He's missing one of his hoof sheaths ... probably got caught up in a wire fence, and tore it off. It will grow back. Like a clipped nail that's been clipped too far back. Sore, but not fatal.

It can definitely be fatal. Oddly enough, hoof injuries are common in deer and many times lead to death due to infection and loss of speed/agility. But this deer looks to be on the mend so he’ll most likely be fine

Actually, in places that don't have predators deer can survive with pretty severe injuries (wether that's sad or good, its a fact).
They can recover from many types of broken bones, and I have even seen one missing a leg right above the hoof on my land.
This deer in the video suffered from hoof rot, causing one side to fall off. This is sad, but it will more than likely live for more years.

It's funny, you could tell that the deer, knew where the cameras were. Go back and watch the video. The deer walked up looking at the cameras. And then he sells down in full view of the camera, I think that deer knew he was safe in that spot or at least safer in that spot.

I have trail cameras out in a vast forest and for some reason, the deer walk in front of it like it's their friend. Maybe they feel the eye upon them and observe that it is not a threat so they come towards it. It's funny. They could walk ANYWHERE else in this vast forest but they walk in front of the camera.

When bucks break legs usually their nutrients and other stuff like that instead of going to their antlers in goes to their broken legs so if he has some funky antlers don’t be worried I may be wrong but I know that it has to do something with antler growth if they break a leg just I dont know if it is their nutrients or anything like that

She must've been laying against the house, when she walked away I saw her back right leg was destroyed, it looked like if u put 3 chicken leg bones in a sock. I felt bad for her and that I scared her away.
