Nice one. Almost thought we’ve lost you with Tonverk discussions ;-)

haha no way :) I'm not letting go of the rytm ever! while I appreciate the new possibilities presented with the Tonverk I don't think anything can replace the rytm magic :)this piece is actually my submission to the Disquiet Junto Project dedicated to the Clicks + Cuts album

@@asinenoise ;-) Will def check the Junto project. Yep Rytm is a gem and keeper. Just so creative. Your staging of instruments is superb, keeping the low end yet crisp clicks and hihats … great work. Tonverk, well looks more of a plug in controller. Wait till we see Max / Native Instruments plugins on it ;-)

thanks! there's no hihats here, just the noise machine ;) gain staging is #1 priority, it is make or break feature, and without any visual aids for levels/compressor gain reduction it takes some time to get it, but totally makes the device sing! don't know about the tonverk, I assume no way it's a controller with sd card slot and audio buses, but who knows :)

@@asinenoise Yep, we shall see. But I do think downloadable content/subscription will be the shift if to maintain the company afloat. Moving assembly/production to China from EU- if we can read this from the leaked info - is already a sign of expense cut. … Autumn is good time for speculations. But it wont affect what current lineup can do ;-)

Out of sheer curiosity - is this 100% AR2 or is there some post processing, additional effects etc. going on. Sounds fantastic.

hey, thanks! this is stereo recording from the rytm main outs, everything is coming from inside the box, no additional fx, only the ones available in the rytm. it is post-processed to normalize the recording but my normalization process rather on the simple side, I aim to maximize the level without altering the recording too much, usually some eq, compression and bit of mid side processing, nothing is giving or taking more then 1-2db, usually even less. the purpose of the chain is mostly to make the recording sound translatable, in general my goal is: if I turn off the master chain leaving only the limiter - the difference should be negligible.

@@asinenoise Thanks for the elaborate answer. I was tricked into thinking that there are several separate delay / reverb lines with different timings going but AFAIK the AR only has one of each. Great stuff.

thanks! there are lots of ways to simulate delays besides the built in one in the fx section, you can set up trigs in a way that sounds like a delay with each trig plocked volume/pan, with retrigs and velocity mods or the way I use a lot is split a track into two/three tracks, each panned separately and trigs shifted to whatever delay measure I want, in this track I think there are two tracks running the same sounds but with 4 trigs shift, the benefit of this method is you can setup Performance Macros to do separate things on each track making it extra special when playing. rytm is very capable device even though it seems limited on paper, a lot can be done with it :)
