Written by JB Goodenough who passed away from cancer around 1990. Tommy, Gordon Bok and others championed her work. Mainly a poet, she also wrote Apples in the Basket, the Children of Michael, and The Journey's End, which Tommy & Liam made their farewell song at their concerts during the duet years
She also wrote the poem "White Swans and Black", which Tommy recited on the CD I mentioned above as a prelude to his singing his own song "Grey October Clouds".
this could be the most beautiful song I've ever heard...it touches my heart in a very special way. I wish i could find the lyrics to it...amazingly beautiful!
I had been looking for this for YEARS! I was a kid when it was on tv and I happened to be very sick with a high fever. I remember hearing this and the story as I drifted in and out of consciousness. For years I looked for it and thought, maybe, I had dreamt or hallucinated the whole thing! Thanks be to God I finally found it!
So beautiful! Thanks for posting this, Ronnie! (I had a feeling you might!) I've been listening to this day after day in the car. It's wonderful to see it again (my copy of the video is back in Illinois--that was not thinking on my part!) Merry Christmas!
I can't tell everyone how much I loved and miss the music, poetry and recitative of Tommy Makes. He was one of a kind.
Tommy's, along with Liam's recitations were unmatched and this is a perfect example.

Really? Isn't that interesting? That final song you mentioned I have on my Tommy and Liam CD "Two For the Early Dew".

Glory to God in the Highest!

Such a great song. Thanks for posting. Any chance you can post the selection of "Wishes" from the same CD?
