I have the same switch, its loud, but you can quiet it down for like $15. I changed the fans in mine because my switch was 100% the loudest thing in my rack. Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM
They are alternative home-lab virtualization hypervisors such as Proxmox, you can create containers, VM and clusters for your servers. Am also trying to get quite switches and less power hungry but with outmost performance.
I've been rocking a Dell R510 for a few years now as a file server with Windows Server 2016 essentials and recently set up a small Docker stack on it. Only a single low power 6 core Xeon but it runs cool and quiet. I'll probably keep it around as a backup file server once I get my NetApp disk shelf and TrueNAS up and running. But that's a LOT of drives to purchase. Filling this R510 with 12x4tb drives 2 years ago was a little pricey and now it's almost full, lol.
I have a r210 that I used as a pfsense box for just a few months and have been wanting to move it out of the rack. Not sure if you can PM on here but would be willing to let it go.
Also, If you would be interested in an Xserve 2009 8-core, let me know! Major changes soon!
100% looking to get a 2009 Xserve for myself :) but uk very few about. Well done on the content keep them coming.
Can you please list hardware in your rack since its useful to refer to.
Are you able to get them to the UK?
Retr0 Games yes you can on eBay but there’s not allot on there sadly 😁
I would be interested, if you have a discord we could talk?
Hope you feel better soon, love the video!
