I used to do hull scrubs for a living, admittedly using scuba. One tool I had was a suction cup fitted to a short length of dowel.with a stainless hose clamp. It held me to the boat, even with a strong tide running. Made life a lot easier

Hi. Is there any reason that you can not paint the leg with the same paint that you used on the prop? It worked really well on the prop and therefore would cut the maintenance for the leg. I.e. less cleaning and having to don a wetsuit in cold water?
The only reason is cost, the kit to do the prop was almost $300 and there wasn't too much left after doing the prop. The large kit to do the whole lot is around $600. I will probably consider it when I do the repower and put the new leg on.
I would have thought the anti foul on the leg would have been better, can I suggest you consider a trying a different anti foul for the leg next slipping. I get great results out of Pettit Vivid for aluminum, actually better results than the fiberglass anti foul.

Call me crazy but I would have tied the tinny so I could sit in it to clean the leg. Harper's Kiarra for the new channel, keeps a tie between the two with the first and identifies the boating aspect.
I have done that before but you can't get all the way to the bottom of the leg and I was already wet and cold so just jumped back in. I will plan it better next time and take the scuba gear to dive properly

I know it only seems like a couple of months on your upload time line, but that could be a couple of months or years as far as we know. How long has she been back in, that leg has a ton of growth, I've seen neglected boats with that kind of growth.
Hey mate, it was out of the water in February this year. Completely cleaned and antifouling on the hull and the leg. I'm not very good at getting ahead with videos so if you see an upload it's a good chance it's only a week or so behind.

Saving Kiara. Whatever antifouling you used on the leg, was shit. You should name and shame them. Also if you throw a loop around your waist you don't have to exert so much energy holding on It makes it easier to clean the boat. I use suction cups, tie a line between the handles, start at the bow and let the current sweep me back.
It was the International paints antifouling specifically made for alloy legs. I'm not very impressed with it to say the least. It was bloody expensive but I think next time I will prop speed the whole leg.
Have you ever considered joining a synchronized swimming team for frustrated boat owners as you certainly got the moves.there are pros and cons on the second channel idea, if you fell you can cope with extra time taken on a second channel then yes go for it but it could end up being a mill stone around your neck trying to please everyone with content. It's much harder to completely rebrand and rename a channel then it is to create a new one the way I want from scratch. Hopefully with everyones help we can make it right from the start.

I do tend to agree now, much better for future channel growth and allows for new/multiple boats at a time.
