Hey Todd bro at 1:05 in your video you the screen had the APS-C breakdown of the lens and I was unaware that full frame lenses on a APS-C body the F stops are worse. Does this mean APS-C lenses dont have the right Fstops as well?
Hey Shazamm! Technically, the f-stop is the same. It does not change. But since aps-c has a smaller sensor you'd have to move backwards to get the same framing as full frame thus affecting the depth of field. That's why I give those numbers. I'm going to do a FAQ video soon and I'll elaborate on the subject. Hope this makes sense.
Hello, excuse my English, I hope I make myself understood, the tamron 100-400 lens and the canon 70-300 lens are almost at the same price, which one do you recommend I buy?
Hey YICM! 👋 I've never used the Tamron so I can't recommend or compare but here's a comparison for you to look at: versus.com/en/canon-ef-70-300-f4-5-6-is-ii-usm-vs-tamron-100-400mm-f-4-5-6-3-di-vc-usd
Hey J Michael Dixon 👋. Thanks man! No, this lens doesn't. Come to think of it, I've never seen another lens that you can use the zoom adapter with except the 18-135mm Nano. The EF 70-300 IS II USM is a great lens though. Thanks for the comment! 🙏
Hey spirg 👋. Thank you. I've never used this lens in low light. I've caught a couple of shots at sunset but nothing at night. It has decent image stabalization so I would think you could get away with a slower shutter speed if there not too much action in your shot. I mostly use this lens for wildlife photography. It's an excellent lens, especially considering the price. I highly recommend it. 👍
Hey 👋. This is an EF mount lens so you'd need an adapter to use it on an EOS R camera and while I've never used this lens on an mirrorless camera, I would think it would deliver the same, if not better results because of the newer sensor and improved autofocus capabilities of the EOS R cameras. The only negatives I can think of have to deal with the adapter you'd have to use... It adds weight, size and cost. Canon offers a 100-400mm RF lens that would fit your camera and while it's not as bright as this lens, it's zoom range is longer at 400mm. I think you can pick it up for around $600 usd. If that's out of your budget and you already have an adapter then I'd go with this lens. It's a great lens. Hope that answers your questions.
I’ve used this lens on my R6 MK2 with the EF-RF. Works great. Plus it combines with the IBIS. I think this is one of the best bang for buck Canon lenses
Hey Ramu! I've never used this lens for macro or close ups. The minimum focusing distance is roughly 4 feet (1.2 meters) and it doesn't have a 1:1 magnification like a dedicated macro lens. If you're just wanting to play around with macro you could get some extention tubes and a cheap 50mm lens. If you're wanting to do macro seriously, I'd recommend a real macro lens. Canon makes an ef 100mm f2.8 macro lens that I highly recommend. Hope this answers your question and thanks for the comment!
Hey New World 👋. Yes you can but you'll need an EF to RF adapter. I think the Canon one runs around $99. It's called the "Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R".
Hey Maria! 👋 This lens is for the Canon EF and EF-S Mount. I think there are some adapters you could purchase to use it with the Sony e mount but I couldn't recommend, as I've never used them. You could probably search the dpreview.com forums for more info.
Hey Shivakumar! I have not, sorry. Have you tried the forums at dp review? I read a couple of forum post where this lens wasn't compatible with Canon's TC. You could post your question there. Thanks for the comment and good luck!
Hey Sanjeev 👋. I haven't shot with the L version so I couldn't say. I would suspect the L version is made more rugged, with weather sealing etc... This lens is optically great. I have a video called "Water Bird Photography Tips and Tricks" where I use this 70-300 if you want to see more photos. m.th-cam.com/video/F9NFz-kUgc4/w-d-xo.html Sorry I couldn't be more helpful and thanks for the comment. 👍
thanks for the test . Did you had the chance to try it against the 70-300 L cause this one to me is really sharp ( was blown away buy the pics on LR ) and i'm looking to get a telephoto for my 90D ... for 400 € this USM II is very interesting if as sharp as the L ... what's your thoughts ? thanks
Hey Jess! 👋 I've never shot the 70-300 L but I agree with you, this lens is optically excellent! It's a great value. You don't get the weather sealing and metal construction like the L version but that's probably how they kept the cost down. It's my favorite lens for wildlife photography.
I also have canon 90d and planning to buy this lens currently for bird photography and Street photography I am using canon 55 to 250mm usm ,I hope this is going to be good upgrade from my camera I hope I can get a sharp image from this even though I get sharp image even on my 55-250mm
@@raunakdas2841 I went from the 55-250mm to this lens for the reach when shooting birds. It's an excellent lens. Even though your 90d has more pixels than my 80d, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Hey Everest! It depends on what you're shooting. I use this lens for photographing birds with my 80d. My 18-135mm didn't have the reach I needed. The 70-300mm allows me to be further away so the birds don't fly off. It's also sharper than the 18-135. Hope this helps.
Hy Norris ,my final queries to you please. 55-250 stm or 70-300 usm nano, which one is better for 80 D? Which one is sharp?? I am really on confuse which one to buy. I want zoom lens for photography not for videography. Thanks
@@foodandtravel4307 what are you planning on taking pictures of? The 55-250mm stm is my favorite ef-s lens for the Canon 80d. It's cheaper and lighter than the ef 70-300. If you plan on sticking with apsc (canon crop sensor cameras), I'd choose the 55-250 stm. But if you plan on upgrading to a Canon full frame dslr in the future and you shoot wildlife, I'd get the 70-300mm. They're both sharp. The 55-250 is easier to handle and carry. I only use my 70-300 for wildlife. The 55-250 is more of a general purpose zoom. I use it more. The 55-250 will give you more bang for your buck. It's probably one of the best ef-s lenses.
