Looks like a lot of work when compared to open molding, if polyester or vinylester is used. Measurements on open molded and vacuum infused major structures (hovercraft hull) showed essentially no weight advantage for vacuum infused over open molding, and open molding can be far less messy and expensive. Possibly the infusion may look slicker, but the vacuum may drive resin into the (closed cell) foam.
