Meph's buff eater can't fail so there is no RNG. it also eats 3 buffs not just 1 and lasts FOREVER. meaning if the boss takes a few turns to buff 3 times he can cast it again the second it's gone. And the Lunar Mystic Code isn't very good and having to give up the Mystic Code slot for something like that is a HUGE deal. For example my whole plan in this video would not work if I switched Mystic Codes. Mephis is indeed a very useful unit that's super under valued.

This video for fgo jp there's many options to win. For fgo en, i don't know. So if i use scathach NP, goetia will paralyze for 1 turn. In 2nd turn he still use his NP and can pierce invincibility, so with merlin skill for all character get invincibility for 1 turn will be useless?
There's also the Lunar Memories Mystic Code, but admittedly that's a monkey's paw since you'd need to be running an Arts meme team to make that cost effective.

The bonus bit? Meph's third skill prevents the target from buffing. Combined with David's wide-area Evade, suddenly Goetia can't actually hit with his NP, since Pierce Invuln doesn't proc.
