    I would put the hat on a longer circular and try it on when you think it might be long enough. That way you can see how much it pulls up and know how much more to knit

    I have a suggestion for the itchy cowl if you really want to try to make it wearable! I would suggest adding a fabric lining. You can get a cozy fabric like fleece or maybe a jersey knit that has all way stretch and hand stitch it to the edges of the cowl. This would probably take 1-2 hours (maybe slightly more if you have zero sewing experience) but it would make the cowl way more comfy!

    For any knitting beginners - just do the MKAL. I was a beginner last and ENJOYED the MKAL and found it easy to follow along. Stephen makes it so easy.

    “I am going to make me and Kent hats” is grammatically correct. “Hats” would be the direct object of the verb and “me and Kent” are the indirect objects. Therefore, you would use the objective form of the pronoun (me) instead of the subjective form (I).
    😊

      Sooo.... "Kent and I are going to Sheep and Wool"

    • @thatcrochetchick369
      @thatcrochetchick369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MySweetT1 Yes, that would also be grammatically correct.

    • @annee4193
      @annee4193 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this example it would be "I am going to make myself a hat" so when adding Kent it becomes "I am going to make myself and Kent hats." or "I am going to make hats for myself and Kent."

    Im currently knitting my shirt on two different needle sizes, it is doable in the round too! The pattern is using 4 mm needles but I lost one of them to my grandparents terrace (fell between the floorboards), so I have the 4 mm on my right hand side (knitting side) and then a 3,5 mm in my left hand. So far theres no problem and its not visible in my tension, yay!

    Hey, Nat…easy fix to your grammar question. Whenever you’re mentioning one or more people and also yourself, always put yourself last. So, it would be for Kent and me. Love your podcast. Cheers…nycSox

    Yes, when you first mentioned the cowl being itchy before I thought it might have been due to the guard hairs. I had heard the same that it’s generally stripped of guard hairs and therefore more comfortable.

    Too funny. I'm the opposite on slock making. I cast on 2 at a time and knit the toes. Then I transfer them to 9" needles. For lace/highly patterned socks, I keep them 2 at a time so that I make sure the socks match.

    I see this thumbnail and the amazing purple colour combo and my mind is blown! So so so jealous! My dream is to be able to make colourwork jumpers but my fight with finding my sizing goes on, have you ever seen a pattern where the front and back stitches of the body arent the same? I keep getting fabric bunching on my back :/

    • @MySweetT1
      @MySweetT1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet you could measure your front and back separately to double each of the numbers to find your stitch count... The arms might be trickier but depending on if it is yoked or bottom up would determine how you would split for the sleeves.

    I’ve !ways been told that a purl stitch takes a bit more yarn than a knit stitch. If that is true, then 50% of your hat is made up of purls! Your inner liner might not take as much yarn as the outer.
    I’m looking forward to the end result.

    Thank you, Nathalie, for a wonderful episod!
    If you knit half a green ribbed hat and another half verigated hat in stockinett, to the same length, you can than put one inside the other and try them on togather. Also turn them inside out, to fully know how the ribbed fabric stretches, and adjust the length as desired.
    Also, as you have less green, it ought to be used for the stockinett portion of the hat. That way you use up more of the verigated yarn, in comparison to the green, but have the same length of fabric.
    Looking forward to see the finished result! Good luck! Malin
