set of summer tires to the Acura and it’s a better driving car than the X6. 🤷🏽♂️ For the average person get the Acura. If I hit the lottery, I’m buying a loaded X6 all day and twice on Sundays.
All these comments about superior Acura reliability, maybe that was true back in the day but they just recalled 300,000 Pilots and Type S’s for engines stalling. This doesn’t exactly reassure me it’s the safer choice, think I’ll roll the dice with an X5 and extended warranty.

Here you are again! Japanese brands include a lot more than just Lexus and Acura, shall I point you in the direction of Infiniti and Nissan? They have abismal reliability! This is why people like you cannot and are not taken seriously. Nissan has not made a reliable car since the early 00s. So when comparing Acura with BMW, the BMW wins. Heck BMW is ranked higher than Acura by CR and JD Powers. BMW has been having DECADES of reliability. Since the 80s BMWs have been reliably. They had a rough patch in the Late to mid 00, but even since they course corrected. The engines which gave them issues were the N54/N63/N20, none of which have been in production for a long time. N63TU2 has been reliable, the N55 and B58 even better. But you do not care about actual data and only your feelings.

Type S, 21 mpg highway at best and with a smaller gas tank, range in the mid 300s. Type S engine and trans feel VERY MUCH less responsive than the X6. Handling similar. Ride quality, MDX wins hands down. Interior space, MDX wins hands down. X6 much quieter inside. Love the MDX massage seats! Agree with the steering comments.
I’d agree with you if they were comparing the standard MDX, the Type-S isn’t worth it to me as you’re sacrificing reliability, getting low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, and still not having performance, I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance and I’m ecstatic for my dad to get a fully loaded 2025 X5 40i M Sport later this year
@@VenomTech72 I won’t, a lot of people have modified B58s and made great sums of power, just not on a X5, X6, or X7, I truthfully suggest you sit down, numerous people have turned Supras, M340is, etc (which use the same B58 engine), there’s a reason why my dad wands his next car to have a B58 (tbf he’s not gonna mod it), NOT a J30AC, the B58 is truly as incredible as the car community describes it to be
The BMW does have eye tracking, which should make it easier to try it hands free. The fact that he was wearing very dark shades may have affected the ability to continue in self-driving mode for an extended period of time.
I'll take the "feel" and "braking" and "reliability" of the Acura. The BMW has a great engine in the B58 and a ZF transmission... but my past BMW's have been plagued by electrical issues and technology issues that are expensive to fix and just really annoying (I wouldn't worry about being stranded... just annoyed). With the Acura, it is very unlikely it will have nearly the same levels of small issues popping up over time, and when they do, it will be way cheaper to fix. Not only that, but the MDX is just more practical, has a nicer interior, and is cheaper.
Honestly for the MDX I feel like the standard one is more worth it than the Type-S, you don’t have to deal with low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads and the standard MDX is more reliable (why you get an Acura), also the MDX and MDX Type-S are fantastic luxury SUVs but mediocre performance SUVs, as far as the BMW goes, it’ll destroy the MDX performance wise even the base ones, I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance but the 2025 X5 40i M Sport (fully loaded) my dad is getting later this year is def the better car
Is that why the X5 for the last five-six years has been on CR top ten SUV, while the MDX is not even in it? The newer Acuras have been known to be plagued with this items you are attributing to BMWs.
@@AgonxOC mainly the Type-S one, the turbocharged engine had issues initially and we all know the problem with air suspension, the standard MDX will be more reliable (more reliable than the X5 too), in addition some of the early build 2022 MDXs also had issues due to being a 1st model year product which is why I usually like to wait until model year 2 (in some cases model year 3). The new X5 with the B58 is def a reliable car but it’s still gonna be less reliable than a non Type-S MDX (just don’t get the 1st year model of either).

@@TheBreakfastLover PLEASE stop lying, the normal MDX does 0-60 in 6.3 secs, the MDX Type-S does 0-60 in 5.7 secs, the X5 40i does 0-60 in 4.8 secs and I’d assume the X6 40i is slightly quicker, X5 will significantly outhandle the MDX too especially with the M Sport Pkg (and ofc the X6 handles even better). Honestly I feel the normal MDX is more worth it over the Type-S as no MDX has performance going for it, the Type-S is less reliable, and the Type-S has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads. We have the 2023 MDX Advance and it’s a fantastic luxury SUV and honestly a bit more comfortable than the new X5/X6 but I’m excited for us to get a brand-new X5 (fully loaded) later this year (to replace our 2018 QX60) as the X5 has actual performance unlike the MDX. X5 gets MUCH better MPG too, has better tech, and it has brand prestige going for it. That’s why I say it’s worth every penny over the MDX if you don’t need the space of the Acura.

Idk about that comparison, I’ve been in both and the X7 is def nicer but the MDX shockingly has more space, I’d say the X7 is a Range Rover competitor, a X7 buyer will be very different from a MDX buyer tbh
I think from the pricing point these two are a fair comparison, but the X5 would have been better. Again not a lot of people are using the MDX third row in reality. I like the looks of the MDX, but I take the X5 over it (I own a G05 X5, which has been extremely reliable. The car is five years old now). The X5 is a joy to drive, mine even has massaging seats, so the sticker is a few thousands above the MDX, but well worth it. The X5 is cheaper than the X6, so a well optioned X5 will be a tad below 80K, just like this MDX.

The main thing that separates the two is the MDX obviously having more space (and yes the 3rd row is useable). The MDX actually has more space than the BMW X7 and is on par with the Mercedes GLS. Also, the MDX has an edge on comfort over the X5 although both are very comfortable. In addition, the X5 doesn’t have a nicer interior than the MDX although it does have better tech than our Acura. The X5 is def worth every penny over the MDX though as the X5 comes from the more prestigious brand and it will DESTROY the MDX from a performance standpoint (+ the X5 gets superior MPG). Also don’t even try to bring the MDX Type-S into the equation bc it still can’t perform (although being a fantastic luxury SUV), has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, and is less reliable than the standard MDX and even the X5 (given that the X5 doesn’t have air suspension). Both our MDX and X5 we’re getting are fantastic vehicles and I’d highly recommend them both! I like our MDX because of the space it has to offer but that aside I will agree that the X5 is the superior car (hence why it’s more expensive)
Why would you compare a Acura MDX to a BMW X6? The BMW X6 is a coupe SUV. The Acura MDX is a three row SUV. Why would you compare them two together? Do something like a X7 and a Acura MDX cuz the BMW X6 and Acura MDX is not a comparison

I would take the Acura anytime of the day!! We know that Japanese vehicles are much better built than German vehicles more reliable and they also hold their value better because of that reliability!! The only reason why you're find a BMW because you haven't driven an Acura!!
This compared the fully loaded/top of the line MDX….. to a base BMW X6. While they are both technically “competitors” no one that is interested in a BMW will cross reference with an Acura. BMW buyers will often cross shop Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Cadillac (in some cases), and maybe Lexus (for the higher end models) like LS500 and GX SUVs. Apples to apples in here will be a BMW X5/X6 M60i xDrive vs Acura MDX Type S…. But that would be 100k vs 73k. Both brands just can’t be compete apples to apples against each other 🤷🏽♂️ they are on complete different brackets
Most people that can afford $100,000 vehicle don’t really care about resale value and reliability because they only keep it for two or three years like myself so I would go for the BMW simply because it’s better and all categories
Why x6, but not x5? Bmw screen climate control - 🤢, it makes this car feel cheeper. Bmw is more fuel efficient , it’s a big plus for bmw. So acura should make a sport hybrid version that will change the game
Just consider after 50000 miles. After 50k miles BMW will be crap whereas MDX will last longer and longer. My 2014 MDX now crossed 152K miles still looks brand new in terms of performance and comfortability. 😂
Except the BMW is reliable too (with the inline 6), also for the MDX I think the standard one is more worth it than the Type-S as it’s more reliable and won’t have low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, leave performance to the Germans as they do it better

I present to you Nissan. MY neighbor’s Pathfinder with 86K miles is needing a new transmission. Never had that issues with my BMWs, but I did have that issue with my RX350, except that was at 66K miles. Luckily for me Lexus had at the time a 70K-5 year warranty, but man that was a pain in the ass dealing with the dealer. They were worse than BMW.

The point of SUV is roominess. X5 over X6. Engine and transmission BMW easy over Acura. Interior of that x6 is a mess. I think I rather have a regular Acura minus type S goodies, but really a Pilot higher trim is even better.
All of these features this thing has you cannot find on the Acura there's 100 poyntz for the Acura because nobody wants it on the Acura it's absolutely nonsense not needed absolutely garbage as long as you can think and you have a brain in your head should be able to drive without any of this stuff if you can't take a taxi!! At the end of the day, it's a $75k Japanese vehicle vs an $87k German vehicle. In my life I've only owned Japanese and German vehicles.. With that being said, I would take the X6 over this Japanese.

I agree with you the ZDX will be a failure also I personally think the MDX Advance is a better choice than the Type-S. The standard MDX is more reliable, doesn’t have low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, and no MDX is a performance vehicle. I do wish Acura brought back the sport hybrid trim level though. My mom has a 2023 MDX Advance and it’s incredible but I think I would like it more if it was hybrid. For those folks who want SUVs with performance, they should ignore the Japanese and go German. We’re currently in the market for another luxury SUV (2-row one) and the next car will be a 2025 BMW X5 40i M Sport with all the options (planning to get it later this year). Def buy out your leased MDX or get something German!
@Bloodmoney92. if he has the car, I’m pretty sure he can afford the gas, people like to save money though and that’s okay, we have the 2023 MDX Advance and don’t tend to worry about gas mileage as we need the space and it’s a reliable car that will last us a long time, and if we want good gas mileage (and/or good performance) we can always use our BMW X5 (don’t have it rn but we’re getting it later this year)

Also the standard MDX is more worth it than the Type-S as the Type-S is less reliable and has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads. Also regarding the X5 they are reliable as long as you get the 40i and it doesn’t have air suspension (less reliable than a non Type-S MDX tho). I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance (had it for 2 years and hopefully we can keep it another 10) but I’m really excited for my dad to get a fully loaded 2025 X5 40i M Sport later this year (we want to downsize our 2018 QX60). Hopefully we can pay off our X5 in the 1st 12-24 months of ownership than keep it another 5-7 years on top of that. Also keep in mind the X5 will get much better MPG and much better performance than ANY MDX. If your mom is leasing a X5, tell her to opt for the plug-in hybrid (50e). It’s a less reliable car but much better on gas and has more performance. The cost difference between leasing the 2 isn’t much either.
Acura's going to have a better depreciation curve than a modern BMW, and easier to service.
That's why you lease a BMW but you own an Acura.

Actually the BMW X5/X6 are more reliable than the MDX Type-S but less so than the standard MDX, I feel the regular MDX is a better value than the Type-S as it’s more reliable and neither MDX has performance, my mom’s got the MDX Advance and my dad is getting a fully loaded X5, they are very different and both incredible in their own ways

@@almassengale. Lumping all German brands together is the mistake. I’ve also owned a BMW, a Mercedes, and an Audi. The BMW, a 2003 Z4, which I owned for 20 years, was very trouble free. The Mercedes, on the other hand, had things failing at 5 years old that should never fail. With any German brand, finding a good independent mechanic is important for controlling repair costs.
Having said that, I currently own a 2024 MDX Advance. A son is driving my 2005 Pilot and a son-in-law is driving my 2010 MDX.
I love my mdx type S and have no regrets. It's great BMW is that good, but I still would choose Acura. Many forget BMW, Mercedes, audi, etc are called luxury brands, while Acura is premium brand means it offers more than the Honda products. Also, many don't know mdx started this segment and still number 1 selling in that segment, and price and reliability and resale value, and built quality, and crash test results. Yes I wish mdx offers hybrid versions and all Honda products, but, I am still happy as well as my family
The OG MDX was an Isuzu Trooper, not made by Honda at all. Same the OG Passport, it was an Isuzu Rodeo. The true first Premium Crossover SUV was the Lexus RX300, which has continued to lead in sales for the many years its been sold.

Since I am not a rich man and have to live with these vehicles every day and also pay to upkeep, my purchase dollars go to Acura.
The most expensive maintenance without argument is that of the BMW, no argument. Reliability may become an issue as the type S does have different engine and the addition of turbo and air suspension adds more maintenance and or replacement of components which are extremely expensive to replace or repair. As a owner of 2011 MDX 300HP and 270 torque, reliability is very good of my car. I dont think, i still be driving an X5 or X6 with 120k miles with just oil changes and light maintenance. Acura does have an attractive product

MDX is amazing for reliability, my parents had a 2009 MDX for 9 years in the past and we hope to keep our 2023 MDX (that we got almost 2 years ago) for another 8-10 years
I have a friend who would have nothing to do with an MDX again. He had troubles with that machine which his dealership couldn’t handle satisfactorily and was involved in an accident. He got an RX 350 and now wants an X5 with the B58 engine and all its pleasant refinement.

For those that don't want leather, Sensafin is an option much like Mercedes has MBTex; both are more animal friendly. If you want high quality leather, you can get it in the BWM as well while you can't get a leather alternative in the Acura. ALSO, you can absolutely get massage seats in the BMW as an option. Just want to be transparent here as the review is a little misleading.

Not sure about this comparison, but the take away from this is… Add a set of summer tires to the Acura and it’s a better driving car than the X6. 🤷🏽♂️ For the average person get the Acura. If I hit the lottery, I’m buying a loaded X6 all day and twice on Sundays.

BMW has been having DECADES of reliability. Since the 80s BMWs have been reliably. They had a rough patch in the Late to mid 00, but even since they course corrected. The engines which gave them issues were the N54/N63/N20, none of which have been in production for a long time. N63TU2 has been reliable, the N55 and B58 even better. But you do not care about actual data and only your feelings.

Type S, 21 mpg highway at best and with a smaller gas tank, range in the mid 300s. Type S engine and trans feel VERY MUCH less responsive than the X6. Handling similar. Ride quality, MDX wins hands down. Interior space, MDX wins hands down. X6 much quieter inside. Love the MDX massage seats! Agree with the steering comments.

The BMW does have eye tracking, which should make it easier to try it hands free. The fact that he was wearing very dark shades may have affected the ability to continue in self-driving mode for an extended period of time.
I'll take the "feel" and "braking" and "reliability" of the Acura. The BMW has a great engine in the B58 and a ZF transmission... but my past BMW's have been plagued by electrical issues and technology issues that are expensive to fix and just really annoying (I wouldn't worry about being stranded... just annoyed). With the Acura, it is very unlikely it will have nearly the same levels of small issues popping up over time, and when they do, it will be way cheaper to fix. Not only that, but the MDX is just more practical, has a nicer interior, and is cheaper.
Honestly for the MDX I feel like the standard one is more worth it than the Type-S, you don’t have to deal with low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads and the standard MDX is more reliable (why you get an Acura), also the MDX and MDX Type-S are fantastic luxury SUVs but mediocre performance SUVs, as far as the BMW goes, it’ll destroy the MDX performance wise even the base ones, I love my mom’s 2023 MDX Advance but the 2025 X5 40i M Sport (fully loaded) my dad is getting later this year is def the better car
Is that why the X5 for the last five-six years has been on CR top ten SUV, while the MDX is not even in it? The newer Acuras have been known to be plagued with this items you are attributing to BMWs.
@@AgonxOC mainly the Type-S one, the turbocharged engine had issues initially and we all know the problem with air suspension, the standard MDX will be more reliable (more reliable than the X5 too), in addition some of the early build 2022 MDXs also had issues due to being a 1st model year product which is why I usually like to wait until model year 2 (in some cases model year 3). The new X5 with the B58 is def a reliable car but it’s still gonna be less reliable than a non Type-S MDX (just don’t get the 1st year model of either).

Honestly I feel the normal MDX is more worth it over the Type-S as no MDX has performance going for it, the Type-S is less reliable, and the Type-S has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads. We have the 2023 MDX Advance and it’s a fantastic luxury SUV and honestly a bit more comfortable than the new X5/X6 but I’m excited for us to get a brand-new X5 (fully loaded) later this year (to replace our 2018 QX60) as the X5 has actual performance unlike the MDX. X5 gets MUCH better MPG too, has better tech, and it has brand prestige going for it. That’s why I say it’s worth every penny over the MDX if you don’t need the space of the Acura.

I think from the pricing point these two are a fair comparison, but the X5 would have been better. Again not a lot of people are using the MDX third row in reality. I like the looks of the MDX, but I take the X5 over it (I own a G05 X5, which has been extremely reliable. The car is five years old now). The X5 is a joy to drive, mine even has massaging seats, so the sticker is a few thousands above the MDX, but well worth it. The X5 is cheaper than the X6, so a well optioned X5 will be a tad below 80K, just like this MDX.

The X5 is def worth every penny over the MDX though as the X5 comes from the more prestigious brand and it will DESTROY the MDX from a performance standpoint (+ the X5 gets superior MPG). Also don’t even try to bring the MDX Type-S into the equation bc it still can’t perform (although being a fantastic luxury SUV), has low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, and is less reliable than the standard MDX and even the X5 (given that the X5 doesn’t have air suspension). Both our MDX and X5 we’re getting are fantastic vehicles and I’d highly recommend them both! I like our MDX because of the space it has to offer but that aside I will agree that the X5 is the superior car (hence why it’s more expensive)

This compared the fully loaded/top of the line MDX….. to a base BMW X6. While they are both technically “competitors” no one that is interested in a BMW will cross reference with an Acura. BMW buyers will often cross shop Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Cadillac (in some cases), and maybe Lexus (for the higher end models) like LS500 and GX SUVs. Apples to apples in here will be a BMW X5/X6 M60i xDrive vs Acura MDX Type S…. But that would be 100k vs 73k. Both brands just can’t be compete apples to apples against each other 🤷🏽♂️ they are on complete different brackets

Also there are many shitty Japanese brands in the mix to call the Japanese overall more reliable that then Germans. I present to you Nissan. MY neighbor’s Pathfinder with 86K miles is needing a new transmission. Never had that issues with my BMWs, but I did have that issue with my RX350, except that was at 66K miles. Luckily for me Lexus had at the time a 70K-5 year warranty, but man that was a pain in the ass dealing with the dealer. They were worse than BMW.

@Bloodmoney92. well my mom owns a 2023 MDX Advance and my dad is getting a fully loaded 2025 X5 40i M Sport later this year, the X5 isn’t any nicer than our MDX and the MDX has an edge on comfort but the X5 has better tech and far superior performance, MDX Type-S isn’t worth to it to me as you’re compromising reliability and getting low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads (also no MDX is a performance SUV)

2025 MDX has changed.
The point of SUV is roominess. X5 over X6. Engine and transmission BMW easy over Acura. Interior of that x6 is a mess. I think I rather have a regular Acura minus type S goodies, but really a Pilot higher trim is even better.
All of these features this thing has you cannot find on the Acura there's 100 poyntz for the Acura because nobody wants it on the Acura it's absolutely nonsense not needed absolutely garbage as long as you can think and you have a brain in your head should be able to drive without any of this stuff if you can't take a taxi!! I watched this video and I learn more about the BMW how much garbage it really is how much more better it is to go with the Acura more simple nice riding SUV what's a power lots of luxury find the best of all the best reliability!!!! At the end of the day, it's a $75k Japanese vehicle vs an $87k German vehicle. In my life I've only owned Japanese and German vehicles.. With that being said, I would take the X6 over this Japanese.

I wouldn’t compare Acura with BMW in general, BMW will destroy Acura from a performance standpoint, even the MDX Type-S lacks performance, honestly for the MDX I think the regular one is more worth it as it’s more reliable, cheaper, and you don’t have to worry about low-profile tires that go flat easily on bad roads, leave performance to the Germans
@Bloodmoney92. the Acura is WAY nicer than your typical Honda, as I explained it's just as nice as the X5 we're getting (also before you ask my dad and I have sat in 10 new X5s and test drove 3 + he's had a new gen MDX the past 2 years and intends on keeping it another 10)
