Two of the great ones. Gator gone...great guy. Talked to my wife and I between shows at Blues Alley in Wash DC for half hour (hablamos Espanol). President Clinton was a big fan of Gato 2nd time he was in DC he had a heart attack. Doctor at Geo Wash U Hospital asked us " Who is this guy. President Clinton just called here asking about him. I know my wife (Latina) really loved him (or wanted to). Saw Carlos at Woodstock (15 yr old-young and dumb and on drugs) and years later at Merriwether Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD ( artificial community for a more than real person). Never met Carlos though.
Worth noting that they’re playing it in C minor here and the original Gato recording is in G minor…that’s probably why Gato can’t seem to figure out the melody.
