I personally think Calgary is a great place! It’s gorgeous and not as expensive as Vancouver or Toronto. My husband and I were going to move there this passed summer, but it was too far from either of our family so we decided on Southern Ontario. But our goal once our children are grown is to relocate to Calgary. It’s such a beautiful city!

I just wanted to give you a suggestion on an outing you could do that would make for a very nice video. The weather forecast in Lake Louise is looking pretty good for this Sunday. Or if you're able to go mid week, then Monday and Tuesday are looking even better. I'd highly recommend that you go check out Moraine Lake now before the July crowds come. Try to leave Calgary as early as possible to beat the crowds, plus Moraine Lake looks the best in the early morning light. Take the short walk to the top of the rock pile for the best view. If you haven't seen Lake Louise enough times already, then head there next. Then drive north on the Icefields Parkway. There are two picnic sites that you need to check out. The first one is at Herbert Lake and the next one is along the south shore of Bow Lake (opposite side of the lake from where Num Ti Jah Lodge is located). That Bow Lake picnic area is probably the best spot for a picnic because you get a lake shore view right from the picnic tables. Packing a lunch, or getting takeout pizza at Lake Louise would be a lot more fun than sitting in a restaurant IMO. Finally dive up the road a bit further to Bow Summit. Since you have two small children, park at the top parking lot. No one will bother you as long as you park off to the side and away from any buses that may arrive. From there it's only a 2 minute walk to the Peyto Lake viewing platform. All the lakes will now be thawed out and will look stunning against snowy glaciated mountain backgrounds.

When there was a housing boom in all of Canada starting in 2003 the prices in Calgary and Toronto were close to the same during the entire 11 year long boom but in a few short years the foreign investment sent prices up in Toronto and Vancouver however China did not buy in Calgary. It remains the best prospect for real estate potentially booming because Alberta having comparably low debt and it being an energy giant. It is actually still very expensive in Calgary. Vancouver and Toronto is obscenely expensive. In Calgary most neighborhoods have renovated their $600 thousand dollar homes with new kitchens/bathrooms/bedrooms. The majority of them did this because the real estate tripled in value yet it could even double again to $1.2M as seen in Toronto. It would make sense to grab the best house possible but it is totally nuts compared to when a current $600 thousand dollar house was only $200 thousand fifteen years ago.

Great video thanks!! Love that the girls will be going to French school, I personally think extra languages are always good. I agree that the NW SW are great areas, and as you said the SE has many new areas....near the new South Hospital Campus, and older neighbourhood such as Riverbend and Quarry Park as great too. The newer communities likely have more families... New Brighton, Mahogany and such. Hoping you are settling into your new home!! Cheers!!

Vlog when you can...no apologies. You're a busy young mother and family life is busy.
From Ukraine....super awesome...try a road trip east of Edmonton because it's very steeped in Ukrainian Canadian history. Settlers from the Ukraine settled in areas east of Edmonton, running through Saskatchewan into Manitoba....I live in a city that honors Ukrainian heritage.

@@FirstNameLily Montreal is also a good city for English/French Speakers. I know people that have lived most of their life in Montreal and do not speak a bit of French. Although it is a huge city, too big for my taste. But you made the right choice by going to Calgary. It is the best city in Canada. I currently live in Ottawa, It's a beautiful place, but Calgary has more to offer. Specially for someone like me that likes the mountains and country music :) I will be moving to Calgary as soon as I can.

Hi Lily. Great videos. We’re a family of four and considering on moving to Calgary out of the Netherlands. I have some questions through. One of them is: to your opinion, is Dutch education recognized and appreciated in Calgary? Let’s say if you have an academic masters degree (MSc)? Any idea? Thanks alot.

I have soooo many questions, but as for now i will only make two:
    1. Since you got PR via the express entry i believe you have a job, where do you leave your children? Is daycare expensive?
    2. I still cant decide what area is best. Im looking for something similar to the USA suburbs. Nice and quite, close to downtown but not too close to make it too expensive for a low profile family of 4, close to good primary schools. What do you recommend?
Thank you so much for your response, you are a sweety 😳 ❤ 💋
