Hi gents, just to say your ability to explain and demonstrate everything to do with fishing is exceptional!! You are both the future of fishing, I feel confident with the future in your capable hands. By the way I’m a crusty old 57 year old!! Respect to you both 👍👍
Brilliant short and informative video, ive recently moved from fly fishing into carp fishing and i have course fished for a very long time..very interested in the different types of rigs and how they work..excellent work your dialogue was exact and straight to the point..your a credit to your sport and the best of luck tight lines..G
I’m a crusty 64 yr old with terminal cancer , when I get depressed I just love watching all there videos, I just want to make it too the warmer weather,so I can go out with my Richard Walker rods, I have 3 Richard Walker mk 4 carp rods, and 4 Richard walker Avon rods, which incidentally Chris Yates caught his record fish at redmire 52 and a half lb on a Richard Walker mk 4 Avon and a Mitchell 300 reel which I have four that’s immaculate as is my rods. I love to hear them explain things , they have done well for themselves ,merry Xmas to both of them and omi 🎉😊
There is a saying that, you can learn more from a guide in one day than you can in three months fishing alone. Thanks for sharing this informative video.
That helicopter rig is something I’ve been wanting to try for a while now. So easy to understand after watching this! Would love to see you do a tutorial on spodding. Great vid chaps 👌🏼
This came at the perfect time 😆 went out yesterday to get all this gear, been on the feeder a while and fancied some specific carp angling 👍🏼 great content guys
I'm just about to start carp fishing again, after a lay off of many years. Learning about rigs is exactly what I'm trying to do so this video was fantastic for me. Subscribed :)
I still like to use inline in some occasions, but I thread an anti tangle hose (about 20cm) on the main line and put the end into the tube of the weight.. this makes it way safer and tangling is very rare.
Great videos guys after my stuff getting nicked I give up that was 15 years ago. I started again with my dad (he's fished sins he was a wee nipper) now my eldest daughter is "hooked" bad pun I know. Your videos have helped me get upto date with alot of new fish safety and techniques iv got the stuff to make leader just not wasted the right video till now keep up the great work Sorry for the long read and bad grammar
Hi Carl, New angler. I have the Korda pre tied heli rig, although not used it yet. I note your set up has short hook lengths. I was going to use a longer hook length using the feeder/lead as I would a bomb. I would love your advice on hook lengths. Love all the channels you run. Looking forward to part 3 of your garden pond project.
Great explanations and video! I fished a helicoper rig myself last weekend in very weedy lake. I lost the fish since the side arm broke of due to snagging in app. 15 kg of weed with lead and fish. But I totally can recommend this rig!
This work you produce is FENOMINAL, It has really helped me over my months of fishing 🎣 and I am going fishing 🎣 today! So I want to wish you the best of luck 🤞 with your fishing career and channel in the future!! ❤❤❤
FANTASTIC Video! Many thanks. I see millions of "how to make rigs" videos and barely any of them, show you how to connect to the mainline. Also, just curious, You guys prefer Leader over Rig Tube? Many thanks KEep up the good work!
Be great to have a video on different hooklinks and lengths, with all the different materials out it’s hard to know what ones to use and also I’m struggling to know what lb mainline I can use for some of them? Just fishing a basic hair
Thank you so much for making these videos I have learned so much. I did have a question though. I was wondering what type of pop up boilie you would recommend for carp fishing in the USA. Thanks again.
Hi lads, just a suggestion: can you do a video about lure choice for perch, pike etc (rigs, colours, shapes, sizes and knowing what situations these are useful for). Great videos as always, tight lines!
As always Carl, great information very well executed many thanks the Spinner rig or helli is the only rig I’ve not made to date. Cheers good luck guys n best wishes 🎣🎣🎣
Another awesome video mate. Up until now I had only ever used the in-line setup but after several tough sessions at Linear in a world of weed I think I will be trying the helicopter setup and this vid has given me the confidence to do that. How easily do those leads drop off when using the clip system? I have wanted to give that a go too but didn't like the idea of taking 50 leads with me on each trip lol. You guys are probably the best thing that has happened to Carp fishing in a long time!
hi carl and alex. i just wanted to ask if you could do a video on showing people how to catch seabass from the beach on lures (after the lockdown obviously)? another great video as always and can't wait for the next one!!!!
Thanks for the vid, i have noticed when splicing a leader into a loop it is strong when pulled but if you pull on one side of the loop it pulls the loop open again, is this normal and are we relying on all the pressure on the loop being equal? hope i made sense...thanks..
totally normal. In parachute rigging we call this method "fingertrapping" for a reason - it works like a chinese finger trap - the harder you pull in one direction the tighter it gets.
Great vid mate - question ... if I’m using ready made hook rigs ( which come with swivel attached already ) how do i attach them ? ( no loop ) Can I use a quick change swivel ?
Hi @fishingtutorials great video of explaining the lead systems. Really good. But one thing I noticed was that on the helicopter rig you put the sleeve over the big ring on the heli lead. That is not so clever to do. It needs to be free. When the lead gets into soft silk it will give the leader or mainline an spooky angle.(check it for yourself) Therefore its better too leave the big ring free so the angle gets smaller and the leader or mainline hugs the lakebed directly from the lead. No criticism but a noticing. 😉
How come you guys use a ring swivel on your leadclip set ups as apposed to using an anti tangle sleeve? I've always thought you would get tangles with just a ring swivel
We have found that with the Dark Matter coated braid we very rarely get tangles. I think it's because the braid has a bit of stiffness to it. Works for us anyway! :)
Another very informative video lads. If i am unsure of what type of substrate im fishing over due to me being a novice carp angler, would you recommend the heli rig setup would be a good all round rig to use as its best on silt and weed and is still effective on solid lake beds or not?
Since we are on this subject, can you guys please help me with the question I have in my mind for last weeks, I don't find any specific information about this anywhere, I would like to know what lead weight you recommend for long distance casting using a 13 ft 3.5 lb rod ???
I’m just curious as to why you have a leader before and after the weight, my mono comes right down to the swivel with a tail rubber and rig tubing, is this just personal preference?
So I’ve recently bought my self stuff for a helicopter rig to try but without using a leader. I was going to tie it on my mainline. Is a leader essential to fish a helicopter rig safely? Quite new to different setups oppose to just using a lead clip.
If you are wondering about fish safety the safest is the naked heli but I would use a mono of at least 15lb breaking strain if I was going to fish it naked on the line
If u want to tho you can use a leader which depends on the situation you are fishing in, such as if you are fishing in a snaggy spot then I would use a leader of 3ft to insure there is some abrasion resistance near the lead end. But you don’t have to fish a leader to have it fished safley
Hey Carl hope you are well, I watched this because I have been told i need to start using a lead clip and not a inline for the lake i am fishing witch is very silty would this be correct?. also i noticed the part about the actual lead at the end and wanted to know about the gripper lead if i was fishing the trent and it was flowing really fast what weight would you recommend ? i would be fishing with my carp rods at 3.5 tc i dont have lighter rods so im going with what i have
Hey Carl & Alex, is there a difference between using rig tubing (like silicone tubing) oppose to using a leader, for example some lead clip system packs come with rig tubing and heli rig kits come with a pre spliced leader? Or any situations or rigs where one is better than the other??

Awesome! Good luck if you go carping some time!
Something very satisfying about that ring swivel clicking in
Great video for a fishing novice like myself. Keep it up!
Yes, it is rather satisfying! :)

Carl and Alex are so inspiring every time I watch a video I just wanna get on the bank and gets some new pb
Thank you! My son who`s 11 years old started fishing mostly because of how wel you explain everything!
Not gunna lie, I have been waiting for this video for ages thank you
That helicopter rig is something I’ve been wanting to try for a while now. So easy to understand after watching this! Would love to see you do a tutorial on spodding. Great vid chaps 👌🏼
Thank you! We'll try and cover it in a future upload :)
Helicopter set ups look so complicated but due to watching this seem so easy. Very big thankyou
Me and my friend have just started fishing. After 3 months of watching your videos and fishing,we caught our first one. Thank you 🙏
Excellent video! Carl you articulated the steps superbly. Extremely helpful for us new to carp fishing across the pond. Thanks!🎣
always love the videos especially because I just got into carp fishing and your videos really helped.me
Thankyou guys! Ive always done float fishing but really wanted to try these!
This came at the perfect time 😆 went out yesterday to get all this gear, been on the feeder a while and fancied some specific carp angling 👍🏼 great content guys
Nice one! Good luck when your next out!
how does the loop not come undone on the leader? newbie here love your videos though always easy to understand.
Braid is wound the same as rope therefore as more pressure is applied by a fighting fish the stronger the braid becomes
I'm just about to start carp fishing again, after a lay off of many years.

this video is by far the most well explained thank you
Thanks, I watched over 50 video’s regarding this subject. This one is the best! 👌🏻
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
I've GOT to use this helicopter system because all of my local fishing areas are deep silt and very weedy and gross on the bottom. Cheers Carl!
No worries mate :)
Helped me alot. I was wondering why I was getting tangled with inline leads
Ye boiii

Tubing
I always use a anti tangle sleeve on my inline system that way I never get tangled up guys apart from that great video guys
Helllo lads this has helped me with my helicopter rigs and i quite like led clips my self thanks this is helpful

Another absolute amazing video well done guys !
Would be really nice to see the helicopter setup onto tubing or mainline as there is a ban on most fisheries for leadcore/leaders
Best fishing channel ✊🏼

Oh wow, amazing!!! Well done :)

Who else is here and been fishing for 20 years, learnt nothing, and only watching just because it’s Carl and Alex? 😂
hahah cheers Alex ;)
👌🏻 Great video comparing the 3 different types👍🏻definitely helped. Just need to choose one now lol.
Great video guys👍 highly rate the lead clip system
Thx this is my first rig
Hello friend! Absolute great video!
How thick main line do i need if i want to make a heli rig with a 80 gramm lead without a leader?
As always Carl, great information very well executed many thanks the Spinner rig or helli is the only rig I’ve not made to date. Cheers good luck guys n best wishes 🎣🎣🎣
best videos I've come across very informative n very helpful to help me n others to improve our fishing thank you
Glad to hear that :)

Hello any tips for lure fishing please
Great video. Can you do a tutorial on Zigs? Especially casting.
Well done lads, great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant video helped me out a lot 👍
To stop the inline lead tangling could u use a small tale rubber pushed over the swivel to kick it out🤔
Hi do you have a video on how to use a line clip??
Just what I needed thank you 😊
Happy to help!
Great instructional video guys.
Thanks dude :)
Great video! Just one question. Are size 8 ring swivels fit to every lead clip or just to some of them?
hi carl and alex. i just wanted to ask if you could do a video on showing people how to catch seabass from the beach on lures (after the lockdown obviously)? another great video as always and can't wait for the next one!!!!
Hi there! Yes we'll try to make a video on this subject at some point!
thanks@@fishingtutorials
For the Helicopter leader, what is the strongest / safest way to connect the leader loop to the mainline?
Great video super helpful!
Thanks for the vid, i have noticed when splicing a leader into a loop it is strong when pulled but if you pull on one side of the loop it pulls the loop open again, is this normal and are we relying on all the pressure on the loop being equal? hope i made sense...thanks..

I thought the same that surely it would need some sort of 'whipping' to keep it in place instead of just leaving inside the other piece!
Really good video as I’m into corse and I’m looking to start transitioning over to carp fishing as I’m only 14
great info guys, have you done any videos on snag fishing?
Yes, we have! th-cam.com/video/MhDvtsqBf3Q/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=FishingTutorials
@@fishingtutorialsnice one Thanks for the reply.
Nice explaned. Thanks for the great video.
Love your videos keep up the good work
Please can you do a video like this but include non bolt rig setups? They arent allowed at my local waters and I'm struggling to find effective setups
This may sound stupid but what rig is a non bolt rig?
May I quickly ask how do you tie leader material on to a main line??
do u have do use the leader or can u just use ur main line. love the vids keep it up
Keep up the good work you guys 😁👍
Great vid mate - question ... if I’m using ready made hook rigs ( which come with swivel attached already ) how do i attach them ? ( no loop ) Can I use a quick change swivel ?
Can I use quick change swivel with antitangle on inline system?
Hi @fishingtutorials great video of explaining the lead systems. Really good. But one thing I noticed was that on the helicopter rig you put the sleeve over the big ring on the heli lead. No criticism but a noticing. 😉
Will a sliding sinker attached to your hair rig and a PVA bag suffice? Short and simple.
Great vid mate.
Hi I was wondering how to use a spomb for bating up a swim have you got any tips
What about running rigs. How do carp not detect the hook and how is the hook set
When’s ur next film coming out
New Fishing Tutorial next Saturday but we have a main channel carp fishing video coming tomorrow!
Oh my god as if u replied
Shush Rhys
Is the lead clip method good for far casting or will it get tangled like inline lead?
No but still use a anti tangle sleeve to be extra safe

Hi, how do you store your leaders?
Hi guys! Can this also Be used for tench?
Why do you use leader and not lead core? What are the difference and why should I use one over the other? Thanks

What would be the best setup for packbait? We don't have PVA where I live.
What about free running lead set ups? Do you use those?
Hi you say the helicopter setup is ideal for the Chod rig! Which setup is best for the Ronnie Rig please?
The Ronnie rig can be used on either the helicopter or lead clip set up. It's up to you. Good luck!
Planted tank is a cool background
Cheers! :)

Hi George, we find a 3.5 or 4oz lead perfect for really long casts. Going heavier starts to make it harder to get distance.
I’m just curious as to why you have a leader before and after the weight, my mono comes right down to the swivel with a tail rubber and rig tubing, is this just personal preference?
