Lebron never entered the dunk contest because he was afraid to lose.
See Lebron entering the Dunk contest would put the spot light on him. If he loses, he has nobody to blame but himself. Lebron playing on a team and losing, he can blame someone else.

Here’s the thing. There’s really no way he was going to lose. Especially if he did it when he was like 19 or 20 years old no chance he was going to lose. Not saying he was going to be epic in his dunks, but just the fact that he’s in the dunk contest, they got his name on the trophy already.

I Can't Recall Ever Disrespecting Jim Brown, Archie Moore, Joe Louis, Dick Butkus, Sugar Ray Robinson , Lenny Moore, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, Smokey Robinson, The Dells, The Beatles, Muddy Waters (My Grandfather & Father's Athletes/Entertainers) Etc.
Why? We Got Everything And Tried To Meet Or Exceed The Standard Set By Them! I Never Heard My Grandfather Say "Walter Payton Ain't Shit"! MJ cemented his legacy as the goat in 12 years. LeBron is on year 22 and still chasing him.

They don’t amount for anything. He could score 50k points by the end of his career and it still wouldn’t change a thing. We have seen enough of LeBron’s game to know he is nowhere on MJ or Kobe’s level. There isn’t anything he can do today in this garbage modern era to sway anyone’s opinion. Mhmmm, and who started branding in the NBA? Again, we don't wanna have this conversation because the true facts come out and then it comes down to biased opinions and cherry picking. The NBA didn't have social media back in the day. It has grown exponentially due to people talking every day about people and their legacies and their brand. MJ was the pandoras box, it helped build the leagues popularity, but it was always headed here because money ruins everything. Now look, guys want out of 50 million dollar contracts. Lebron never asked out, never held a team hostage and said move me or else. He finished his contracts. We've seen Kawhi, Butler, and Harden do horrible acts for their legacy to get traded. I guess that's someones fault who's never done any of that? Branding and money ruined basketball, blaming Lebron is lazy. But I get it, he's all the media talks about which is why the ratings suck. There's no other players being hyped like in the 90's, we don't know anyone except 10-15 players.

This is total insanity. Here is how you fix this. You make the slam dunk contest more appealing to top-tier players by offering them a financial incentive to participate in the event, along with all of the other All-Star events. Once the final All-Star game participant list is set, you have a separate voting for each individual event where the only participants can be those selected to play in the All-Star game. If you are voted in you participate. If you don't participate then you get fined whatever the league would pay you to participate. Players should get paid for each event they participate in on All-Star weekend. The league is to blame for the lack of player participation during all-star weekend, not LeBron James.

Also, they don't understand how impressive MJ's accomplishments were in 13 seasons vs Le🗑's 22 seasons. They act like longevity is the greatest accomplishment ever.

Pretty sneaky adding "total field goals" and not field goals per game. Because in 21-22 and 22-23 LeBron led the league in FGA per game but didn't play enough games to qualify. In 3 of Jordan's 10 scoring titles he did not lead the league in FGA per game. Not to mention LeBron has only played 82 games 1x and Jordan played 82 games 9x. Its easy to not lead the league in FGA when you never play 82 or anywhere near the most games.

There's an old popular saying in Mexico: I GONNA BE LIKE JALISCO, IF I CAN'T WIN I'LL SNATCH IT AWAY FROM YOU.
This is exactly what LBJ is saying, If you guys won't let me be an owner, I'll create a league of my own to compete and destroy your precious business. What this pampered spoiled brat seems to forget, either by ignorance or pride is that the last time someone else created a league like the ABA to compete with the NBA it didn't last too long, in fact it disappeared never to come back again.
LBJ may be jeopardizing his future Hall of Fame induction by trying to stay above everyone else in the NBA, plus, a lot of fans may never forgive or forget this audacity of creating a monster from within, hence tarnishing his legacy for good.
Guys like Magic and Jordan were smart enough not to fight against the system, they waited their turns to sit at the Big Boys table, and eventually each one got a chair.
Good for you LBJ, keep it up, eventually Life will kick you on your rear end and you won't have any excuses to call out others as the culprits.

I think LeBron James never doing a dunk contest shows he kind of always took himself a little bit too seriously. I mean even at 18 or 19 years old He was taking himself too seriously. When you’re that young, you shouldn’t be that concerned about not winning the contest or looking bad. Just go out there and have fun. It’s like he was always panicked about his brand being harmed, even when he was still basically a kid.

Being a person that has dealt with the youth for like 26 years, LeBron is a representation of them. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE A L. Simple as that. For instance, ive hosted plenty of Madden and 2K tournaments. Tons will talk about how good they are and cant be beat... but wont sign up for the free tournament when it comes down to it. Lol. Big reason a lot of them have a first reaction to shoot after almost anything happens to them. In their eyes it is the ultimate victory. Sad. Anyway, Bron never got in the dunk contest to avoid taking an L... and kept running to form super teams.
