Happy Belated Birthday, Lonnie. Sorry I forgot to do so, in the last video. Take advantage of the mild weather and get the extra things done now. Then you'll have a jump on planting season.
Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable. Would not believe you are doing all these field activities in February. Same way here in Iowa. Above average temperatures for sure. Gives you a chance to get a few things done. You have a lot of inside storage which is nice for your equipment. Good to keep equipment inside if possible. That cow lot looks nice after you ran the spring tooth piece of equipment over it. Smoothed it out real nice and worked the manure in. Good for the soil. Lonnie cleaning up the skid steer and oil change. Good to keep equipment up to speed on maintenance. That field your dad did with the tillage disk looks good. Worked that manure into the soil. Did that in February. Wow. About it I guess. Thanks for everything Kip. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Everyone knew it was looking like things were to proceed this way. I wonder how this 2024 growing season is going to go. The way things are going if there's a reason for crop insurance, this is it.
Yup Canadian disc up here Deere calls it a rock disc gangs mounted on cultivator shanks.Ours has factory harrow times use it for manure on stubble. Love the Bronco have an 86 with Canadian body lift hockey pucks.Keep smiling .
I’ll be discing this spring on a much smaller scale as I bought two Agri Fab discs I’ll assemble and mount back to back, plus I’ll modify two cheap lawn aerators to mount behind the disc to help break up the chunks. I’ll pull it with one of my Toro 5xi garden tractors. I also have a new Brinly 1 bottom plow I recently got and a Brinly back blade I got 10 years ago, new, never used for $100.
Always good to get out in the fields early then you have a jump on spring work. Had good weather here in central New York till today temps are in the 20s with 30 mph winds
Lol watching you with the scale brought back memories!!! I use to be able to do the 300 , but how do you see what you can do today when it's digital and it can't decide a number 🤔😃
Shows you just how much the climate has changed. Growing up in the 50's all the seasons were what they were titled. Winter was winter, spring was spring etc. This time of the year the snow banks were as high as the old telephone poles. 15 feet high on the sides of the road in southern Ontario that neighbours the state of Michigan. The risk this time of the year with the climate change is weather like we've gotten and the buds of the trees starting to sprout. If the fruit trees start to bud out and produce the blooms then there goes some of the crops. Not to long ago the cherry trees did just that started an early bloom then it froze again and lost the cherries for the year. March and April seem to get more than their fair share of winter storms. Not uncommon these years to have snow flurries in May. Farmers are dependant on weather, the rainfall we experienced last year as an example puts a lot a pressure on farms. Sometime crops will get drowned out the crops. So do you replant if there's time? Then the wet weather while you try to harvest is another challenge. Don't envy a farmer trying to cope with the challenges of farming. It's definitely not like managing other industries.
Boy you got good soil, get your Work out can you spare a few potato acres , yep just put a few in by the house , don't quit your day job I don't want you to compete against the onion and carrot farms 😊 neighbors are family "peace out"
....but Kip, in all seriousness....do you really think cows have the aesthetic sensibilities to appreciate "sleeping out under the stars"? If I was a cow (which, thankfully, I'm not...) I'd "appreciate" a good night IN THE BARN...Another good video, thank you, and thanks also for lettin' your light shine at the end(s)! Spring-tooth(ed) harrows, seldom seen nowadays, are really quite a "thing" ain't they? You "done good" giving your cattle a smooth, pockmarked-free surface upon which to stand. It's probably a bit softer into the bargain. Your good work, if not rewarded in your bottom line will, nevertheless be rewarded SOMEwhere.
Think twice before stainless straight piping any of your tractors. You cant hear the dangerous frequencies. Your hearing will appreciate it in the years to come.
Need to see more of the 5020. That's when they make good tractors
I always enjoy how you talk to the animals
The soil looks like Grand champion product bedding, feed and in right hands keep up the good work, knowledge is key
Looks great! Any time you can get field work in February is a good thing!
The weather has just been unbelievable this year. Hot and cold but even the cold is still above normal.

The amount of equipment and vehicles you guys have always blows my mind. I feel like you need a shop to work on things
Best tillage video of 2024.
Looks like its working up very well. Crazy isn't it. Your dad must be enjoying this.
ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO KIP 😊
Here where I live in Texas, we have not had any rain since January. We had 6" and that was it. It was dry where those fires happened.
Everyone knew it was looking like things were to proceed this way. I wonder how this 2024 growing season is going to go. The way things are going if there's a reason for crop insurance, this is it.
Happy birthday Lonnie 🎂 .. lolol oj 😂 great video brother 💯✌🏻

Happy Birthday Lonnie
That’s a great dirt lot for the cattle
your videos are great, i have not milked a cow in 20yrs. i wish i could visit you in a couple days, if you can reply it would be nice
Absolutely perfect land!, would be a pleasure to work! And in late February, a huge bonus!!🎯💯👍!!
Great Video
Enjoyed It
Saw the boys out in Nebraska last week
Beautiful dirt wish i has dirt like that. We're sand around me 25 feet deep .
32' disc was really doing a nice job......5020 looks bad to the bone!
Used to have a bronco just like that same color, mine was a ‘89
Lol watching you with the scale brought back memories!!! I use to be able to do the 300 , but how do you see what you can do today when it's digital and it can't decide a number 🤔😃
Awesome
You ought to peel a foot of soil off the cow lot. Big money out there.
Stockpile cover with leftover plastic save it for a second and third covering fertilizer heck maybe your neighbor needs some 😊
2nd and 3rd cutting that is. who knows with the weather cool heads prevail stay safe
Looks real good! How fast is he going with that disk?
My first tractor was a 1968 5020. How fast was your dad pulling that disc?
What would you guys want for the spreader? If you sell it or is it going to a auction?
Turning turf 👍
Have you ever tried Teff grass?
That small tractor has serious engine knock at idle.
Do ya still have the big White tractor ?
I guess they use the term "pasture" loosely in Michigan. I think that's a dirt exercise lot.
Nice looking ground rich in nitrogen with all that manure.
Why not haul that topsoil out onto some clay hills or poorer less productive soil and turn it into more productive ground The cows can make more
You need to plant some grass in there for them

Can you show us how that red bull is doing

That disc is huge.. did a great job ...looks like the cows appreciate your hard work !! ❤🙏
You best calm down there it's gonna get cold again just watch
No wonder that pipe set up with dirt.
Shame you don't have a roller to roll that lot .
Yes,Michigan is in a drought.
I meant to say second and third cutting , who thought of 5 and 6th , unreal , shake your head and adapt weather is unpredictable
See tho I thought it was suns out guts out
