I know you pointed out these facts in the description for every weapon, but having it all summed up in a very last statement is kind of nice to have and just a matter of nice form when it comes to a video essay :) Keep up the good work, I really dig your content!

I played the game back in its open beta or something for a few days and stopped because my system couldn’t run it very well. I’ve since completely forgotten about it. But now after hearing it being mentioned again I think I feel I should give it another try

You see I'm a basic sword user and I have started the game not long ago, I overall like the sword because it balances movement speed and damage overall and it is pretty awesome at cutting parts. The axe I don't like much because of the dps (damage per second), it might be strong but I don't like slow weapons although it's ideal and as said in the video Great for cutting parts. For chainblades they have a overall great dps not to mention their movement speed, they focus on both on mid to close range combat and I don't use them really but I prefer them over an axe. The hammer does great blunt damage and is Great to knocking out behemoths but it falls in the same place as the axe. The difference is the axe cuts parts easier while the hammer doesn't really and with the hammer you can shoot whist you can't with the axe. The repeaters are great and are my second most used weapon apart from the sword. It's great for mobility it doesn't do a lot of damage but it has a pretty good dps (not as good as the chainblades) but overall a great weapon if don't want to come in to much on contact with the creature (although it's doesn't cut parts like the hammer). Now for the strikers I hate them all. Its quick but no to much and it doesn't do that much damage and the combos are awful. (Just in case this is my opinion and I'm a repeater/sword user and I recommend the sword more and this is all for personal experience and should try out any weapon that you want) Jesus that is a lot that I wrote

I really like chain blades-I used to main them for a while but occasionally switched to the sword, but I ended up just switching for convince lol. Anyway, why have you stopped posting videos? I was looking through your channel and saw that you haven't uploaded any videos in a while. Just curious.
The part/wound dmg isnt really accurate, and it can be really confusing for new players. Hitting wounded part, or severables with slashing weapon, increase only the part dmg, not the core.

Returned after two years after having played for a mere week. My main complaint is still the simplistic combat (too much of a monster hunter purist, so that's on me). Me and my war pike is all spin to win. I enjoy the game for the most part, I'm just craving a deeper combat system, and more complication to the behemoths. So, I'll own my ignorance as I haven't done hard mode yet, but I doubt it's anything more than higher health pools and higher damage. Not a complete change to gameplay. Edit: just an added point, I've used every weapon but the fist weapons since they weren't there when I first played, so I'm familiar with them, and preferred the Pike
This reminds me of SAO:HR in the dmg things. There are often 'parts' that you have to beat first in bosses. However duel swords and some of it's skills make all of that insta kill (most of the time) which is kinda sad. Glad another game does that right (without almost insta kill) cuz I loved that feature

I get the sword is for beginners but I wish it had some more interesting features for players who like swords but are past beginner level to keep it interesting, every other melee type has something the axe can be charged(the sword in monster hunter did this) and thrown the hammer gets all the stuff around its gun moves, I could list something for every weapon but the sword is just so basic
The sword has phenomenal combos you can chain together and do I need to say more.. "Spin to win" you can easily stagger, part break, and core dmg the entire body in seconds, as well as the dash if they get distance. It's all about the +6s
None is best. It's all about your +6 cell set ups, gameplay skill and desire. I use every weapon with positive outcomes. Focus cell and armor synergies.
The warpike needs to be fixed tho like the mods are not that good and you have to be skilled and how come a sword thats a size of a spear has more mobility than the spear
When I played back when it first came out on Xbox I wanted to main and play with the chain blades so badly because they reminded me of the chaos blades from god of war lmfao. I thought they were so fun and badass

Hammer was always meta before. Axe just looks cool. The stuns and combos were unmatched
