    Awesome speaker. He spoke very clearly and addressed complex issues brilliantly and with much passion.

    In almost every video posted by the Veritas Forum, there are audio issues. In some way shape or form! I love listening and watching them, however, some really good content is lost or distorted by an audio problem. Higher someone please! Thank you Veritas for all that you do!

      Hire*
      Also, it's worth pointing out that in addition to audio issues, it would be nice to SEE the presentation, rather than a washed out square that he's standing in front of.

    Comparing thor and Jesus is like comparing GW Bush and Einstein. There's no comparison. A religion has to be based on some logical foundations. Thor with his magic hammer is a fun character who belongs in comic books. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Biblical prophecies of the Old Testament.

    Barst is a character in the final book of a mediocre series call "The Inheritance Cycle"
    He's the most over-powered character in the novel who slaughters hundreds of elves/humans without getting hurt in any way. Because he was the only memorable character in the series his name has been immortalized as a word that describes someone of unbelievable greatness.

    how is he blinded by religious prejudices? he's a mathematician and has never used 'god' as a solution to his mathematical/scientific questions.
    1) "I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details." Einstein
    2) "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." Einstein.

    So he isn't allowed to use reason and knowledge because he possesses a different world view than materialism?
    I find it so sad that more and more (mostly the new-atheists) commit the fallacy that your science is irrelevant because you apply another world view. Could it not be that we are all looking at the same picture, only from different angles? - or are people simply stupid (despite their range of IQ) because they do not see things the way you do? :)

    Raj, you have a piece to a puzzle, and he has a piece to a puzzle. You are holding yours in the dark, You know you have a piece in your hand, but you dont know which piece, where to place it or how big the puzzle is. He is also apiece, only he has the light on and has a vantage point that you don;t

    Is it possible to find a way to reconcile all these different disciplines? Truth, where ever it is found, should not, as i undesrtand it, contradict truth found everywhere else. The contradiction arises out of our own limitations. The enlightenment was limited in what it could see. So, all we ever get is approximate truth. Perhaps the best path we can take is to recognize that "the Truth" is not a concept but a person. Christ said," I am the way , the truth and the life."

    The finite came from the infinite. whatever is of finite substance has an infinite substance. The finite is inside time, the infinite is outside of time. God is infinite, the Universe is finite. Whatever is Designed has a Designer; Design is inside time, the Designer is outside of time. Whatever is Designed have both material and immaterial attributes, because God(Designer) is immaterial.

  • @andrewwells6323
    @andrewwells6323 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's methodological Naturalism, not Materialism. I just explained why it’s not materialistic, when we apply it to the De Sitter space the most fundamental layer is not matter. Sting theory and Loop-Quantum Gravity are NOT inherently materialistic, again you don’t know what you’re talking about, and as I explained it’s just the opposite.

  • @andrewwells6323
    @andrewwells6323 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well you obviously don't know what you're talking about, science doesn't use materialism as it's basis the holographic principle is one example of that, (so is digital physics) when we apply the HP to the De Sitter the most fundamental layer is no longer matter. And there is evidence, it’s an emerging idea almost all QG theories, such as String theory, Loop-Quantum Gravity, etc. It’s also now the accepted solution to the Black hole information paradox; in fact it’s the only solution.

    Regardless of which view of the world you hold, we all exist in the same one. It is silly to believe in a universe that came into being that we are the pinnacle form of intelligence and therefore the arbiter of what is true. What is, Is.

    Einstein was adamantly clear in stating that he didn't believe in a personal God. You have to realize what he means when he says that...

  • @andrewwells6323
    @andrewwells6323 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not going to sit here and repeat myself. “This Black hole entropy is given by a very simple formula I discovered in 1974 it equals the area of the horizon of a black hole...... It also suggests that Quantum Gravity may exhibit holography” - The Universe is a nut shell, P63-4 Steven Hawking
    I also linked a video to the comment you 1st responded.
    “Pure De Sitter spaces are of no interest to cosmology”
    Yeah, you really don’t understand cosmology!

  • @WMsReligion

    @originaljonesdotinfo what he's suggesting: Enlightenment science writes the rules, then disallows those ideas that don't fit the rulebook by declaring them not just un-Scientific but also not true knowledge.i.e. Dogmatic. ... also multi-verses are pure fiction ... beautiful fiction ... but fiction nonetheless.

  • @Hitchpster
    @Hitchpster 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AntiFascist2011: It depends what do you understand for materialism. Reason and knowledge cannot put in a test tube, of course not, they are abstract concepts, HUMAN concepts, you cannot put stupidity in a test tube either, and?

    So what? your statement is completely subjective anyway.. that's the ironic thing. You should understand that neither Satyan nor Einstein used God as proof of any scientific and mathemathical answers. Stop putting words in their mouth. They're just saying this amazing design that we see in the universe and in life indicates a supernatural being. They never said a supernatural being can be scientifically prooved.

    So?:) Do you know that citing someone as a proof is fallacy by itself? It's called "Fallacy: Appeal to Authority". You are probably clever person so I can only suggest you to read something about "Scientific method" and why science and (any) god, at the end, don't mix together. This is YT though, so anything goes here... Peace

    Galileo was religious himself genius! His is the ONLY case were the Pope screwed up. Apart from that one case (even there religion was just a little less than perfect!) religion supported science.
    Religion created humanity, no religion = no humanity.

    A sad thing. A funny (looks clever) guy, but blinded by his religious prejudices.
    If anything can show the path to any solution, if it exists in this universe at all - are knowledge and reason, not any god.
    Moreover, I noticed that many are mixing technological level of some society with its cultural level. Those are two different things.
