      Ya man you can get foreign jump wings. I was 82nd. Basically they invite jump masters from other countries to head a jump for us and we get awarded the wings from those countries. A bunch of my buddies got German and Egypt foreign jump wings when I was in. I always skipped those jumps for no good reason.

      Ok mate I'm sorry but I must rebuke you on one little detail that made my eye twitch a bit.... Both my mother and I love true crime documentaries, psychological thrillers, and old school traditional detective stories (none of that rewritten or new age knockoff garbage) In fact every year for Christmas me and my dear old mum break out the VHS and old school box TV complete with it sitting on an old worn dinning room chair and pillow for the sake of nostalgia and spend all day watching old true crime documentaries and black and white thriller movies while basking in my fathers moping and cringing it's become a fond family tradition at this point. But let me clarify that this is NOT out of any love for serial killers and narcissistic nut jobs. for me and my mum at least it's how interesting it is learning how the detectives went about their investigations, the psychological aspect that comes with trying to understand how or why these people do what they do, and the thrill of wondering if they will catch someone who is a clear cut "bad guy". It's not for everyone and I can respect and acknowledge that but just because not everyone gets the appeal of our hobby doesn't mean we're all creeps... just realized I went on a bit of a tangent there...sorry about that...

    If the “Jack” guy did even a 10th of what he claimed he would’ve been considered a hero and probably a well decorated one at that. As a military man myself I can tell you that single handedly holding of 14-15 ppl from one position while others escape to safety or evacuation would almost definitely rate a silver/bronze star. AND if injured he would have gotten Purple Heart and possible MOH consideration. I don’t think he rates that I just say these things so that people in here who aren’t military or don’t understand some of the military going ons will have some idea how bogus this guy was. If he was a 10th if the man he claimed he wouldn’t be looking for someone to make a movie about him, there would be people beating his door down to do it. I absolutely despise people who embellish military achievements and he deserves every punishment he gets levied at him.

      Embellishing military achievements is bad. But illegally 'arresting' civilians with no authority, dragging them off buses and breaking into their homes to point guns at them, for no reason, with no jurisdiction, no probable cause, essentially just because they are foreign, even though your are in their country then imprisoning and torturing them is quite a lot worse.

      Not to mention him kidnapping her after that, then imprisoning her, torturing her, raping her, and planning to kill ger (she also alleges that he screamed that he was going to kill her WHILE he was raping her). Self-defense doesn't cover that AT ALL. The rape by Jack during her capture by him also gave her another STD, his penis had Herpes and he passed it on to her. I don't hate Carole Baskins for Joe Exotics reasons, i hate her and every person like her and Joe Exotic for trying to create a monopoly of living creatures where only they could control the situation. Now that she's the only place in America besides zoos that can have big cats, and personally seeing her sanctuary, it just makes it even more sad, really wish the tiger king documenters touched on that more than the lunacy.

    We *have* actually fully cured some people from HIV/AIDS now, not just undetectable, and the number is increasing. We're not all the way there yet in terms of being able to fully cure anyone who has the disease, but our progress in treating the disease has come a very long way, to the point where most treated people are fully cleared to have intimate relations with others with zero chance of transmission

    Yeah, back during the war there were a lot of people like this Jack dude lol. I remember flying into Saddam International to meet up with my unit in Baghdad, and there was a guy on our flight that said he was injured by getting hit in the head with a mortar, figure that one out lol. Anyway, he had on a pair of sterile DCU's, and once we landed in the bombed out VIP center, the dude just went walking off into the city lmao! We never saw the guy again. We don't know if he was supposed to be there, what unit he said he was linking up with, he just got onto our flight into Iraq, got off the plane, and that was that lol. So, weird glory hounds all over the place lol. Even IN the military there were people who got all suspicious, and conspiracy driven lol. It was wild. I'm glad all that shit is over with.

      @buttery snail in 2003 it was crazy. We had a safe filled with civilian firearms people in the unit tried to bring with them to use during the war 😆. Hand to God, of course my unit was from. FT. BENNING GA. I was with 3ID 3BCT, a lot of rednecks, and conservatives in there lol. They heard about those bounties, and wanted in!! We used to get modified playing cards with the top terrorists of the region we were in. They did that all the way up to my last deployment in 2005 at least. One soldier actually spotted a $25k bounty at a pop up check point. I don't know if he actually got the $25k or not, but he found one of our face cards by chance lol.

      @@alderoth01 Damn, lucky for that guy lol. I've heard about those playing cards from my dad and a couple other veterans in the area. My friend's dad actually still has a few in his house along with a few other collectibles from when he was deployed. I decided to ask my dad if he'd seen any of those mercenaries or volunteers, and he said there were tons all around Mosul when he was there. This was around the late 2000s, by then he said it was really common to see them doing military drills and such with all kinds of gear they'd scavenged in the field
      thanks for sharing btw, I find this stuff really interesting lol :)

      @alderoth01 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@butterysnail2537 Oh yeah, it's going to be interesting as the years go on, and more information comes out about different contracting companies, weapon manufacturers, and governments involvement comes to light. The amount of people I served with that had no idea that Saddam was put in power by our own government was astounding while I was in lol. I just did what I could to get to my ETS date so I could get out of it all. My back was injured by this time anyway, so I was a ticking time bomb. In 2007 my back finally blew out, and I was released from service because I was of no use to them as an Infantryman anymore. They didn't offer to reclass me, or retrain me, even though I was doing well giving IED classes for deploying soldier's at the time, they said it would cost too much money. I got out in 09 officially, then that year I had knee surgery, and in 2018 I had 2 titanium rods put into my lower back, last October they found cycsts in my spine as well as my chest, so if I had stayed in it would've cost the military a lot to take care of all that stuff. Now it's on the VA lol.

      Considering at the time the US developed Davy Crockett nukes that could realistically just lose their propellant properties and fit into a backpack. Leads me to think Russian Backpack nukes may have existed and were being smuggled out by the KGB as part of an operation to test detectabilility or used in actual espionage activity

      @@Siggrim If you wanted anymore than a half of a mile of damage, than you'd be lugging around the 160 lb version of the Davy Crockett (the lightest version being the 56-ish lb), not exactly easy to conceal, and even then, that's still only 2.5 miles of damage. Forget the fact that you also have to carry the obvious mortar-esque gun pieces as well. Which sucks, obviously, but at most you're just poking a bear with a stick. Anyone that would use it would obviously die in the act. Anyone that chose to go through with that useless bullshit kinda deserved to kick the bucket tbh. They weren't exactly going to pass on any genes that factor into intelligence, unless it was a recessive gene. And ultimately, all it would ever do is piss off the country you had someone else release it on.
      Tldr; drop a handful of actual warheads on someone if you intend on breaking the M.A.D. Act, just to be sure you fucked them up. Otherwise just sit down and shut up.

    The guys in chat and in these comments saying Penny was just as guilty or deserved what she got are sick freaks. Penny is a badass for having the courage to go in there and get her animals back, knowing the risks. It’s a miracle she lived to describe what he did to her.
    After everything he’d done to her, how much damage and pain he’d inflicted on her, and how much of a risk he posed to other people… *ANYONE* in her position would have wanted him dead. _He knowingly gave her HIV ffs._ There is no doubt in my mind that he would have murdered her if help hadn’t arrived in time, yet so many deranged creeps think that what he did is somehow justified. It’s unbelievable.
    What if he’d raped _you_ and given _you_ AIDS? What if he’d taken your animals from you? Tortured you? Beat you half to death and held you captive?
    You’d just be cool with that? Would you think _you_ deserved that? I doubt it.

    The US government is famous for not paying the bounties tho, I mean people that gave intel about whereabouts on people that are on the most wanted list is still waiting for their check even tho they clearly state that information leading to their capture will pay this amount. Makes the whole thing not worth it because depending on who you rat out you end up with a target on your back for no reward.
