- The EuroCham Sustainability Awards 2024, a wonderful evening of sustainability and innovation recognition, unfolded at the Grand Hyatt Singapore on November 5, 2024.
The ceremony brought together distinguished guests including Mr Errol Levy, Deputy Head of Mission of the European Union to Singapore, and Mr Jens Ruebbert, President of the European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore. Deputy Prime Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat was the Guest of Honour at the event.
This special evening also marked the launch of the 3rd edition of the Sustainovation Whitebook 2024-2025-a key resource that maps sustainable practices and future strategies aligned with the EU Green Deal and Singapore’s Green Plan 2030.
A panel of sustainability experts evaluated 29 nominations in categories aligning with the strategic goals of both the European Union (EU) Commission's European Green Deal and Singapore's Green Plan 2030. The winners in each category were:
Sustainovation Energy Efficiency - Safran Group
Sustainovation Value Chain - FrieslandCampina AMEA
Sustainovation Technology - Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific
Sustainovation Transportation - Lufthansa Group
Financing for Impact - Standard Chartered Bank
A special shout-out went to Venturebeam Markets for the inaugural SME Rising Star award.
Alongside the presentation of awards, EuroCham Singapore, Co-Axis and the Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (CIIP) sealed their commitment to deepening collaboration in the areas of sustainability, conservation and sustainable finance by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
In attendance, at this event, were also Ambassadors of EU Member States, representatives from various European Embassies and National Business Groups that represented the following countries - Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spanish, Sweden, and Switzerland. Other countries from the Eastern European Union were represented by the presence of the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore.
