It was way better before the earthquake most of the waves changed and some of them don't break anymore. When I first started going over 20 years ago we would often be the only surfers on the entire island!
Hey! Our host at Momos surf shack reckons the off season is a great time to go, cheaper accom/flights, less crew, the peak breaks all year round and you get pretty much the same light doldrums winds unlike other indo surf spots blown out in the wet season.
I've been to Simeulue once for 8 days it was so much fun to explore the island and watching surfing
