As a 48 year old person learning music theory and how to properly play instruments, I have to tell you that your TH-cam tutorials have helped me more than any other single source of information. And now, as I encounter a new lesson or chapter in my theory books, I don't feel like I can absorb them until I go check to see "How does Gracie explain this?" first. THANK YOU for taking the time to share your knowledge of music and for breaking everything down into digestible, really understandable terms, even for my middle aged brain. :)
@@GracieTerzian Hello Ms Gracie, Not rushing for "Part 2" but is it possible to Demo on the Keyboard in conjunction w/Ear training? I need those "baby-steps".
I'm proud of you for learning music theory! It always intimidated me; but I have been seriously studying and watch Gracie's wonderful videos. She is a wonderful teacher. The best circle of fifth's explanation I have ever seen. 🎶
Thank you Ms Gracie, and no apologies needed. Your methods of teaching are so accessible. Starting with chords you are helping us to "ear train", and your idea of singing the intervals is also teaching us to recognize, to hear, intervals. Combining your theory with teaching our ears is so very helpful. Thanks so much.
It would be very interesting if you could add a small shortcut, associating chords and their inversions with memorable songs. I think that would be very helpful for identifying them more quickly. When you played the first inversion of a minor chord, 'Still D.R.E.' resonated in my head. Thank you!
Hey Gracie ! This was soooo much fun !! xD But crazy too ... in first part, I got 5 wrong. :S Don't want to talk about the rest ... lol Those half-step changes are tricky. This is so challenging !! Thanks for posting this. :))
Hi Gracie, I totally agree with JR comments below. Any chance you can also do this on the piano keys? I’m such a visual person and it would be helpful if you would include some of these ear training lessons on the piano, too. Thank you so much for all you do!
Just when I thought I was doing so well, too. I'm absolutely hopeless at this, Gracie. It bothers me that I don't have a good ear for music. Major for minor & minor for Major... damn! Anyway, I shall persevere.
Gracie, I have a ton of music with melody and chords marked above the treble staff. Have you ever done a video on how to arrange these for piano, so they sound decent? Would you??
So I met this girl on the beach today up here in Massachusetts. And she looked very much like you. Same hair color...same voice, different hair style, very chill personality. I struck up a conv. And I couldn't think of your name. Maybe your evil twin.. with a few tats. I hope she finds your videos and enjoys your music.
I love your videos. I knew a little and now I know a lot more thanks to you. Do you know this guy David Bennett? He's pretty good too. I highly recommend him for piano players.
It may seem fast, Gracie has a short amount of time. We learn @ different paces from one another. Best thing is "replay". Akin 2 a ; "1 on 1" tutorial.
Second time listening to this, and yes I'm shocked that I'm getting it wrong. I agree with Robert Akerman that it would be a good idea to post this with a piano demonstration.
When I play the first inversion of a minor chord, 'Still D.R.E.' resonates in my head. I thought it only happened to me, but I see it happens to you too, haha. Do you know any other memorable songs for major chords?
R.I.P. and may God bless the victims of the Armenian Genocide. It's unfortunate that discussing who is responsible for the genocide will get you labeled "AnTiSeMiTiC"

Aww thank you for writing such a nice comment! This makes me so happy to hear!! Thank you!!!

I must agree to that. Gracie you're the best 💙

Thank you so much Josh! I’m so glad you liked the video :)
You are a great teacher Gracie.
Thank you Lori!
Best ear training
Thank you for the clarification of the differences in 1st and 2nd inversions and the relational position of the remaining two notes of the triad! 👍🏾👍🏼
My pleasure! Glad you liked it :)
Thanks Gracie for your excellent teaching style. I’ve learned so much for you in the past few weeks.
I love getting to retake a test! These are great videos, thank you so much.
Hahaha thank you!!
The best teacher.

You are so sweet, and the sound of ukelele so cool ,that i think everybody gonna learn to recognise chords by ear.Thank you!!
Great and very useful, thank you
Thank you!
I learned so much effortlessly. Very helpful.
Great video Gracie! I missed a few. Especially that last round! The beach sounds much better to me 👍🏼 Feel Better!
It’s totally normal to miss a bunch! Pretty much everybody does. Just keep practicing and you’ll begin to get them all right :)
Hi Gracie, love this video! Can you please make a video on tips/advices for performing on stages please? Thank you so much1
Thanks you for lessons ear training. I thought this is so important for

7:32... NOOOO.. My perfect record of getting every chord right has been tarnished 😞. I can't believe I felt for the trick even after you explained it.

Thanks for making these videos, they are really informative. I hope one day to be knowledgeable about music theory and develop relative pitch.
I’m glad you liked it! Thank you ❤️
Great video, thanks!
can you do a video about time signature?
Also, if I don't see the "staff sheet music" - I can get the #1 beat in the wrong place.

It really doesn’t mean you don’t have a musical ear! It’s just a very specific training. I used to get all of these wrong too.
Spectacular!
Merci for this.
You are welcome!
Lovely tutorial, thank you.
Thank you!
Heyyy Gracie!!! This is a great video. I thought it would be easier, but I missed quite a few of them, oops. Still I will try them again! 😊
Hahaha it’s okay! I used to get these wrong too! After some practice you will start to get them all right :)
Heyyy Gracie!!!! I will keep practicing them. Thank you for the encouragement! 😊
Enjoy your channel!!! Keep up the good work!!! Cheers!!!😁📀
Thank you so much Douglas!

So minor chords can actually sound happy when chords are inverted.

I do not, but I will check him out! Thank you for the recommendation!
Great 👏👏👏👏👏
Can you upload videos about chord inversion?
Wow, I am absolutely shocking as soon as the inversions are added in 😩I can tell that it’s major or minor but that’s it
True. That's what She was saying. Keep w/it ---eventually We all can enjoy confidence.
Love and appreciate your lessons Gracie, although I thought you went through this lesson a little fast for me.
It may seem fast, Gracie has a short amount of time. We learn @ different paces from one another. Best thing is "replay". Akin 2 a ; "1 on 1" tutorial.
We can always either (1) repeat the lesson or parts of it, or (2) slow down the play speed on YT. I always do both.
Thank you. Yes you did get me. Still not confused. It takes a good bit of attention. It's supposed to be a serious blunder too. 🙃
:) :) :)
Way gran lección, quiero clases privadas!. Saludos gracie!.

pro tip for minor chord inversions
if you hear Still DRE its minor first inversion
if you hear Smalltown Boy its minor second inversion
When I play the first inversion of a minor chord, 'Still D.R.E.' resonates in my head. I thought it only happened to me, but I see it happens to you too, haha. Do you know any other memorable songs for major chords?
What make hollow guitar is on the wall?
Major uplifts ~ Minor drops
Thank you, Gracie, How are you, 😇
How do you transpose music?
I feel like I'm cheating because I just ask myself if it sounds sad or happy
Hahaha whatever works for you! :)
Use Sun Butter plz😊
You're strange

Imagine. A gifted music theory guru using a silly little uke to demonstrate. And yet it works.
Friendly suggestion Your video are not to long.... Some people like your longer videos.. Nice.. Peace
Very "charming". To pass a test on the 2nd half of vid=EZ. Whatever I thought it was---claim the opposite. I'm really doing well(not so much).
